You know right? 4 WAYS to sound like a NATIVE in Japanese using "じゃん" | English Subtitles

I am currently preparing an online school for Japanese language learners whose dream is to be able to speak Japanese. The school’s number one goal is to help people who are not confident in speaking Japanese learn to speak it well. We create memorable classes that resonate emotionally with students, so that when it’s time to speak, you will find yourself speaking naturally. The content of the class itself is created by a Japanese language teacher, myself, and a designer. Since I am not a professional Japanese language teacher, I thought it would be better to have a professional teach instead. The fee has not been finalized yet, but it will be about the same as other Japanese language schools.
Classes will be offered every 3 months (1 term) starting next April. We are preparing 3 courses per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) and 2 courses per week (Tuesday, Thursday) for 3 months.
In order to maintain the quality of the classes, we, unfortunately, can not take many students in the beginning.
So, if anyone is interested, please pre-register using the link below, as we are considering admitting students on a registration basis. This will help us understand if we need additional teachers.
A very simple word that foreigners rarely use but it's very useful when you want to sound like a native. It's very helpful for a casual conversation in Japanese. Every time you want to say "So you know it's like this... right?" you can use "jan" but it's also useful in other situations so keep on watching. I hope you find it useful and give it a like and if you'd like to see more Japanese language learning content click that subscribe button too! よろしくお願いします!

I think じゃん is just the shortened form of じゃない, with the added twist that it is only used when you would ordinarily phrase it as a question.
For example: ここじゃん ー ここじゃない?
It's quite interesting how the じゃん version doesn't need to be a question, but if you use the じゃない version and don't make it a question, you are literally saying the opposite of what you meant.
same in english too though
"This isn't the place": This is not the right place
"Isn't this the place?" / "This is the place, isn't it?": This is the right place
I am so confused
Hachkuji Mayoi from monogatari uses it in"Karemichi" named opening.
I used to wonder what it meant.
Thanks
I kept hearing じゃん while watching Terrace House and now it finally makes sense! Thanks!
I started watching terrace house 2 weeks ago. Already almost watched "Opening new doors" some of the dialogue is hilarious

That's normal for bilinguals. There's also the whole "answer in the language you were asked in" thing.
Complex topic, and I have re-watched it several times! Thank you for making it.

Lol this sums up my reaction to Takoyaki the first time. I was so convinced I wouldn't like it, being octopus and all, but 美味しいじゃん :P
Thank you for explaining things so well ! I always thought that じゃん was quite confusing because I kept hearing it in phrases with different meanings but you made me understand ! Thanks !

この”じゃん”は先会社にいる日本人が私が日本語少し話せるのはびっくりして、”すごいじゃん”といってた 笑笑
Have heard you use 'jan' in other videos and always wondered what it meant. Now I know! Thank you, Hitoki san :-)
I tried bubble tea once when I visited Taiwan, but didn't really like it so much. Maybe it's an acquired taste.
There’re lots of types of bubble tea.
I like mango bubble with sweat milk! It’s not tea anymore but I like it lol
Thanks for commenting as always!
@@Onomappu Thank you for sharing that, I want to try bubble tea but I stay away from tea in general. Mango tea -not tea sounds like a great option! 😁

"It's actually shit-jan" 悪悪 ありがとうございます。この動画を完璧です。けれど、動画の後、もしかして「結構」分からないと思います。笑笑。たくさん使った。

辞書でこのじゃんの意味を調べましたけどあまりわからなかったのです。今やっと分かるようになりましたよ。説明してくれてありがとうございます。よかったら じゃないの使い分ける動画を作ってもらえないですか。例えば いいじゃない、おそいじゃない、~のじゃないの などです。これは本当に難しい

❤️❤️❤️
what is the difference between using 'ga' when saying
: onaka ga hetta
: onaka hetta
please answer sensei!
Dont you basically use it when you're using じゃない except in a skeptical manner?
I think what this video is trying to get across with all the example is that じゃん makes it into kind of a half rhetorical question which allows the person to either disagree or agree and/or inject/add on their own thoughts onto the subject matter. That's what I took away from the video as a whole.
sugoku benri de omoshirokatta, arigatou gozaimasu hitoki sensei 😊

Hi there! Could you do a lesson on the different (more advanced / natural sounding) ways to use という / っていう。 Not the simple "N1 という N2" but the way you often hear native speakers using it.
Here are some example sentences from your videos. I can understand the translations but I just don't really understand the purpose of という since it often seems grammatically unnecessary?
In the examples I'm showing it doesn’t seem like how we use the verb "to say" in English.
1) これから順番にどうやって英語や中国語の単語を覚えていったのか という こと について 話したいと思います
2) あ、もういいや帰ろうって思ったら あれここじゃんっていうふうにやっと見つけたの
For what it is worth, IMHO, I wouldn’t worry about explaining it perfectly since it's probably quite nuanced. I'd just like to hear someone like yourself talk a bit about how it's used and what it's doing. Even if it's not a grammatical construction and, instead, it's just softening the sentence or smoothing a transition between ideas. It just seems like - in all the Japanese learning videos/textbooks - it is never talked about how this verb “to say” can be used in so many different ways.
「じゃん」をじゃんじゃん使いますねぇ~
(じゃん)のフォーマル形は(じゃないですか)?
そして、(〜んじゃない)の使い方も説明していただけませんか。
Just watched this video today then came upon a situation I could actually use it! But... with someone who doesn’t speak Japanese, so I want to make sure it is right! They told me “I need to shower” and I wanted to respond with “then shower!” So.... in Japanese would this be シャワーをあびればいいじゃん?
thanks for using easily understandable Japanese words. お気に入りの日本語教えてるユーチューバーやっと見つけたと思います。ありがとうございます。
just a question why does 食べなよ mean "just eat"? i cant get the conjugation.
I explained about よ in the new video
So i hope it will help you
@@Onomappu 見に行きます。ありがとうございます!
13:48 え、スクワットのプロじゃん!?
With the first case of "じゃん", is it like でしょう? For example, 「あれは金閣寺じゃん」versus 「あれは金閣寺でしょう?」Or is there a difference?
Random question, but what is the name of that dog stuffy in the background,? I want one, lol.
I bought him in 100 yen shop lol

Would you use じゃん when you lost your cell phone and were looking for it everywhere, and then you realized it was in your pocket the whole time? Or when you're looking for your glasses and they are on your head?
じゃんandじゃない is the same or not?
You could have just said it is used the same as そうですね 。
この〈じゃん>の意味は<じゃないか>や<じゃないですか>と同じですか?
復習したい人には、はい~👉10:24
"jyan" is short for "jyanai", am I correct?
I do understand how to use it properly and comprehend it in a dialogue, I just want to make sure that this "jyan" is short for "jyanai".
