When they where in Europe they were the pre act for the Rolling Stones .
When the returned to Oz after being sick of touring the single St.Louis started to chart in the U.S but all the band wasn’t motivated to go as they had enough.

The Guitarist with the dark hair is George Young and the blonde next to him is Harry Vanders. Not only were the song writers for the Easybeats and Some for AC/DC the wrote and produced Albums for many Australian bands including the Easybeats lead singer Stevie Wright after the broke up. They were mentioned in Dire Straits Sultans of Swing. George is Guitar George and Harry has the daytime job.
George Young is the elder brother of Malcolm and Angus Young from AC/DC. Vanders and Young wrote a couple of songs for them but produced their first 5 albums.

Other good tunes from the Easybeats would be Sorry, I’ll make you happy, and She’s so fine. I was born in the next decade, but the lead singer Stevie Wight had a huge song called Evie I II and III which was played a lot in my very young years…. RIP to him. It was George Young in the Easybeats who is the older brother of Angus from AC/DC….

Another Aussie band from a slightly later time, that I reckon you'll appreciate is The loved ones, with my two favourite songs The loved one and Ever lovin' man.
Yes, Stevie Wright was very cheeky, but very lovable and highly sensitive, so unfortunately hid his pain with a tonne of drugs. He made a come back in the 70's with a heavy rock song called black eyed bruiser (later covered by Rose tattoo) and a little later with Evie parts 1, 2, & 3.
Gotta admit I get a thrill watching the reactions of new ears to our Aussie classics, specially those the world missed out on.

Sadly the late Stevie wright fried his brain on drugs and faded into obscurity. Very much like Syd Barrett of Pink Floyd. But not before he recorded the epic Evie (parts 1, 2 and 3) written for him by Vanda and Young.

Yes Stevie wright made a mistake by trying heroin.
He was told that his music was to soft in the UK... That made him feel like he was not able to write anything good, so he quit. He was only a child somewhere between the ages of 16/21.
In all that time he had Nobody to look out for him and his best interest. That's when he started to get involved with achol and smoking..
Then he was in the musical Jesus Christ superstar and leard about heroin. That was all it took. He got hooked believing that it would give him more creative. When he realized that he was hooked and needed help he checked himself into the Chelmsford private hospital a drug rehab center...
They made him worse. There he was given 14 electric shock treatment's, and a cocktail of drugs that nobody knows what was in them. He was put in a coma for two weeks or more. Nobody knows how long. He suffered from brain Damage after that for the rest of his life..n
Then he went to the Westmont rehabilitation center for help.
      That didn't work either...
He also was a diabetic and didn't know it. Between all of that his life was ruined.
Look up his life story on You Tube channel. It will brake your heart so sad 😭😭😭😭😭

Yes Gary Moore version of this song is pretty close to the original, but you can not beat Stevie Wright's performance of this song .
He is just so Cute 🥰🥰🥰. The way he dance's & plays with the camera.

It is not about them 😢😢😢😢.
Getting very tired of hearing about how great they were.😢😢 So what that george young was their brother.
    Accident of birth.
It was Stevie wright who was the first song writing partner of gerorge, and he wrote alot of the lyrics to most of the Easybeats songs . george wrote the music 🎵🎵.
And if he was so great 😃😃👍 a song writer why didn't he write anything good 👍👍 by himself.
He was always needing to have some one else do the lyrics for him.

The easybeats should have been given the name of Stevie wright and the Easybeats 😂😂😂🎉.
Other wise they were just 3 guitar player's and a drummer 🎉
No better than the other bands from that time.
And every body forgets about Gordon Snowy Fleet the easybeats drummer, and Dick Diamond the third party in the group that is hardly ever heard anything about.
He was the third guitar player

@@OldiesMomma Stevie was talented and adorable, but George Young was the musical genius and creative power behind the Easybeats,AC/DC and so many other groups. To deny this shows you are blinded by Stevies cuteness. Yes, he wrote some solid lyrics, but he was no where near the caliber of musician George was.

I didn't mean to afend you.
But what I was trying to say was that everyone talks about how great Vanda and Young was.
But They have to agree that it was Stevie Wright's lyrics that George wrote the music to.
People leave Stevie out of the credits for his contribution to the Easybeats songs.
Him and George wrote the first three or four of their albums.
And who knows what would have happened to them if Stevie had not stopped writing songs with George. Things could have been different for everyone
