I’m a UCR graduate and I loved my time there mostly cause I’m just a studious guy (and frugal hence why I really thought twice about other colleges) and didn’t care about partying or location (also helps to live in the IE and knew it). People don’t realize that any UC will still give you a top tier education, when comparing them to each other people get lost in the semantics of who has better professors and the incremental differences you can get depending of course on majors. I was an English major so honestly it didn’t matter where I went, I’d get the same education lol. Good video (my brothers went to Berkeley and said it was really really fun but challenging)
I met my wife at UCLA and got three degrees there. Since I had attended UCLA prenatally (my mother got pregnant during her third year there) and grown up in west Los Angeles, UCLA was the logical place for me to go. Fortunately, acceptance rate was somewhat higher back then, although it helped that I was a high school valedictorian.
Thank you for the updated info! The rankings and acceptance rates in this video are all from the link below for reference. www.usnews.com/best-colleges/rankings/national-universities
Using US news and world report is biggest problem with all these rankings. That ranking system is so flawed. It is absolutely useless. The best way to look for school is to go visit and find the one that fits you. And if you have to live with using ranking, try looking at school with the most National Academy members on staff as faculty.
@Vulcan-fo5gjdang you aint have to roast him. But yeah rankings have changed. Davis came up to 6th ana Merced came up to 28 beating out Riverside and Santa Cruz. Ngl year over year UCs in general just remain some of the nations best schools
I wanna get into tier1-2 UC only for MTech in 2027 can you make a guide video for me for this that would be soo helpful for me I am from India and currently Pursuing my BTech from a public university.
I like how uc merced had a whole dif tier lol
🤭 my worst fear is to be like UC Merced.
@@danielx40why, just bc it’s not in LA 😂😂
I giggled a little when you called Davis a small campus. Davis has the MOST acreage of any other UC campus. The campus is HUGE.
👆🏽 was thinking the same 😂 great video none the less.

UC Davis is literally the largest campus.

Many thanks for putting together this very fundamental information for the parents of high school kids.
Nice video, I got accepted to UCSC and UCD, but Im still waiting for other colleges.
That's awesome! Congrats and best of luck :)
UC San Diego has an acceptance rate of 23 percent in 2022.
Yeah I realized that the acceptance rates in the video are pretty outdated
But most of everything else seems accurate
From what Ive read and learned about online so far

UC Davis is the 3rd best UC according to the University of California website rankings itself.

UC Merced is 60th nationally and ranks 28 as a public college according to the UC website.

Don’t go to any of these for undergrad. You’re only paying for the name and the quality of education is inferior to a CSU.
What’s up with the tier thing @.@ who gave those tier ranking
