I seriously doubt that any countries that are in already members of NATO want to go to war. Giving Ukraine NATO membership would cause just that, and that would be political suicide for any leader. I suppose helping Ukraine, but I definitely don’t want the war to escalate into WWIII.

When the war is over Ukraine should be admitted; otherwise do you want your Canadian young men going off to war in Ukraine? And one of the main sticking points about why Ukraine couldn’t join NATO is because of its corruption problems. It will need to clean house before the current NATO members would even consider letting Ukraine join the alliance.

Easily fooled people. NATO has refused to put boots on the ground due to escalation but Ukraine joining NATO is possible? When will that be? After the war when there is only Western part of Ukraine and is used mostly as a buffer zone? @@TankandDimples Without artillery shells, without an anti-air system, the Ukrainians are forced to suffer high losses in both manpower and technology. Kherson and Kharkov will not happen again, because the Russians now have a much larger number of soldiers than then.
