It's Ironic that vikes have been looking for a franchise QB for almost 20 years and just when you think you drafted one, another QB just falls into your lap that looks like one. ❤❤❤❤❤
I think it's funny how the National media is calling the Vikings an elite team now, when a couple of weeks ago they weren't getting much attention at all.
For no good reason I felt great about Darnold before the season. I've liked him more and more every week and seeing him hoisted up by his teammates, doused in water after sweeping the packers I think he's our guy. You can't let a guy like that walk away.
I loved the JJ McCarthy pick. Still think he ends up the best QB in the draft. That said, give Darnold all the money. He's playing like a top 5 QB and it ain't number 5.
Make no mistake, Detroit is still a dangerous team, even with injuries. The Vikes need to come out and play mistake free football. Playoffs, here we come!
We didn’t have cash man for lions first time around. That was a big key factor in the matchup be their offense. It will be a close one still but I feel a lot better than last time
Here's what's really interesting to me about the Campbell quote... esp in contract to KOC... Campbell is justifying his decision because he does't want to deal with the "critics." KOC has repeatedly stated that he doesn't listen to the "critics" on the outside - they simply do what they need to do to win. Campbell likes to portray himself as this macho tough guy but this quote and this decision seemingly shows is insecurity and weakness. It's really KOC who is the strong one here. It's all bluster and image for Campbell. Not for our coach.
This! Campbell cares too much about his image and upholding it to the media/fanbase. It's already backfired before. Now it's gonna ruin them, which is hilarious and deserved 😂
We just got to win it all this time - I'm getting older been waiting long time - all of us who remember seeing the Vikings Super Bowls so long ago - Skol Vikings - we can do it C'mon
I'm 64 & have spent 50+ years rooting for the Vikes, so I think I can identify with how you're feeling. :) Having said that, I am extremely pleased with how the entire Vikings organization is on a path towards becoming 'championship calibre'. So, if the Vikes don't win it all this year, I know that - with just a few upgrades & re-signing most FAs - it is only a matter of time before the Vikes win it all. I feel that this team can do it this year (assuming no key 'alien abductions'), but I am even more confident that the Vikes can be NFL Champs within the next few years, as long as Kwesi A-M keeps gettin' it done! SKOL!
I'm 67, it's been a long haul since my childhood in Mankato. The Vikings are the only NFL team I've ever rooted for and that will obviously never change. Love the one game mentality KOC is using. I actually feel yesterday's game was the tougher game, but the Lions are also a very good team. Focus like we have been and beat them in their house! Let's do this!
This is something to consider: The Timberwolves after years of futility finally found a great team last season. Then the management decided to tinker (I know its more complicated) with the starters. I am sure a lot of people said the Twolves would be at least as good or even better. Wrong! Now the Vikings are in the same position as the TWolve were last season. How long have the Vikings been waiting for this opportunity? Is the answer to change the Vikings during the off-season and expect better results?
I love Darnold’s question about LFG to Brady … a little poke at Tom without realizing it; especially after Tom kept calling some of Sam’s throws easy, average, or bad during BG the game. Sam is a gunslinger … love it!
Always a great game when we beat the Pack. Now it's time to get ready for a Safari trip so we can bag a Lion for our 2024 trophy case. As an aside, I agreed with Brady, that the smart thing was for the Pack to take the 3 points. I began watching football when Lombardi was coaching the Pack, he never went for a first down if a field goal was available, unless he had no choice. Yet, as a Viking fan, I was ecstatic they went for it on 4th, because I knew they would be stuffed. As usual it ended up much closer than I liked, yet we got the win.
You cannot let Darnold leave.. He's done more in 1 season then Cousins did with 6 seasons... Cousins could never win the big or must win games.. 1 playoff win?? Darnold has proven himself.. Hes able to win those prime time games or the big must win games.. not only does he win he ups his game in those big ones.. We need to keep him no matter what happens this season..
Hey Andy. A couple of thoughts: 1. Yes, I totally agree, I know that - for me - yesterday's game represented just 'one step in the process' against a very good team (yes, the GGGBPs are good IMHO), and one more step up the 'Alpha ladder'....rather than a divisional rivalry being settled. 2. I wonder if Tucker Kraft would have intentionally taken out Pat Jones' knees IF Harrison Smith did not get called for a (bogus) low block. Tucker Kraft may have been motivated by revenge...i.e. anger based on assuming the hit by Smith was a dirty one, when it was not. Bottom line: Bad calls by officiating crews DO influence games & seasons, and no-one should believe otherwise! 3. KOC looked like he was ready to choke-up during his post-game presser, as he talked about that wonderful scene in the locker room. Yes indeed Andy, I am sure he is feeling like a proud father & a head coach with a vision that is 90% reality, but I wonder if he was also intent on enjoying it as much as possible - trying hard to burn every detail from moments like that into his memory, because he knows that success for NFL coaches & players is a fragile thing (as we all witnessed last year). SKOL!!!
Even though it not feasible think we could carry 13 qbs on the 53 Man and some guys would rather be our 13th over starting or being number 2 on other teams
Love that Greenard called this block out on Kraft. Harrison Smith’s was a textbook block and a horrible call … even the ref on the broadcast said it was a good block.
I understand the vitriol, but Kirk Cousins has never been accused of being a bad teammate. I'm not going to speculate on the sideline arrangement based on a single picture. He chose to walk away from the Vikings, and it has worked out great for us. There's no need to keep carrying the grudge. Everyone thinks they would choose the team over money, but most people don't have the opportunity to make 100 million dollars.
Idk they are the Lions. The franchise has been the laughingstock of the league for 30 years for a reason. Wouldn't surprise me at all if they operated on emotion and for headlines bc that's all they ever do. Campbell would rather do this even though it's stupid because it's "badass" or something versus the smart play.
The longest winning streak that the Vikings franchise experienced was in 1969. They lost their 1969 Season opener against the Giants and Regular Season finale against the Falcons. In that season, the Vikings won 12 games.
I'm still a beliver that KOC is the main reason Darnold is as good as he is. I'm just going to say that whoever he chooses going forward will be best for the team. I hope it's JJM simply because we will be able to make the whole team that much better.
Hopefully we can get away from the Offense/Defensive prevent while we have a lead 🤨😒 so frustrating watching our offense 3&out when we need to eat more clock and score more.. and the defense lets the opposing teams walk down an score
You can just tell how much more the team enjoys playing for and with Sam. You can tell hes actually part of the team and is a peer whereas Kurt, even with Kirko Chainz, it always felt a little off and it wasnt as genuine. At least for me. There was always something that felt off and now we know why lol.
i think if they lose tonight, then if vikes/lions tie (unlikely, but possible) then vikes get #1 seed.. but if lions win tonight , then they would get the #1 seed if they tie with the vikes.. right? if so, then you can't say tonight's game is 'meaningless'
Does the Darnold story/timeline remind anyone else of the Kurt Warner story? It's certainly not a direct parallel, but Warner had been written off as much as Darnold had been. It's kind of eerie.
Sign sam to a 2yr 60 million dollar deal with 30 mill guranteed and see where it goes and let jj back him up. If sam wins the superbowl, lock him up long term and trade jj for draft capital for a rb or a cb and have daniel jones as his backup and case closed. Why would sam want to leave and ruin his only shot at a hof career and go to another dumpster fire of a team like he did before. Just saying guys. I dont think sam is money hungry luke kirk was
Nah, I believe he'll sign for less than that out of respect and loyalty. I don't think he would want to be passed around again into a world of uncertainty, plus he'll know that it'll be for the greater good of the team, as they'll be able to apply that cap to enhance the o line (better for him) and any other niche pieces (maybe a fleet of young buck CB's/safeties to pass the torches to when it's time). This team is championship ready though 🤘🤘 One can have hope.. 🤞

