  • Out of all the big wave spots on the planet The RIGHT takes the cake as one of the most incredible spots to film. I have waited 5 years to get this place on. It's the SLAB of Slabs. As Kipp Caddy says, 'its the Mount Everest of slab surfing'. This wave is super dangerous as it comes with the worst hold downs you can get. Like you don't want to fall here. THE RIGHT in Western Australia is a wonder of the ocean world. Watch how the locals dominate in what is one of the most exhilarating swell chase edits yet. **Don't forget the Like & subscribe buttons.

Started surfing in 1962 and was on the North Shore winter of 1968. Got scared lots, but never in my 77 year old life would I have imagined surfing waves like this. What was once thought as unrideable is the norm now. You fellas are THE BOMB.

I'm not a surfer. I watched some of the Olympic competition and happened to watch a big surf video. Nazare made me wonder how you guys survive waves that height and power. It's not for sissies but then my own profession isn't for sissies either. MS CCRN (Masters in Science, Critical Care Registered Nurse) My profession gets dangerous at times, but we don't go out on the ocean miles from land to ride 50 foot swells and get crushed when they break. I would think a place like Nazare with the waves breaking onto shallow rock at the end of a canyon would tend to get a "You have to be kidding" reaction rather than, "yeah, let's do it guys". These waves are beautiful just to watch. The power and glory of nature are so grand and raw, I could watch waves come in all day. And MAYBE go for a swim or sailing but riding them and then get beaten up? I've witnessed the power of storms up close and personal. I live in New England and we get big coastal storms in winter called Nor'easters. The only difference between a Nor'easter and a hurricane is that a Nor'easter, also called a North Atlantic winter hurricane, stays around for a few days. I've seen surf rise well over a three story house, the house didn't survive it, and seen the sea turn pale green with sand and ocean vegetation come barreling into Minot Light, 100ft tall off the eastern coast of Massachusetts, and break OVER THE TOP of the lighthouse. I have a photograph of it. I was about 1/4 mile from it. Then I went indoors and battened the hatches for what was coming. Please don't try to surf there. I don't want to be on the team that scrapes up what's left.

Here is a list of my injuries from surfing L4, l5, s1 disk bulges, torn rotator cuff, c3, c4 damage, bursitis l shoulder, torn tendons in both pinkie fingers, dislocated thumb, dislocated fingers, torn/separated rib cartilage, ligament and tendon damage to left knee. Loads of reef cuts and scars. Currently two fingers cut from reef, hit reef yesterday and bruised my hip as well.
A few skateboarding injuries to add to the mix. I think we have very different world views. I'd rather stitch and staple myself back up and regularly do so. However I know my limits and have plenty of experience in keeping myself alive. Just like everyone you see on this vlog.
