I have Volvo Penta EVC with twin IPS 600’s and recently had my entire systems serviced and upgraded through a Volvo Penta dealer to add dynamic positioning. Since the upgrade the IPS/EVC has constant steering failures and the DPS does not work. I contacted Volvo directly and got no support. The dealer has changed Parts that made no difference and I just had to abandon a Bahamas cruise as we had multiple loss of steering issues. Very disappointed in Volvo Penta and it is highly unlikely my next boat with have IPS or Volvo DPS/EVC. I will probably go straight shaft, bow and stern thrusters and a Yacht Controller.

have a volvo 210 penta I have a orange evc light flashing even before a start the engine it doesn't effect the running of the engine its perfect what can I do would appreciate your comments regards paul gale nz

forse con il motore spento nn sente la carica dell alternatore e quindi lampeggia la luce arancione. Quando la spia accende di color arancio indica un allarme di difetto rossa di pericolo e bisogna fermarsi anche perche il motore viene limitato nei giri
Just bought a single engine Volvo Penta equipped 24' boat. I guess it depends on what they have wired up (software installed...not sure how this all works). Doubt it will have joystick or auto pilot if smaller boat. Mine has GPS maps, digital gauges, auto trim assist, trim tab indicator, tow mode, cruise control. Not sure what else as I haven't gotten the boat yet to play around with options other than one's the salesman showed me. Not much of the stuff in this video other than the digital gauges, GPS, and trim assist applied to my (much) smaller single engine.

I'm ordering a new boat that will have evc but with only one engine. What benefits does this provide with only one engine?
