Brilliant content. Thank you for going slow and explaining how things work. I have been using freecad on and off, making extremely basic parts for my 3D printer. My biggest frustration was not being able to move the part around on my screen. I think this will be a fantastic series! I left you a donation and plan to follow up with more as we go.
Ah thank you so much for donating. And the feedback which is really usefully as I don't know if I am going to fast or slow. Thanks for supporting and have a lovely festive break.
I can see this is going to be a valuable series. Even when you think you know all there is to know, it's good to start fresh again. It also looks like as Freecad is getting tuned up and closer to the 1.0 release, it's getting faster and smoother. I've been keeping an eye on freecad for several years, and it's finally getting the attention it deserves! Thanks for the excellent videos!
Thank you for taking the time to explain how to set up the screen and adjust preferences. Other videos tend to assume you know this already and their screen setup looks nothing like what I see when I start FreeCAD 1.0. Also appreciated is that you explain when you click or right click. Sounds simple, but if I don't when to click, all I see is that mouse racing around.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write some feedback, really appreciate that as it's always useful to me to see what people like about the videos and what they are looking for :)
@@MangoJellySolutions Can confirm, you don't make any assumptions about what the user knows or doesn't know, which is PERFECT for someone who is brand new and literally knows nothing.
I have used FreeCAD off and on for more than a year and yet I had missed some of the hints that came out in this video such as the touchpad choice. The pace allows for those 'small things' that will likely make a difference later on.
fantastic series! i wonder on thing. in the Touchpad Navigation Style, how do i change a certain key? ive started to use my left hand for the mouse and would therefor like to exchange the left Alt-key (Rotate) for the right Ctrl-Key, so to have it closer to my right hand on the Keyboard. Regards
Thanks, for the updates, I was wondering, have the other tutorials of versions 0.20 and 0.21 because outdated or are they still useful to learn FreeCad?
No not at all you be pleased to hear, it's one of the things I am going over in the introduction video when I create it. I have actually future proofed those exercises somewhat as I have used traditional CAD practices that are used in all CAD packages in regards to the topological naming issue. Now freecad has put work in to fix that area rather than the user using workarounds the videos are even more relevant in that area. There will be some differences in the sketcher as new tools available that makes life easier but the workflows are all the same 😊 I didn't create the introduction video on purpose as I wanted to see people's questions in the comments so I can include some of those in the intro.
In a few videos on FreeCAD, I have seen the narrator "spin" the part CONTINUOUSLY as though on a steady motorized turntable. Is that just a video/edit trick, or does FreeCAD allow that in some way? Thanks!
Hi, The Video is Good, Can I know how to add the Configuration tab into the FreeCAD A2 Plus Assembly only the dimensions are changing in part with configuration tab But that configuration tab is not available in Assembly Could you please help me with that
I am working on #1 as that will be a introduction and installation. I need to get some videos from the series done first so I can add some snips. And also answer questions regarding the series that have come up in the comments. On the community tab of my channel there is a post regarding the series for now and a general weekly builds installation video within the playlist.

Good videos like this can be viewed over and over again without boredom. Thanks!
Thank you :)
Great series. I haven't used FreeCAD in a while so this is a great way to jump back in. Thank you for sharing!

Nice to see your return 😊 Glad you're enjoying.
Very well explained. Other video series I've looked at completely gloss over this important topic.
Glad it was helpful and thank you for the feedback. Really appreciated. 👍

Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for posting.
Glad I could help 👍👍👍
Thank you Dqrren for your great content!
OMG!! I think I'm learning something!!!😵💫
I am loving this!
Thanks again, Mango Jelly. You are helping me lay a solid groundwork for understanding FreeCAD.
For those migrateing from Fusion 360. The Revit navigation style is equivalent to fusions scheme.
Thank you for adding that, that’s really useful to know and I would like to mention that in future videos.

any idea if the path workbench has been upgraded at all?
Yes I believe Brad C is working on it, beware it's now been renamed to CAM.

Ah so that is feature, go to the top menu, tools menu, view turntable
