@@rogalcorn734 i doubt it. It will be designed more to run in tandem with them though, not operating on its own in a vacuum. The Raptor is a great fighter but has fewer missiles while running in stealth configuration due to external weapon pylons would destroy the stealth characteristics of it. The same can be said for the F 35, however the F 35 suffers from other issues due to it’s multirole nature keeping it from standing out in any specific role. If memory serves correctly, the F15 carries 8 air to air missiles while being capable of carrying 4 air to ground missiles at the same time. These ATGM’s can be swapped out for bombs as well if close air support is required. This is a considerable payload to be able to contribute to a combat zone at a fraction of the cost of the modern aircraft. The new upgrades will also allow it to integrate with the radar networks usually deployed in combat zones, giving those air to air and air to ground missiles a range that is quite phenomenal. Also the new electronic warfare systems arent designed to hide it on it’s own. It will join an antire network of systems aimed at hindering enemy radar systems from finding US aircraft. So to answer your question, if a lone new F15 were to attack a sufficiently well developed nation its own, its own systems won’t be sufficient to hide it from radar detection. However within the way the US carries out air operations, the upgraded will most likely be sufficient to enable it to do its job.
Even though the SU27 has flown far fewer combat sorties than F15's, more SU27s have been lost in combat than F15's. The SU27 is a good plane but Russian pilots have inferior training with far fewer hours flying time than NATO pilots, and Russian maintenance is also inferior, with problems with spare parts availability and quality problems caused by corruption. The Russian military has two enemies- the foe they are actually fighting, and corruption which is a very powerful enemy.
the F15 has also never really faced a peer air combatant in its history 99% if it's combat history is against Insurgents and a country that turned off most of its air defenses and grounded its air force (in fact the vast majority of the F15s combat record is against jets made in the 50s and early 60s) the most modern jet ever downed by an F15 was a Syrian Mig-29......Mig-29s that were purposely downgraded by the soviet government for export also where did you get maintenance as an issue? because according to the DOD Russian Air and ground maintenance Crews have done things considered impossible by NATO maintenance crews (such as Mark rutte talking on Russian ground maintenance Crews being able to return 70-80% of all damaged or destroyed vehicles back to service) even Mark Milley talked on how Russian maintenance teams aren't like US maintenance teams that have to work with what is in the field, a lot of Russian maintenance depots work directly with factory manufacturers to get parts directly to the front, rather than waiting for parts to go to a depot be cataloged and slowly rolled out to ground crews

Holy porn bots there are so many I've got a feeling the f 35 might win not based on abilities just purely on how like 5 f35s could be teaming up on each su27
Bro if 5 f35 can team up on a su27 just to win, that would mean that if 5 su27 would just randomly spawn in the f35 would get obliterated as well. I don’t get your point I think
@tubois2025 The point is there are enough F35s to outnumber Russia's entire air fleet 5:1. At that point it doesn't really matter how good the SU-27 is (not very) nor how skilled Russian pilots are (also not very).
@@thrasher698 ah so there’s 630 f35 that have been built for the us as of now and there were 680 su 27 built in total, not including the extended flanker family like the su 33 or the su35. On the other hand the f35 A/B/C are combined in the total number. I don’t think comparing a brand new aircraft to an aging/almost retired airframe is suitable for a serious discussion nor should be considered as a reliable comparison method. However seeing that 680 su27 fighter planes are indeed more than 630 f35, telling us that there’s no 5-1 outnumbering. For a fair comparison one must consider the number of f35 at the end of its service life to be able to make any claims in the first place. As there are no longer 680 su27 in airworthy condition due to multiple factors over the years, there are less in service right now. One more thing to consider is that there are many other fighter jets that were based off the su27s airframe but are not counted in the total 680. They replaced the aging su27 over the years and maintained a similar combined number. The entire comparison is just nonsense due to these aforementioned reasons. I got my numbers from a small google search and am by no means a certified expert. Hope I made my point clear to you
@@thrasher698 also quick Addition to your statement about the entire Russian air fleet: In May 2024, Statista estimated that Russia had a total of 4,255 total military aircraft but as the war continues, the figures are changing daily. They estimated that Russia has 809 fighter aircraft or interceptor aircraft, 730 dedicated attack aircraft, 559 attack helicopters, 1547 helicopters and more - 28th August 2024 To date, the F-35 operates from 32 bases worldwide, with 10 nations operating F-35s on home soil. There are nearly 1,000 aircraft operational.25 Jul 2024 So yes the Russian air fleet outnumbers the f35 nearly 4.5 to one, which is not even close to what you claimed.

