The best thing we can do in this business is not race to the bottom on pricing. There will always be someone willing to do it for less. At that point, stay home and do maintenance. Keep in touch with the customer every 6 month for bush hogging and eventually the guy under bidding will quit or under deliver and you can take over at fair market value. I have won many jobs this way. I’ve been doing it for 5 or so years and i still watch good content like on this channel to learn and share ideas.
Man I’m thankful that you make these type of videos it answered all my questions
Happy to hear that!
awesome advice keep up the hard work i am looking forward to getting into this kind of work.
"I got a dad bod and stuff." I subscribed just for that little bit of humor! Great video, thanks for the info!
Thank you for watching!!!
Sticking to your rates and knowing your value add is something that pertains to everything in all things sales... Let the others underbid and either take a loss or under perform... The customer will in turn learn that cheaper is not always better.
👍
Good pointers!
Hey Bro, get yourself a GoPro head camera. Hell, we don’t mind started your day with you. You’re teaching us!
I got one now but I hate wearing it 😂😂
How did you first go about finding work? Looking to get into this type of work.
Great video. Do you offer consultations. Thinking abuut starting a land clearing business here in Texas.
Clean work sites speak volumes. If its a multi-day jobe we line up our equipment nice and everything has a place. Definitely no trash left at end of day.
Hey buddy, I’m running my own setup in East Tennessee, been running into a lot of dead end leads… people waste my time coming out and looking at jobs to change their minds or never call me back, honest prices and great work. I believe in being honest and doing things the right way, sucks some times
Yes sir, gotta take the good with the bad and the bad with good! Not all days are rainbows and butterflies 😂
I have noticed more and more folks pushing back on price lately
Problem is gravel prices and dirt prices. They are wearing me out. Hard to sell
Jobs when the quarries and drivers are trying to make top dollar also.
Crush and run is damn near $1100
A
Load near us right now. Hard to sell a driveway that way lol thanks for replying back buddy and I subscribed! Keep it up.
@H2NORestorationLLC. Up here we’ve got about 6 quarries within 20 mins of each other. So they are all pretty competitive on pricing
Woodrum Racing is on board. And yes it's difficult to Vlog and work at the same time. Filming is hard but editing is even harder.
You aren’t kidding! I respect the effort you guys put in!
I kust got the kx057-5 and svl75-3 to start a small excavation business here in the Dallas Texas area. Would you mind sharing how you go about bidding your different types of jobs? That would be a huge help! Thanks
How’s it going? I’m from that area
The Otter creek farm FL channel has some business videos you might like. I will say pricing is best done by the project, never the acre. Target $125/150 hr to cover all your job expenses and insurance, maintenance, etc. $1500/day in your area and set a minimum price to avoid taking jobs where you don’t make a profit
You hit the nail on the head
Sorry man I’m now seeing this.
Look professional. Use written quotes. Be insured and let customers know this. Have good equipment. Don’t be the lowest bidder. Connect with people and deliver their vision of the outcome.
How did you find contractors that would require what you do? Is there a data base or….
Net working, I got referred by many people
How do you go about pricing a job like this or any?
That particular job we did in “phases” it actually started as a simple job and the customer kept adding things.
I suggest the excavation academy on Facebook to get really good estimating tips. Even I still consult with them to try and better my estimates
Can I schedule a call with you this week? god bless you, starting my Excavation company next month.
Absolutely man. Heck you can call me tonight if your est time.
mmearthwurxllc@gmail.com is my email. Message me and I’ll give you my number
It was super hard to hear you when you were driving bud.
I went back and turned it up way too loud to hear your voice. Congrats on doing well!
My newer videos are better! I was still learning 😂
@@MORE_DIRT359 me too brother, me too

You need an External Mic.
I agree, I’m slowly acquiring things
Did you get a business license or an LLC..
LLC and proper insurance.
@MORE_DIRT359 what happens I bought a 317g for 17ac. I own but it sits around to much, and thinking about renting it, would I need to get an S-corp..and were could I get that kind of insurance.
Call around to multiple independent insurance places that shop all sorts of insurance companies.
My insurance covers multiple states
317G is $450 per day around here easy
Thanks for the tips..
Can I get a red M&M shirt?
Helping those algorithms
I appreciate you and absolutely you can
Hey Cole! Love the videos! I shot you an email whenever you get a second to look :)
