Au concept: Element-Tale(might change the name) The humans feared that the Elemental Reservoirs could be used as weapons and should all elements siphon into a single host, they could gain godlike powers, allowing them to not only use magic based on it but could also create reactions between elements(Hot and cold existing simultaneously without canceling each other, being able to use Area of Effect magic to change the battlefield to their advantage, etc). After all Magic is a chaotic force until honed and controlled by the soul. The humans siphoned the source's power, amplified it with magic rods and then sealed the monsters away, after breaking them. The underground hoped to achieve peace in their current situation, repairing or recreating the four elemental reservoirs (sources). Earth, to stabilize the earth to prevent cave ins (They literally live in a mountain cave, all it takes is Earth having a bad day in that area). The water source so that the water remains clean, the fire source to provide heat to keep snowdins extreme cold livable, the Earth source was forcibly taken from the ruins, making them more dangerous and frail than the original(and is the main reason Toriel let you go), and the Earth source was then moved to the core to prevent any oversights in the core's design, and help run the core, since lava is Earth based. The Air source was used to keep the air quality up, despite the "living in a mountain" situation. Gaster never falls into the core, and is set on finding a way to create a power source strong enough to disrupt the barrier, so that Asgore will never have to take another life (handplates reference, not enough people do it, and it's the only way to give a character as ambiguous as Gaster a personality without starting from scratch.) The pacifist run ends with the four sources being used to increase your stats, Earth raising defense, air raising top speed, and giving an air dash, Fire raising attack, and water raising adaptability and versatility. They hope to teach you magic, so the main cast alongside you can break the barrier. With Asriel and Chara not being dead(so no flowey or soul BS), Asriel is curious about you, and Chara is overprotective of Asriel, and passive aggressive towards you, often telling you to quit your "acts", or mentioning Chara's inability to Save or Load after you appeared. I don't know what to do with Neutral, it's often the most complicated. Feel free to give ideas if you've read this far. Genocide's main changes is that Alphys and Gaster step up to stop your rampage, Alphys has a bit of a NEO approach, with a "pinch of elemental essence." Gaster I'm not sure, but he'll have plethora of magi-mechanical equipment at his disposal. And every time a boss Guarding a Source is defeated, a short hooded figure teleports in and grabs the source before you can take it. You find an Unknown source in the vacant True Lab, where you read up on it, stating that it was a complete "failure" and even disrupts the other sources. Your character then speaks up stating that activating it can give you a better fighting chance against any future Elemental monsters. You get to the penultimate area, and it's empty. Because of the efforts of a powered-up Undyne, Alphys NEO-ish, and Gaster you're capped at LV 15-16 thanks to evacuation. You Find Sans, and the four elemental Sans fights occur. I hope this gains traction.
