McNeilus AutoReach: Republic Services of Tampa

Every Friday Republic shoehorns this full size AutoReach into Sunset Beach's tight streets on the south end of Treasure Island. The result isn't very efficient but fun to watch. You'll notice the driver has to get out often to move carts, they are either too close to each other, or the arm's swing out gets in the way, or the truck can't back up far enough into the dead end streets, or the carts are on the wrong side of the street. The AutoReach's jerky, sudden arm movements don't make things any easier. Republic could not pick a worse truck to run here. Pretty much anything but a Cool Hand would be an improvement. The driver did a great job with the route though, a real pro behind the controls. This is the same area the City of Treasure Island runs the tiny CP Python/320 for trash.
