My Mom was diagnosed with dementia several years ago and I never got a chance to travel with her. You experiencing this time with your mom is precious and priceless. ❤️ Thank you for sharing these wonderful moments with your Mom.
Same here. We traveled together but not as much and as in such a cool fashion.
2 Years Later.. My dad had a stroke and forgot a lot. The time we spent together was forgotten. It's hard when family has a condition that makes them forget so much. I hope your mom had a good life.

That’s so,cool you and your mom traveled. My mom passed away last October at 94 years old.
Back in 1994, she and I drove her ‘91 Toyota Corolla from Dallas to the Grand Canyon. We stayed at Youth hostels along the way. It was a lot of fun.

When your mom said she hadn't slept in a tent my heart broke a little. Everyone should experience the outdoors, in a tent, or camping (not in a camping trailer). If you haven't -- I hope these videos inspire you to get outside and explore. Your mom did great! And she's adorable.

I so so loved this adventure with your mom. I kept cringing when your mom was hiking, what appeared to be Antelope Canyon. The curvy slender rock climbing. Cherish the moments with her. My mom is in the spirit world so this was so special to me. Thank you.
Great trip with your mother! I especially liked the Utah section (the red rock of southern Utah & the Colorado plateau is my favorite place in the world). In the early 1990"s, I also took a trip with my mother; although many of my trips were car camping adventures, this one was motel driven. My mom had never been out west, so I decided to fly into Grand Junction via Denver from Pa. We did Arches NP, the Canyonlands, Hovenweep NM and back to Grand Junction via the Million Dollar highway. As this was in the fall & the aspens were popping, it was beautiful. It was a great experience & just a bit of joy I could share with my mom. My mother passed away in 1999 but I have these great memories.
THIS! Is the best video yet! I love how your mom started out a little apprehensive then gradually throughout the trip just kept breaking out of her shell. She looked so joyful and happy, and she's lucky to have a daughter that will take her on such a grand adventure! Very happy for you both!

Your Mom is brave. Doubt that my Mom would have even roughed it like that. She traveled with her husband a lot and camped out and boondocked, but always in nice truck with a camper on top. Sure miss her. She's been gone a long time.
My mom did one time on a long road trip. We pulled over to sleep. She's tuff. We had fun.
My dear departed parents loved to travel but always stayed with friends/ family or a hotel overnight. My Mom was not going to rough it.

This road trip reminds me of the National Park trip I made with my mother and brother a few years after my father passed away. It was one of the best holidays ever.
This was wonderful, I love the closeness of your family. I went to college in the Four Corners late 80’s, Moab was a ghost town back then. We had Arches and Canyonlands to ourselves. I’m so happy to see people get outside…but hate to see the crowds.

Your mom is so cute, a natural beauty. You should've bought her some trekking poles. I'm 63 and never hike without them. They help me tackle trails I might really struggle on without them. Also great to help her footing going downhill. Really enjoyed this. She's a trooper.

OMG I just watched this video and it made me cry because I would love to take my mom on the same adventure as you did. I've been to all those places many times before but never thought of taking my mom. I think she would love it. She's almost ready to die with a heart condition, but your video has given me an idea to possibly ask her to get out and venture the outdoors again like she used to do and experience the true nature of this world as were live it.

Just finished watching all your videos and had to rewatch this one. Definitely my favorite. Earlier this year my daughter had a scary experience traveling I40, so I joined her for a couple of nights in her tiny Hiker Camper and I loved it so much I've done a simple conversion on my CVR and just finished a 3 week adventure. Can't wait to do more. Daughters can inspire moms too!

One of my happiest memories of you, was meeting your little soul mate...he was thirsty and not letting you out of his sight...he knew you loved him already and anyone who would not consider leaving pup behind, is my hero! I LOVE audiobooks, especially memoirs. I love to hear stories told in a person's own voice. I just finished "Inside Out," by Demi Moore, which was an excellent book and a very enjoyable listen. Really made me fall in love with her, and with strong women who've worked through major obstacles everywhere. Before that, Barack Obama's new memoir was wonderful, and I also VERY much recommend "Acid for the Children" by Flea. Such an amazing listen!! Enjoy!! :D