After seeing how the team embraces Sam as theyre leader we should sign him back. Its going to take 50 mil a year though. 2 year deal with 3rd year option
I still think tag and play him. If he’s still playing better than JJ at the end of next season extend him and get a 1st round pick for JJ. Preferably somewhere in the AFC.
You bet believe Campbell is gonna have something cooked up for this game especially with less resources in the backfield and the way MIN DEF just put Love to sleep on Sunday but I’m confident Flores is gonna throw every thing we got at them and the biggest key to victory is out rush them and don’t let Goff get the ball out quick I would like to see packages with Cash and Pace out there together someone has to cover flats every play if there were any weakness of this D it would be the screen pass and OFF has to score 30+ Save Jones for the homestretch give Akers majority of carries 1st half Nailor at least 8 targets Ham most offensive snaps all season
I thought chop blocks on D lineman is illegal. GB's tackle flops on Harrison to draw that BS call and then they don't call Kraft on an obvious chop. The refs tried to help GB. Kraft is a punk and will get his!
Yea. That officiating was trash. Bad call on the low blow. Missed PI (one each way). Bad PI called wrongly. Missed low blow call for real this time. And at least 4 holds (3 on MN 1 on GB) two of which were on scoring plays. Really bad officiating. GB benighted about 70:30 of these. It was rough
The game against SF tonight is not a meaningless game for the Lions. if they lose to SF, they will drop to 13-3, and a tie aganst the Vikings on Sunday would give them a 13-3-1 record, compared to the Vikings 14-2-1, so they would lose the NFC North and become the fifth seed. Unlikely, but possible.
Everyone sees the wrestler dude in Dan Campbell.. lol.. I see people referencing Hulk Hogan, but I kinda always saw a not-so-cool stone cold.. should we just start calling him.. Stoned Hogan ? 🤔🤷😂
We don't need guess about what Kwesi will do with our QBs? How about this, Franchise Sam, have a QB competition ...let the best guy win.... Trade the other guy and have Dan Jones his back up. Done and dusted? AM I missing anything reasonable?
Dude, don't try to change Campbell's mind! Let him play his starters tonight and if any of them gets injured, that's not our problem. Not sure why you're bitching and moaning about Campbell's decision to play his starters tonight. 🤔
Before yesterday's game, Jacobs averaged 81 yards per game. Ironically, the Vikings averaged giving up 81 yards a game. Vikings had their way with him. Vikings' D took him out of the game and forced Love to pass. Just how B-Flo drew it up! .
Never liked Kirk after i figured out who he was. He is a choker who panics when the game is on the line. Talented sure, but just didnt have IT. Could Kirk have won a superbowl, sure, but not with the Vikings, it would have had to be a better team then he was a part of that would have carried him a bit. Darnold has shocked me in that it SEEMS that he has IT, i am still cautious, but next week will prove if he does or doesnt.
I also wish they had no losses, then they'd be undefeated. We're easily much better than the Chiefs who need the refs to carry them deep into the playoffs with only 1 loss.
It's Ironic that vikes have been looking for a franchise QB for almost 20 years and just when you think you drafted one, another QB just falls into your lap that looks like one. ❤❤❤❤❤

