In this video I list 6 of my favourite calisthenics moves. Specifically, these are movements that offer a significant stimulus for muscle growth and strength while ALSO being technical progressions towards advanced skills.
There is a difference between doing lots of high-rep push ups and being able to handstand push up. These are entirely different skills and modalities, with completely different benefits. How do you transition from one to the other? While still building muscle and feeling like you've gotten. good workout?
In this video, I attempt to answer that question. This also serves as something of a complete workout - offering pushing movements, pulling movements, core training, rotational work, and leg training.
Let me know what you think of the list gang! What are your favourite calisthenics movements? - Навчання та стиль

Hey Adam quick question. I've been training full-body bodyweight workouts for years and my joints are sore now. How do you deal with sore joints? I'm thinking of splitting my workout up into a bro split to give the joints more time between the same moves.
Hey Bioneer, i want to say that i love your channel and im saying this to help. But i think one of the reasons your views are declining is because of your thumbnails, they arent really engaging. Primarily the collor choice. Especially the bluish and yellow colors dosn’t really go together. Again i may not be right, but saying this because i want to help you🙂
Timestamps please!

Love the "(this is a pull up...)" on the thumbnail, that is absolutely necessary
How so?
@@ddsdwedqwed362 Because despite being very good for neck hypertrophy neck hanging is a very dangerous exercise.
over 3 decades in USG service and have seen a lot in the pursuit of strength and agility - Bioneer is the only source you need for functional fitness, period
Is working for a government bona fides for critiquing fitness trainers, now?
the fact you are using the term functional and speaking as if from a position of authority is hilarious
💯 co-sign. the one of two channels I've ever recommended. his library is the most valuable source of fitness on here.
How much growth hormone do you think he's on?
No, you arent in "USG service", bud. 😂
Thumbnail looks like u did the classic rope on the ceiling exercise
LOL
In 0:57, he is doing a triple jump squad. It has been so long since i see one executed so perfectly.

Props to the jet set radio opener 👍, great vid!

Your videos are awesome, mate.
Very nice thanks.
I love overloading the psuedo planche pushup with parallettes and furniture sliders
Thanks! Yes please to more content like this 😊🙏👌
we definitely need a second video like this one
the thumbnail is always a catch in my Dashboard.. I love Adam's love for the details..
Looks like he hanged himself lol
The drive to 1 million subs is on. 👊
As I said in your Instagram post, try the pendulum sissy squat if you want to focus more on strength, mobility and knee health and less on balance :)
Though both variations are great in their own right, of course.
How would you structure this in to a weekly program,? And help or tips would be appreciated thank you, also channel is fantastic!
Yo, I'd absolutely love to see you do one of these videos and s&c for mma, muay thai etc
I heard that jet set radio music at the start and knew this video was gonna be a banger
Very good
Bro that thumbnail...
i would be game for more of these types
dang, you need one million subs.
JSRF, good taste.
Pulling the chest to the bar doesn't require an arch and it might put you into a pseudo front lever at the top.
The execution is slightly different depending on your grip, with a closer grip allowing you to get higher up while working your wrist pronators.
Also, you not only want to engage your core but to fully extend your toes and squeeze your knees together.
Top 6 bodyweight moves
Move 1 - WRYYYYYYYYYY pose
ゴゴゴゴゴ
... Blud gave up his humanity to be able to do that. >)X^D
Manual labor!
Lets say i do construction or yard work most days for hours. I want to also work out.
How?
What body parts can be strengthened and given a break after a long days work? How can they be stretched or recovered for the next work day?
I swear this guy reads my mind? I wanted a more kettlebell based workout and he dropped videos on it. Now I've been thinking about calisthenics recently he drops this one
Another great chalistenic exercise is dragon pistol squat,I think that one is the hardest leg exercise with only your body weight as it involves so many mechanics, like everything in your body is put to work, you need strength, mobility, flexibility, balance, endurance,it's just so many things into only 1 thing
Hey Adam, great video as always! Not to hate but that thumbnail briefly made me think someone hung themselves.
Haha omg I somehow didn’t see that! 😂😅 Do you think I need to change it??
Nah honestly together with the title + subject I think it's more than clear what the actual intent was. Just the first thing that popped into my mind! 😂😅
I'm still working on having enough ankle and hip mobility to do a pistol squat but in the meantime I can hold a 20 pound(wtf is a kilometer?!?) kettlebell in my outstretched arms and complete the movement. That way I can work on the strength and mobility at the same time
Notification gang
oh, it's a pull up, shame.
I was really excited to learn how to levitate xD
I started doing arch backed pull-ups a few months ago and I can now hold a half front lever for about 20-30 seconds. Did no training for this other than the arched back pull-ups
To me, calisthenics has always been push-ups, pull-ups, lunges, etc. This whole “bodyweight” thing is still pretty recent. But I also remember when Matt Fuery’s Combat Conditioning and Pavel’s Naked Warrior books first came out. This was before gymnastics skills started getting popular.
so for me the difference between the two, is the high rep movements are done as a single movement. ie you do lots of push ups, then you rest. where calistinics is where you do multiple moves as a single rep (unless you are learning)

Smooth criminal!

Reminds me of someone insta
Could have linked the channels you mentioned, or at least dropped them in a pinned comment?
just search for them, sondre berg, fitness faqs, tom merrick
RIP
comment for the algo
the thumbnail is abit unlucky
This thumbnail is not it 💀
Planche push ups feel way more natural than regular
one thing i would like to say though is that lifting your legs off even just a little(in the pike lift off) is impossible for almost all beginners
ive been training calisthenics for 6 months now and i still dont have the shoulder strength to be able to do that, all of us just need to keep working on pike pushups
Try not even lifting them but just shifting your weight onto your hands as much as you can to make them “light.” Also consider adding reverse hypers, if this is something you’d like to be able to do 👍🏻
@@TheBioneer thanks for the advice, and yes i did start reverse hypers and i saw a lot of progress in my posterior chain strength
I didn't read the title and thought bro commited suicide 😂😂
Guys what's wrong with the thumbnail? It's looks fine
That thumbnail...
You need ems machine and figure out your fasting as well also do all you do for God and go further but the ems after your work out and a cold bath after words but be careful and don't go extreme and go slow into it
You look so huge !
Ummm... many beginners can't do a push up. The pike lift-off "even a little bit off the ground" is still fantasy
Im assuming all the comments involving the thumbnail are bots... Theres a lot more than I imagined
thumbnail had me thinking this was some real old video til i realized someone in 5-10 years will see this comment and think this comment is a real old comment
why are workout youtubers all short?
I’m 5’8”. Not tall but I wouldn’t go as far as “short”…
Is semen retention fun?
Odd claim that there is a difference between bodyweight exercise and calisthenics. 😂
The videos are too long, you talk too much, I think it would be more descriptive and effective if you politely showed the movements by numbering them in the videos and then commented on them and the subtleties of the gameplay of the video.
Whenever you do pullups you should lock your legs and squeeze them together so they dont flail around like a noodle. It adds stability to the movement and takes away some of the strength/energy leak during the movement. Plus it looks a LOT better visually.
I used to do sternum pull ups with closer grip cause i was looking to involve more lats. I added difficulty imaging to pull lower than the sternum, to make the motion similar to a lat pull down.
It worked great, if i may be so bold🪵
