I like how Arthur is technically the bad guy in this story. Gammon is the rival company of Monogon. So they send him in as a double-agent to go in and shut MythOS down permanently, but he's enticed by the promise of immortality in the void, and deviated from his original mission. At the end when Alora shows him the Gammon drive, she's showing that she snitched on him, and the Sabrelake agents are on their way to find him. Ok I know I’m late to the party... but can someone explain what happens in the 2nd cutscene? Because he clearly isn’t REAL Ford, he is in game (force pull, actually moving, the suit, etc. But he comes out of some VR experience, to do that, then goes back into the VR session... And that’s where virtual Ford is, but he uses the headset to connect to mythos? Sorry, I was very confused about this cutscene and what it means, and can’t find a video that explains it...
I think you've basically got it, Arthur isn't in MythOS itself. I think there's a reason he had to be in that specific room to do what he had to do, and after being kicked out of MythOS he became desynchronised with his real self. At this point he realises that there's no going back and he has to enter the void.
Obviously I can't say for sure, but going off what I knownit's essentially Ford having a moment where he's like "It's working!" When he gets up and looks back at the chair, it's him realizing that he's been separated from his real world body, and he's halfway to the voidway. Him flexing his fingers is probably just him getting used to his VR body. Essentially he knows that he's in the voidway, he just isn't fully at the point where his consciousness can live on in the void, which is why he puts the headset back on
He put it there so he could use it in the virtual world. I'm guessing once you enter the virtual world the current time in the real world gets transported to your own time in the virtual world.
No he achieved immortiatly thanks to the void that's what he was trying to do the whole time. He is a double agent working for gammon, gammon and Monogon are competing companies and gammon figures out how to exploit the void and become immortal in the vr world so that means if you die in the real world but already achieved immortality you would be stuck in the vr world and that's what Arthur Ford wanted to do
Ford is a double agent working for Gammon, an adversary company to Monogon. Gammon wanted to exploit the Void to achieve immortality, which Ford wanted to do as well, so he took it upon himself to access the Time Tower and use it as a route to the Void.