If I had a ruble for every minute I spent on UA-cam, I'd have bought myself a cat by now🍭
Holy porn bots there are so many
I've got a feeling the f 35 might win not based on abilities just purely on how like 5 f35s could be teaming up on each su27
Also based on abilities.
Hope I made my point clear to you
@@thrasher698 also quick Addition to your statement about the entire Russian air fleet:
In May 2024, Statista estimated that Russia had a total of 4,255 total military aircraft but as the war continues, the figures are changing daily. They estimated that Russia has 809 fighter aircraft or interceptor aircraft, 730 dedicated attack aircraft, 559 attack helicopters, 1547 helicopters and more - 28th August 2024
To date, the F-35 operates from 32 bases worldwide, with 10 nations operating F-35s on home soil. There are nearly 1,000 aircraft operational.25 Jul 2024
So yes the Russian air fleet outnumbers the f35 nearly 4.5 to one, which is not even close to what you claimed.
Probably one of the most iconic designs, alongside its refined big brother the SU-35 (Also the name Super Flanker is quite cool)
Please make a Video about the Super Hornet!
As always, great video! Lol, but are you guys ever going to just give up and rename this channel "cool planes"?
I like your videos but this one is kind of crap. A minor issue, you say "...now that the F-15 was flying..." and shows a F-16 (min 7:07) & from there, are a few contradictions, or odd 'side-by-side" comparisons that are a 'stretch' in equivalence for lack of a better word.
How much did Moscow pay you for this fluff piece
Fluff piece? Did you even watch all the way through? He mentioned that it doesn't even match the f-15 in both tech and record.
As in, the f-15 is better.
He even called the SU-27 outdated.
How is this a fluff piece?
How much of an idiot are you?
@@abielferrin913he just wanted to hear “Russia bad, too much alcohol paid for with corruption” like everyone else says.
While this is more than likely a factor, it is essentially an unstated fact that need no introduction fortunately
Yes, this has all the hallmarks of a Russian influence operation. I mean, what better way to shift Western attitudes in Moscow's favor than to pay Simon to give a fair to middling review of a fifty year old Soviet airframe! Brilliant analysis!
Aww look at all the butthurt Krembots cry over my little comment. Good job exposing yourselves.
Great design, trash avionics. Russian jets have been regularly seen with consumer GPS systems onboard. Any 4th-gen NATO jet would be first to see the Su-27, the rest is a foregone conclusion
So they're both just missile trucks now?
You've got several channels with millions of subscribers. Do you really have to put an ad in the middle? THere's a reason why I avoid YT ads, and if you're doing this, people will stop watching. Do you really need the extra ad money?
Scaring the crap out of NAFO for decades
Erm…. No.
Communist propaganda lol😅😅😅
Such a great looking fighter. Edit: Simon, I hope these fighter videos are doing well because I can't get enough of them.

That is a pile of flying shit.....saying it will and can are two different things 😂😂😂
It is actually quite a capable aircraft with a distinguished service record.
Having never met the F15 in combat we can never truly know which is superior, but as an F15 fanboy I am still honest enough to admit that SU 27 is a good plane which has served well.
Though the ameaams are a much better missile system.
If you gave a good pilot a flying piece of shit, you might say this piece of shit can really fly.