Dallas turner got another sack. He's turning into a gem.
He’s been making the most of his opportunities
Sitting another year would be good for JJ. Gives him more time to heal properly and be on the sidelines to learn more
I wouldn't want him just sitting out. Let him play if we're way ahead or way behind, give him some playing opportunities to show what he has.

Less ints?
Darnold's aggressiveness which sometimes results in an int is also what makes him good. His pocket presence and willingness to air it out is elite.
After seeing how Zimmer and Cousins are doing this year, makes you wonder if those two were holding this team back.

It's better to be QB rich than QB poor.

That cousins thing was the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard coming from a fan of u btw
Dude, don't try to change Campbell's mind! Let him play his starters tonight and if any of them gets injured, that's not our problem. Not sure why you're bitching and moaning about Campbell's decision to play his starters tonight. 🤔
Can we stop the kirk hate hes not here anymore. Move on
😂
Haven't heard people say how the Vikings stopped one of the best run teams and josh jacobs help that man to 69 yards.
Before yesterday's game, Jacobs averaged 81 yards per game. Ironically, the Vikings averaged giving up 81 yards a game. Vikings had their way with him. Vikings' D took him out of the game and forced Love to pass. Just how B-Flo drew it up!
.
Your rant about KC is hogwash
First order of business in Detroit: keep everyone healthy please.
Vikings will have to win 13 straight games to win the Super Bowl. They have 9 now. I almost wish they had a loss in there somewhere.
I also wish they had no losses, then they'd be undefeated. We're easily much better than the Chiefs who need the refs to carry them deep into the playoffs with only 1 loss.
