If more people used mathematics in league, they'd understand a lot of LoL nerfs are psychological.
August has admitted this is a thing, very low impact nerfs to change minds on the meta and shift it despite not much changing at all.
Mainly because the people who make the decisions in the teams are not smart about champions. Sounds weird as it is their jobs but there are many paycheck stealers
been saying this for 5+ years. pro like oh this champ lost 3 ad its unplayable. nah just cope
It’s like FPS games when devs change the gun recoil a bit that actually has no impact, it affects your feelings on the gun.

@@dm4226 In MF's case it's actually the BT nerf that hurt the most. She was the only champ next to Draven who 1st item BT every game so the first item spike is gone. That and her two best combo partners Rell & Lilia is nerfed as well. The -3AD also hurts her passive amp too so last hitting will be noticeably harder early. MF will not be appearing this Worlds.
I mean, its important to remember that LS's tier lists are never what he thinks will be picked, but what he thinks is theoretically the best even if it doesn't get picked.
In other words LS tierlists are always dogshit and they never come true.

And they often do come true, just with a very big delay. Don't get me wrong, he is not right about everything, but he is right about a lot of stuff. Be it Liandries, Ivern or camera movement, the guy is often a few years ahead of what we see in pro play. So I find listening to his takles and his view of the game VERY interesting.
Dude is just getting satisfaction out of putting out a tier list completely different than everyone else's. First, if it's only theoretical, then... Ok, who the fuck cares then ? People watch Worlds tier list to know what will be picked at Worlds. No one cares about Warwick and Janna top, buddy. Second, let's admit only theory is ok. What is he basing himself on when talking about such niche picks? He says Rumble is counterpicked by Fiddlesticks top. Let's check top match-ups, oh, indeed Fiddle has a 100% winrate against Rumble in FIVE GAMES TOTAL (Diamond+, global). Amazing analysis, very relevant. Third, even putting aside the theoretical aspect, he just has completely random takes that go against every metric. Shen jungle ? 45% winrate. Lillia still Z? Caedrel just disproved that. His LB hate is unjustified, the champion was perma banned against DK all split, and almost carried KT to Worlds in G5. I don't dislike LS, I found some of his opinions very interesting, but other times I simply think he's being different for the sake of being different. High highs, low lows.

2.) I mean, he does have a very deep understanding of the game and talks to many other people who also have a deep understanding of the game. When he says that a champ is strong, there usually is a valid reason for it. Doesn't mean he is always right, you can only go so far using theory alone, but he is right often enough to take his theorycrafting very seriously. Predicted that Ivern was strong for years, argued for f keys before anyone used them or most famously: The Liandries situation. Also, he does often practically test his ideas too, he is not just talking out of his ass.
3.) Thats an appeal to authority fallacy. And if you are really good or enemies don't properly abuse the weaknesses of your champ you can make very suboptimal picks look very OP. I can't argue for or against LB, I could make steel men for both sides of the argument, but just saying "Its good because a good team won with it" is not a good argument.
Maybe he sometimes is different for the sake of being different, but as I said, often there are good things behind what he says. And he generally does invite actual discussion and lets the people around him call his BS, so its not like his more crazy ideas dont get challanged. Those pro tier lists especially are done with the help of actual pros and former pros. Thats why in my book his takes have a ot of merit and do warrant being taken seriously-

He got it from visualizing how the matchup plays out and talking to challenger fiddle and rumble players. There have been times where he consults two different one tricks of each respective champ to evaluate the match up or to even demonstrate what he's saying. LS was hyping up Nasus for years before he's now finally being picked in pro-play despite barely receiving any changes. He demonstrated its power in a support role against T1 Academy a couple years ago and he wasn't even a Nasus one trick lol

LS is mostly wrong in most cases, he was just one of the first people who decided to try and analyze League in depth and show it to the world, thus coming up with specific terms and concepts that were unknown to the casual players at the time. Because of that, people thought he was some sort of genius who knows everything. Then, as people got smarter about the game and learnt more about how it works, they realized that most of what LS said was complete dumbassery that is either plainly wrong or just cannot be applied realistically.
Thing is, he managed to gather a lot of believers, mostly people who couldn't ever critically think and judge if whatever LS said is right or wrong, they just blindly swalloed everything he was saying and yeah, we reached this point now that finally he is kinda irrelevant, his views are pretty widely considered dumb and no one really takes him, his tierlists or his theorycrafting seriously anymore.

