As a Huddersfield fan I think this league could be very tight at the top and I’m expecting nothing less than a promotion push from Duff but it certainly won’t be easy
We (Crawley) were favourites to finish bottom last season and ended up getting promoted, we don't mind being favourites to finish bottom again, especially on better form this season. It's been a long time since I cared about League 1
Crawley were great last season. I've never seen a team lose 4 - 1 like that at Wrexham, yet were so beautiful to watch, and you knew they were a top 4 side. Just Wrexham took advantage of every opportunity. If Crawley plays like the last two months all season, they'll stay up for sure.
As a Wrexham fan I'd rather see them consolidate their position in league 1 rather than push for promotion. As Humphrey Ker stated, Wrexham need to build infrastructure with a better training ground and start an academy.
If you’re not careful you can get stuck in this league forever…….😳

Wrexham needs at least two campaigns in league one
There blown thru the national league and league two with Rob and Ryan's backing but yeah moving to fast could be a shot in the foot if you don't have the infrastructure in place to bring in that talent and to reforge some of your key players.
Looking forward to watching Birmingham fight for promotion back to the championship
Yeah this league lineup is stacked with competitors
The problem is Mullin, Lee, and McClain ain't getting any younger. They only need about 5 quality players to make it, and then they'll have lots of money to spend next year. Birmingham shot for mid table last year, and you saw what happened. Have to shoot for the playoffs at least.
Stockport fan: I would be happy with a top ten if I’m honest!!
I’m a Wrexham and I’ll be happy with top 12 and year after playoffs that would be a dream ❤come true
This league is very odd. It's the half way point between the premier league and non league.
Huddersfield Town v Crawley Town
Birmingham City v Burton Albion
Charlton Athletic v Wrexham
Some mad games
Birmingham, Huddersfield & Rotherham will all come back up ⚽️💙
Hopefully not
Michael Duffos barmy army
I doubt it. Posh will secure promotion third time lucky. Bolton may also do so.

Life long Wrexham fan here. I'm hoping we are top half. No more no less.
As a Birmingham fan I won’t be surprised if they don’t finish top 10 they need to give the youth players a chance
Northampton fan here, losing Bowie and Leonard is a huge blow for us next season considering they were probably our two best players last year. McWilliams been another key player for a number of years that we've now lost, Appere another big part of the last couple of sessions and potentially Sherring leaving who's key to our distribution from the back.
Definitely a big summer ahead with lots of work to be gone, squad is going to be re-shaped a lot more compared to the last two seasons but I'm hopeful we'll have enough to stay up again
Great video as always Matt!
Wrexham fan here, good show well presented. I am hoping for top 10, with some quality signing anything can happen. I do not like this American trip, as it cost us last year for the early matches , injury and some tiredness. Hope your team have a good season. well best of luck all for next season.
They aren’t criss crossing the states this year. Have a settled training camp in Cali to avoid last year. Like you, I’m fine with a top 10. That being said, this is a Parkinson team so he’s expecting top 3. It’ll be a hoot. Lots of big clubs this season. Friggin Birmingham! Sheesh.
1st Birmingham City
Sad to see Mowbray go but respect it because health and family over anything, would’ve loved to see sunjic stay but wages to high, hopefully we get a good manager and bring some good players in, outside the ground it’s looking good😍
Great video and very interesting. League looks intriguing

As a Wrexham fan we need to stay in this league for about 2 seasons before jumping up. We still have off the field issues to figure out with the stadium.
I'll be supporting Crawley Town! It will be a tough task but they definitely have the capability of surviving in this league.

