the butcher block store near me was a chain place, they sold unfinished wood furniture and other wood made kitchen items, cutting boards, wood kitchen utensils and wood flatware. It closed down years ago.
Good video. I'm seriously considering a Lynx. Have you tried doing a reverse sear on your steaks? A lot of what I've read online says it's a much better way to ensure you get the desired temp, and get a great sear crust. That's how I cook my steaks indoors (oven, then scorching hot cast iron skillet), and the results have always been great.
Thank you...Lynx is among the best available in my opinion and also highly recommended by outdoor kitchen designers and contractors. For multiple reasons. I have not tried doing reverse sear as of yet, although I recognize it's got its benefits for sure. I have essentially learned my grill, getting my steaks cooked to my liking is not difficult at all. My wife and I both prefer rare, I sear at the hottest setting for just a couple minutes using the Trident burner then move off to finish indirectly. If I use a cast iron pan, it's just something else to clean.
Hi Dan, I have the same grill but in 42 - same burner configuration. I’m trying to figure out how to get the grates clean, as yours are. Once I’m done cooking I turn up the grill, get it super hot then take a brass bristle brush to the grates and start cleaning but it doesn’t come super clean. I used the grill rescue brush utilizing steam and it didn’t work that well either. How do you clean your grill grates? Love the videos.
Hey Thanks Joe! To be 100% honest, I don't have a really sophisticated method for cleaning the grates, but what I do seems to work for me, thank you. I have never cleaned the grill just following a cook, only just prior to a cook. I let the grill heat up for 30 minutes to an hour sometimes, then, when it's too hot to even stand next to, I use a Weber brand bristle brush on the upper and lower grates. Getting the grill really hot seems to cook off 90% of the grime left behind on the grates, and brushing gets the rest. Thanks again and good luck! www.amazon.com/Weber-18-Three-Sided-Grill-Brush/dp/B08M455M22/ref=asc_df_B08M455M22/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=532423241675&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=5344547162680683640&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9030809&hvtargid=pla-1210440629179&psc=1
@@superstrut1 Thanks Dan! Seems we have a very similar method, just reversed. The trident burner I don’t even have to touch the grates as it get so hot there’s nothing to brush clean. I called Lynx just to see the recommended method and they suggested getting a brass bristle brush (for the stainless grates), get the grill to about 600-650 degrees post cook, dip the grill brush in water and then clean the grates. I’ve been doing that and it seems to be working well. Seems there’s multiple ways to skin a cat! Used my rotisserie the other day on a whole chicken I brined for 24 hours - it came incredible! Happy grilling brother.
Hey Dan been looking at LYNX.. I have been thinking of ordering the same setup that you have, but also see the advantage of all trident. Are you still happy that you have the setup or would you do it different now? I have a Big Green Egg, which i use to sear and cook on, so not sure the trident is needed... Just thought i would ask you since you have had yours.
Hey Dale, I wouldn't change anything on my setup. I use the left and center sections much more than the Trident side, but that's OK with me. The Green Egg is cool, great for cooking and searing, so why would you even need a Trident burner at all? I actually lay a fresh piece of aluminum foil over my Trident burner to place my aluminum pan on to keep it clean. I grill my meat with left and center burners and place cooked meats in the aluminum pan, like chicken wings, pork chops, etc. And you'll love the Lynx rotisserie setup, great feature. Prime Rib roast is fun! Thanks for watching, hope this helps 😀
Thanks for watching! For me, I sear with the lid open simply because I like plenty of oxygen getting to the burners which makes for a great sear. Once I remove from searing, I place ribeye or any other meat over indirect heat and then continue cooking with the lid closed.
Hey Dan, great video. I just got the 42” pro. Does the grill grate on your trident burner warp upwards at all? The three grill bars closest to the trident burners warp upwards at only medium setting on the knob for me. Just wondering if mine is defective or not.
@@HsinJChow Hey thanks. No, mine don't warp at all. And I get my grill super hot prior to steak grilling. I'll crank all 3 burners to high for 45 minutes, 750° You might want to call Lynx at Middleby Residential to discuss your situation. Sorry to hear of the warping. Good Luck!!!
Yes, I really have enjoyed the Lynx power burner. I believe it's ~45,000 BTU. I heat oil for wings and fries, cook vegetables on cast iron for fajitas, and love using the wok ring. You can cook asparagus and broccoli in the wok in 2 minutes! It's also very well made. 2 burners make temp control a breeze and the pullout tray below the burner is great for catching any bits of food or oil splash. I love it. Thanks for watching!
looks like a nice grill when when I searched for Lynx Trident Pro Grill, I saw one priced at $7,200. I couldn't even imagine paying that kind of money for a grill for use in a home, even if I was rich.
I ordered the exact same setup. Thanks for the vid!

Thanks for watching, Lynx has several models and configurations of burners.
This one is the 36 inch with Trident Pro Sear
MSRP = $5529
@@superstrut1 Woah!

A Kalamazoo is $20K. If you make that much overnight while sleeping, then you can imagine it.
