    Excellent video and tutorial, I wasn't sure if my Creator C310 had the option to clear my airbag light coming on after replacing my BMW E39 front window regulator that broke and required that I disconnect my airbag in the side door.

      Hi, sorry, I haven't come across this problem myself yet personally. A quick search of forums seems to indicate that it is the "B pillar satellite sensor" and that it is a pretty common problem. I would search BMW forums and you will find info like in this thread that may help you: www.bimmerfest.com/threads/b-pillar-satellite-location.950885/ Sorry I can't be more help! Thanks, Phil

    Hi, thank you for a very helpful video. Can I just ask. Do you disconnect the battery before disconnecting any wires to sensors? i.e. under the seat? Thanks again!

    • @ReviveMyRide
      @ReviveMyRide  9 місяців тому

      Thanks! Yes, I think it is good practice to disconnect the battery. If you don’t, you will probably get fault codes that you then need to go clear. Possibly an airbag light too, which you may need a more expensive fault code reader to clear as the budget ones often don’t have that functionality. Cheers, Phil

    Hi is the srs connection the same for all BMW’s I have the 5 series e60 2005.. I think I may need to bypass it. Do you have a video on how to do this

    • @ReviveMyRide
      @ReviveMyRide  2 роки тому

      Hi, is the SRS connection you are talking about the battery BST connection? If so, then across different BMW's, the plugs look very similar but sometimes has a different wiring configuration. It is possible to swap the wires around but probably better if you look carefully at photo's in adverts for used items for sale and buy one that looks exactly the same as yours. I'm sorry, I'm not sure how to bypass it, so I don't have a video on it but I think it involves linking the SRS connector wires together with a resistor in the loop. Sorry I couldn't be more help, hope you get it sorted! Thanks, Phil

    To get through an MOT with a red airbag light on a BMW E46, I put the key in position 2, and removed Fuse 10.
    No rear parking sensors, but she passed the MOT.

    Hi pal I'm getting a fault code 8a b-pillar right side on my x3 e83, I wasn't aware there was an airbag in my b-pillar. Have you ever seen this code before?

    • @ReviveMyRide
      @ReviveMyRide  2 роки тому

      Hi, Sorry, I haven't seen that fault code before but I just have a couple of comments which may help: Code 8A seems to commonly be associated with the alarm system (internal movement detector), so it will probably be unrelated to your airbag light (if it is on). Code 84 though (may look very similar on your reader) is for an airbag, so it may be worth double checking exactly which code is showing. In the first instance, I would try resetting it, maybe it was just a one off? Failing that, these lights often come on due to a poor connection at the plug, you could access the B pillar trim, unplug the connector from the airbag and clean it? Hope some of this rambling helps! Cheers, Phil

    I have a 9SAE and a 9303 code in my 2011 BMW 328i convertible. Installed seatbelt emulator and that didn’t help with the weight sensor in the front passenger seat. Tried clearing codes and that didn’t work either.

      Hi, very sorry for the slow reply, you may have sorted this out by now. Also, I don't really have much I can add because I don't recognise the codes you provided. Here is a link to the resource that I normally use: it is the attachment in the forum thread and gives a full list of BMW codes (or at least I thought it did!) www.bimmerfest.com/threads/complete-list-of-obd2-obdii-fault-codes.683744/

    Does battery need to be removed to unplug and plug under the seat ?

    • @ReviveMyRide
      @ReviveMyRide  Рік тому +3

      Hi @chaunce023 Yes, if you are talking about the yellow SRS connection (not the plain plugs which are just the electric motors etc) if you don't unplug the battery, the ecu will throw a code and put the SRS airbag light on the dash.

    • @ReviveMyRide
      @ReviveMyRide  9 місяців тому +1

      @@peterc6285 Hi, you need a fault code reader that can also clear MB Airbag / SRS faults. I'm afraid a scanner that can do this will cost you around £100+ but it would come in handy for future work! Please be aware, that there is a big difference between being able to read and being able to erase codes, so you need to make sure it has the correct functionality. I don't have first had experience of the following devices, but I have read on forums that iCarsoft i980 and FOXWELL NT630 can do it. I do use the TOPDON AD800BT and it has that functionality but I'm sure there are others too that may be cheaper! Thanks, Phi

    Hello, I sent you a message recently about my park brake,e220, thats fixed now , not by me but the local garage, the srs light has come on now, intermittently at first, now permanently, do you have any tips on how to check what the fault could be, eg, air bags or seat belts or anything else, thank you for your videos, all the best charlie

    • @ReviveMyRide
      @ReviveMyRide  2 роки тому

      Hi Charlie, I have done this work on a BMW but not on a Merc yet, principles should be the same... What you need is a good quality OBD2 scanner or other form of fault diagnosis. I higher quality unit will tell you exactly what is causing the light. For example: On my BMW it told me it was the Battery safety terminal on the battery and I went straight to it. Often it is a bad connection and you can dean the plug with electrical spray etc. I found this article which should hopefully point you in the right direction: www.mercedesmedic.com/srs_airbags/ . Hope that helps! Thanks, Phil

    anybody know what this means: MRS: TCU OUTPUT SHORT CIRCUIT TO POSITIVE.
    CODE IS 93EB NOT PRESENT.

    • @ReviveMyRide
      @ReviveMyRide  2 роки тому +1

      I Haven't had this problem myself but did some searching. Seems like it is a short circuit form a connection that talks to the SRS system. Main culprit is a 10 pin electrical connection under the bonnet near the bonnet latch. Otherwise, if you have had a water leak into the car recently, look for a connection near the source of the leak.