As a Posh fan, I'm hoping we can push for automatic promotion, but I reckon we will at least make the play offs. High hopes this season, should be a good one!
1. Birmingham
2. Rotherham

6. Huddersfield
20. Exeter
21. Shrewsbury
22. Crawley
23. Cambridge
24. Burton
I think the thrice.champions will do better than 6th UTT
Exeter had a very good end of season don't think they'll be in the relegation fight. Us (Northampton) have lost a lot of players and Stevenage have lost Evans so can see is being in the flight
Going to be interesting to see how Birmingham do
Wycombe and I think at least top 6 because I think you would remember that season that we were favourites for relegation but we scraped 6 th place and we won play off during coved
I would expect Huddersfield to get automatically promoted as the new american owner is committed to giving mike duff a big budget. And obviously duffs league one record speaks for itself!
Would love to see Wrexham in the top half of the table. Playoffs would be a dream 💭
Birmingham Fan - really hard to call before manager in place. Plus we have quality in the squad but need much more physicality, particularly at centre half and centre forward if we are to cope with the strong characters in this division...it won't be easy but I think we can do it within two years...fingers crossed at the first attempt (with no disrespect to the division as there are so many clubs here that I'm fond of)
As a Wrexham fan, depending on how the summer transfer goes, I think making the playoffs would be a huge win. I do worry about being promoted again to Championship because that is a whole different level and I'm not sure if they would be able to financially compete. If they took 1-2 years in League 1, built up stronger finances, bigger sponsorships, increase the stadium further, then they'll be ready for Championship. To be the first team to have 3 consecutive promotions sounds awesome but could be a disaster.
Definitely agree probably wasn't ready, neither are Oxford. But no doubt we'll be fighting for top 2 👍
Hi Matt, please could you share a link to these tier lists so we can just go straight to them and make our predictions as well?

@@hgm8337 Could easily see them getting higher but I feel they might drop off a bit. Remember that they can still get promoted via the playoffs so it is not over for them in that case. But these are early predictions.
Stockport fan living in Huddersfield here....... Right, first off, I do fancy Town to finish in the top three and get back to the Championship at first try. I'd say Birmingham and Bolton to also go up. As for my team, the might Stockport - I'd be happy with a top 12. We need to see some decent transfer action after loosing Paddy and Sarce. So top 12 to build for a push the next season. I'd suggest the same for Wrexham as going to far too fast could be a killer for them.
League 1 24/25 top 6 predictions
1 Huddersfield Town
2 Stockport County
3 Birmingham City

5 Oxford United
6 Rotherham United
Nice prediction that. Just one small oversight.
Oxford in championship!
I can't wait
I'm a Birmingham city fan and i think we will struggle to get promoted next season. We have no manager and we need to completely rebuild our team.
At least I’m not the only one
@@jackbcfc321 same here. No faith in the CEO to appoint the right man and no faith in our recruitment team. At least we have a gullible yank, with deep pockets, to soak up the loses. I predict a snails pace start to the season.
Hope you're right. UTV
So many predicting Crawley to finish bottom! If they can keep Scott Lindsey and the core of the squad I think there are 4 worse teams in this league. They could achieve lower mid table for sure, maybe 15th/16th. People underestimate just how powerful a good manager can be, and if the recruitment is as good as last season I see no reason for them to go down.
I'll be interested to see your predictions for all divisions
As a Stockport fan I'd be very happy with this, it's just great to be in this company rather than Brackley and Curzon Ashton.
birmingham, huddersfield bolton, peterbro, barnsley wrexham, stockport, wigan reading, lincoln charlton and rotherham top half. no idea in what order. favour bolton birmingam and huddersfield to go up.

Oxford in championship mate...
Good odds on a Town up and Leeds down double.. just sayin'
16th Bristol Rovers
I predict that one of the promoted teams for next season will be a team that no one expected
I’d be very happy with County finishing top 12/top 10. The long term vision is Championship football and I’d say a top half finish in the first year back in League One is a solid starting point.
5th Wrexham AFC
13th Reading
My Top 6-

