I hope sod3 removes or adds a toggle for tethering and being able to loot all the same containers, itd be cool to make a little plan and basically be one community
Easy. Make two option. Non-dedicated (peer to peer) with tethering distance currently SoD2 has this. Other one is dedicated server option so there tethering distance removed and who has better PC and can host a server can enjoy this or if you don't have a good PC no worries then you just buy one from a host and enjoy it's benefits it could be extra income for Undead Labs. Everybody wins. When you are offline you don't earn and lose anything on Dedicated server.
The Tether isnt that big of a deal when me and my gf play its got a pretty big circle, the biggest thing for us is no loot for anyone who joins, you get 1-2 things to loot in a house and host gets like 20 things to loot. That will always make the joining player loot everything faster then moving on without the host thats where the problem gets created with the tether. If the joining player had just as much to loot as the host then joining players would stick together more. Put more in the game for joining players to do and interact with or loot (joing player should be able to ask 1 person to follow them if they have enough influence but it wont be a recruit it will just be a follow) joining players should be able to access the base menu for upgrading their facilities or craft stuff from facilities anywhere on the map like the host (not just in the players base that your joining)
another issue if you join a players game the only way to get rucksacks to your community is put a rucksack on your survivor in some1 elses game then swap out that survivor, then quit their game and load yours then deposit the rucksacks in your community then go back to your friends game gahhhhhh
first game was amazing because you saw the potential 2nd game was a let down because they phoned it in wat a waste, hopefully the 3rd game is much much better
never commented before but love the vids. have watched almost every one. i'd love the tether to be removed, would make multiplayer more bearable... on a side note, what is the background music that plays in the beginning? its in almost every video and i cant find it on the soundtracks! love it. keep up the good work
I'm not sure what it's called, I found it when dumping the game files and the file name is just numbers. It's also the main menu music now so that might help to search for