I think there was some statement from Riot themselves a couple years ago. They stated something like: "We think his Kit and Abilities are pretty toxic and should never be strong enough for proplay" You can probably find this somewhere, but unless they change their opinion, we will never see Zed in a super strong state for long.
If he’s good in proplay it usually means he’s disgustingly strong in soloq. Very unlikely unfortunately

They thrive in soloQ because everything is uncoordinated but as soon as teams act smart and don't isolate their carries, assassins fall off super hart. Bad waveclear, bad sieging, 0 utility for most, only high single target damage and no chance vs Jax/Yone/Gwen/Camille in sidelane.

LS is a moron. Kat sucks in every elo. She is too hard for low elo players mechanically, and too easy to dodge, kite, lock down, and one shot in high elo. Her ult is so easy to move away from and she is standing still for 3 seconds while doing it, so good luck living while being a standing target dummy after pressing r.
The fun part about worlds is that always some team bring some ramdon pick and the meta evolves, like Beryl with range supports or yuumi in 2021, even T1 last year with Jhin, Bard and Varus shit.

Sej's base kit is just too strong. She will never not be picked unless she gets absolutely gutted or completely reworked. She might fall out of priority of like a top 123 pick, but she'll never go below like a top 5 or top 7-8 pick.
Mao will be flexed either top, jungle or support. His ult is one of the most powerful ults in the game. Vi also has good synergy with Yone so I don’t think she’s going anywhere too.

I disagree with LS putting her that low, but she's B at best. She can 1v9 smurf in the right hands (i.e. top regions vs play-in teams) but is a lot easier to play against when the teams are even.
She requires essentially you or your team to play better, aka get leads to function, and even after starting a snowball she dies once and it's like hitting a brick wall, she can be oppressive when her conditions are met yes but she puts a massive risk on the game, if you pick Leblanc because the enemy team is worse well then why not just play normal and win in a stable way instead of putting the game at a way higher chance of being thrown

@@timerunhistory2604yeah. The effort to impact ratio in LeBlanc vs Yone was brutal. LB was on life support despite playing really really well for majority of the game and then she died once and became completely useless. While Yone was a like ticking time bomb feeling and being much more of a threat despite being camped, bullied and like 0-3. These series really illustrated well why ls doesn't like LeBlanc. She can be 10-0 and you can still easily lose control of the game while actual good champs can be a factor even despite some mistakes or poor execution there and there.
LS doesn't like champions that require you to win lane and snowball like LB or Renekton, he wants you to pick champs that go even and scale.
I really just wish EU / NA would just play their own game. I swear they would have better chances picking for fun or comfort then trying to copy cat whatever is hot in korea/ china.

@@gravitybr3aker_-237ye this was worlds patch, so a lot of the buff and nerf was mainly from pro play and setting up for worlds, when rumble have been a must pick/ban on redside for like 2 year now, you would have expected it to been nerf a long time ago. And in pro play there really no counter to blind first pick rumble
Rumble isn't bad necessarily now, it's just that maybe AP mid laners are coming back, and then if you also have Rumble in top, you completely lack physical damage, considering Ziggs can also exist. Basically, it might force a meta where you can only play Rumble or Ziggs, therefore there won't be that high prio for Rumble anymore.

Zeka upset with this meta because Yone is such an easy permaban now. I think it actually really hurts him that banning Yone won't be a boon for his teams draft anymore, or something that might not happen. Obviously it's not the only champion he could play but it's probably his best.

@@EverTruu Zeka's obviously a very good mid but I think he usually performs best on melee mids like Sylas, Akali, and Yone. In my mind those are his 3 best champs. Doesn't mean he'll just int if he can't play them but he almost always looks like one of the best in the world whenever he gets to play melee mids and they're in a good spot in the meta.