2. Bolton
1. Birmingham City
League one is the trickiest. 3 go up but 4 go down.
14th Wycombe Wanderers
2nd Bolton Wanderers
17th Northampton Town
18th Stevenage
As a Wrexham supporter mid table would be great but.....we released 7 players including 3 cbs. I do think quality will come into the club from championship and maybe young players from prem clubs. Parkinson is a shrewd cookie and can see us pushing for play offs, then anything can happen. As for Birmingham they 'should' get promoted but are a club in turmoil on the playing side. Need a solid manager and actually stick with him even if they get a couple of bad results. Off the field seem to be in a good place but recruitment will be vital.
15th Mansfield Town
12th Lincoln City
22nd Burton Albion
4th Huddersfield Town
21st Cambridge United
Reading fan here, extremely fustrated whith not only dia yonge but potential owners chiron sports group. Apparently chiron are playing hard ball and keep chiping away at the price. Just hope for new owers soon
4th place will do me. But I think a more realistic finish is top 3rd of the table. COYR 🏴♥️

If Crawley Town get promoted to the Championship that would be ridiculous 😅
That would be insane
crawley becoming luton 2.0 as we speak
Yeh just as shite as when Burton and Yeovil got to the championship a big joke u got bigger clubs playing in the National South and North!! Like Scunthorpe and Torquay!! Torquay in deep trouble as they're in administration!!
Barnsley just announced Darrell Clarke as new Head Coach with Martin Devaney and Jon Stead as his assistants. Depending on player recruitment I can see Bookies placing us in play offs, but I would put us in automatic promotion places. COYR!
Without cole
Shithole oakwell,
Just worth noting that the bookies do not make the odds. The people putting money on do. The bookies simply balance " the book" to ensure they win irrespective of the outcomes. It Elon musk put 5 billion on Crawley to win L1 then they would have the shortest odds.
19th Exeter City
We will finish higher than 19th, let me tell you why
1. Gary Caldwell is a good manager and has a good vision on who to sign in the market
2. We have some great players, like Millennic Alli, Will Aimson and Reece Cole
3. Alli ended last season in good form, so he can score goals
4. We have a lot of young talent, like Sonny Cox, Jake Richards and Pedro Borges
Overall, I think we will finish around 13th.
Wonder how Rotherham will do
6th Blackpool
Wrexham 4th is bizzare
I think that Exeter will finish three places behind Mansfield maybe like 11th
11th Peterborough United
You must be joking - 1st or 2nd, as sick of the injustice of the play-offs.

