Got it. Building it now When it comes to finishing, I will make it look like it was just lauched... beautiful shiny steel color. It is a slow careful bulid. Noticed the price is slowly creeping up too.
I may still order this kit. Its the only one I am interested in because I hate the JJ prise designs. They are way off from the Jefferies design. The USS Kalvin is however the proper pre kalvin universe as it exsisted before the whole thing was messed up. I have always hated the New Enterprise design and totally refused to but the model. The Enterprise E was the best overall design for Starships. I hated the Enterprise D and still do. I wasnt much for the Enterprise B or C Eather. It would be nice to take the Nacel design from the Enterprise NX 01 and incorporate that into the Franklin to make it more in line with the Jefferies design.I liked the NX 01.
For lighting the Franklin, check this you tube out, may be useful. “Arduino for starships - ch01”. There are 10 episodes, useful. Maybe some parts you could use.
I'm building this kit as well. The only thing that bugs me about it, is that in some parts, there is a micro grainy texture to the plastic. Especially on the bridge top and nacelle backs. I'm going to try to sand those smooth best I can without sacrificing detail. Otherwise the kit is awesome. I also made this animation that shows what the interior of the Franklin bussard looks like if you think it might be useful for you. vimeo.com/259571271/e43b013c1b
That link looks great! Hopefully, I can make a reality. I think the texture is partially the plastic they use. If you compare to the plastic on a Bandai kit, this plastic seems more poreus.
Looks good man ! ... i am going to get one too i guess eventually.
Thanks Chuck! NFM!
Sweet Tagmo lights Trek. Very cool.
Heheh. I plan on doing more Trek stuff too!

I hear ya Darth! That's why you have to get them at the beginning...heh

It is a really good, well engineered kit. I am enjoying it. Thanks for watching!
This starship looks like Next Gen mated with ST: Enterprise but I still like it but if ever I build this kit, it will have a different name.
The name is engraved into the plastic, but some putty will take care of that.
Great job man, love watching your builds. BTW did you ever finish the 1/144 Falcon?
Thanks for the kind words. I have not yet finished it.
That is so cool, looks like it goes together well!! Can I ask where you got it? All the places I order from still don't have it in stock

Others should be getting their stock in the next week or so.

I have seen those. Very useful and thanks for the tip!

I have some spots like that on mine too.
For the odd reason, this ship does nothing for me, but congratulations on your purchase.
I felt the same about the NX-01, but it looks better in person
Thanks!