I'm going to be careful not to be too carried away with where I think we'll finish this season, because there are a lot of decent teams in League One, plus I don't know which players we're definitely going to keep.
Also if we are getting Alex Neil as our Manager, then I'm not being filled with a lot of confidence that we'll do as well as some people are thinking.
My predictions for League One 2024/25 season.
1. Rotherham - They're very good at this level, plus they have a decent Manager who's experienced at managing in League One. I think that they're a great tip to come straight back up, plus also being the champions.
2. Bolton - A big club with a decent Manager, and a decent squad of players.
3. Huddersfield - I think that they'll be a bit slow off the mark, but will grow into the season, and have a really strong finish, but ultimately can't break into the top 2.
4. Peterborough - They're normally always a decent League One team, they're a well run club, I see another potential promotion chase from them again.
5. Barnsley - A solid team that I think will have another strong season in League One.
6. Lincoln - I do like to back a team that had a strong overall finish towards the end of the previous season, and that would be Lincoln, I don't think that they'll have the squad to finish any higher, but I do think that their run of strong form will carry them to the playoffs.
7. Wrexham - I think that they'll have a great first season back into League One Football, but I do think that it's going to take them a few games to get used to the level.
8. Charlton - I have someone that I know on the Internet that's a big Charlton fan, so hopefully for him they do have a strong season. And tbh Nathan Jones is a strong Manager at this level, he should be able to get a tune out of the players.
9. Birmingham - I feel like we'll do well, but we're still too much of an enigma for me to place us any higher.
10. Blackpool - Blackpool are normally good at home, so I'm expecting another solid season from them personally.
11. Wigan - Wigan are a good team, tbh I was torn on where to place Blues, Blackpool, and Wigan against each other, but I'll stick with 11th for now.
12. Stockport - It's tricky when you're a promoted team, but I'm still expecting a decent showing from Stockport.
13. Leyton Orient - I'm expecting a decent but overall inconsistent season from Leyton Orient, I could see them winning some big matches, but also be the kind of team to blow the easier games.
14. Crawley - Crawley look like a decent team to me when I saw them play in the playoffs, I think that they could surprise a few teams.
15. Bristol Rovers - They just seem to place in these kind of positions nowadays, I don't really see that changing tbh.
16. Reading - I don't know what's going on with their financial situation currently, but I see them performing similar to this season just gone.
17. Mansfield - I'm bravely saying that I think that all of the newly promoted teams will stay up, I think that Mansfield have a solid Manager that will get them crucial results when they'll need it.
18. Shrewsbury - Shrewsbury always tend to do just enough to get by, and I expect them to do the same again next season.
19. Cambridge - Cambridge were a bit all over the place this season just gone, and I expect similar again for next season, but pulling out crucial results to just stay up.
20. Stevenage - I think that they'll do enough to stay up, but they're going to miss not having Steve Evans as their Manager is my prediction.
21. Wycombe - It's just a feeling that I have tbh, there's no real particular reason for why I've placed Wycombe where I've placed them.
22. Exeter - I think that it'll be tight, but I think that Exeter will fall just short of staying up.
23. Northampton - It's just a gut feeling tbh, that will probably end up being wildly wrong.😄
24. Burton - Their form looks really bad going into the start of this next season, fair play if they prove me wrong though and they start smashing the rest of us apart, but I just don't see that being likely.
Interesting read. I think you have Lincoln a bit high, and Reading a bit low, but as a Crawley fan I'd definitely take that! I think Mansfield will surprise some people this season. I watched them last season and they're really physical and aggressive, good fan base, generally got a good vibe from them as a whole. I think Charlton will push for the playoffs at the very least too.
@wilko871 Tbh the season coming up for League One does look strong, so maybe you're right that I'm underestimating Reading and Mansfield's chances of higher finishes up the table.
And with Lincoln, I'm just going with the form towards the end run of the season, I think that there's a chance for them to surprise a few teams.
And good luck to Crawley, hopefully they'll have a decent season... Just hopefully not at our expense.😄😉

No, Posh instead of Brum.
7th Barnsley
Do league two
Big fight between Birmingham, Bolton, Barnsley, Huddersfield and probably one out of Charlton, Wigan and Reading??
MORE LEAGUE 1 😃
You asked why Wycombe Wanderers have been bumped up? It might have something to do with a Billionaire having bought the club, I wait to see who Matt can bring into our little club, I hope my expectations are not dashed.
Brum not this season maybe next, we need to sort our crap out
In my opinion, I think Crawley will survive considering how much they’ve improved since the season they finished near the bottom of league 2.
I also think that the bookies are placing Wrexham too high - the step up from League 2 to League 1 is much more difficult than from the National League to League 2.
I think Cambridge United will survive again as they seem to always do so these past seasons, and I think one of Exeter, Stevenage or Bristol Rovers will go down.
But most of all, I think that Rotherham will be champions, and Birmingham and Huddersfield will not have the easiest of times relatively speaking - one of them won’t get promoted straight back up I think, as they’ve both fallen on hard times and it’s difficult to regain the support for teams as big as these to be down in League 1, especially in the case of Birmingham City who haven’t been in League 1 this century.
As for my team, Stockport County, I reckon a top half finish would be good - a decent consolidation season. I just hope that the business done in the transfer window will help Stockport to do so since a fair chunk of last season’s players have left or been released.
I’m excited to go to as many grounds as possible this season! I believe the only team out of this League 1 season that I’ve been to before is Wrexham, so this will be a great experience!
