I received mine a couple months ago with a fine nib and I love it! The open/close sound slightly bugged me so I added silicon grease and wiped it off. It is smooth silent now even with no grease visible after wiping off all I could. The red feed, oring, and gravitas logo are beautiful accents and visually add to the obvious luxury. Incredible pen! I do wish for a larger converter capacity though.
I talked to Ben from a long long time ago saying we need to see gravitas picking up where other pen companies no longer are willing to continue - steel nibs with ebonite feeders, considering how much steel nibs these days caught up in quality and feel towards gold nibs - ebonite feeders are just that little touch that makes the whole experience worth it. Many companies like to pair their steel nibs with abs feeders - nothing wrong with that but it’s nice when such options are available even with steel nibs. We have something in work for a higher capacity soon to come 😁
Thank you David - we each bring something valuable and the whole basis of the partnership is that we complement our skills 🤝🖋️ this is just the beginning
Emy, Great review. I have fine nib for about a month. Easily the best steel nib I have ever used. I really like this pen. The squeaking sound takes a little getting used to but is fine. I have found that I prefer using a cartridge instead of the small capacity converter. Great pen and review!!
Thanks for sharing! We have a huge success with these and I really think its a winning combo to have this steel nibs with ebonite feeders - I have to try the silicone grease to see if it makes it less squeaky
Damn and here I am thinking im going to get the Ultem pocket pen…then you guys drop this one with an ebonite feed….and the carbon fiber just looks so nice
Hmmm then it’s a questions of - do I like to have the Ultem being eyedroppered or I trade the ink capacity to a carbon fiber pen paired with a steel nib/ebonite feeder 😁
@@pen.venture I know. Ebonite feed has me leaning towards the pultruded carbon fiber so we’ll see. But either way i would love to add a gravitas fountain pen to my collection. Please do a video on eye dropping the Ultem pocket pen!
I think so too! Im not sure this kind of combo can be offered on all Gravitas pens but for sure I would like to see it migrate on other variations and models
12:00 I have a wooden pen that is perfect in every way, except that its porous material causes the ink to dry out in the nib within a few days of no use. I’m concerned the same issue might occur with carbon fiber if it’s not sealed. Is there a way to seal the inside of the cap, or should I not be concerned about this?
well - none of more than 200 customers have reported this as an experience after purchasing this pen, it may be with some specific inks and or situations but with all of the customers and the use they got with the pen - it was not reported
Looks classy and sleek. I have a raw steel Gravitas and writing for an extended period of time gets heavy on the hand I see the choice of carbon fibre. As you mentioned. Although I might be the only person that doesn't like the feel of carbon fibre. 😅
Both nibs EF and M are similarly smooth so I would pick a different metric to set the apart - I’ll pick a EF being a carried pen because I can write on less quality copy paper much more efficient than with a wet M nib that will feather and bleed through very much
Nice presentation. I don't think it's biased. Can you confirm that the nib unit from the PCF pocket pen can be unscrewed and used in other Gravitas pens, like the pocket and flagship skittles? Will it be available in a broad or double broad nib? I really like the weight of the Gravitas Titanium Pocket Pen so I'm not sure how I'd feel about the lighter weight of this one, but if the nib units were interchangeable with other Gravitas pens that you already own that would be a game changer.
Hey there Lisa - we have not went and checked with each model each variation - if you want to check a specific combination we can do it and confirm, it’s threaded just like the other nib units of gravitas so it’s meant to be installed in all, I think with a little bit of silicone grease where the fitment is more tight but it should fit on all. As for Broad and Stub - we should have something this coming year in steel of course
If you plan to cut this pen with a grinder or sand it - that’s the way you get to produce dust from it and that dust you aren’t suppose to breath it in. Pen is made from a solid rod of carbon fiber that is epoxy bond (glued) - in using it as a writing instrument just like any other object made from carbon fiber - you don’t have to worry about anything
Sanded pultruded carbon fibre is cheap and easy to make and can't compare to wrapped or molded carbon fibre. I don't understand why anyone would like this? Must be the marketing.
I don’t know about the “cheap” description but I do wonder about the purpose of going with a sanded pultruded process in the first place. I wonder how it would look wrapped or molded 🤔

Thanks Emy! Ben does great work in designing and building pens, and you do great work in bringing them to us.

I got it Emi on the strength of this video. Needed something to cheer me up. I can’t wait. I love gravitas.
:D hehe ... just about to showcase a new vide with some new goodies
Me too. Mine is on the way. Can’t wait!!!!
Great review of yet another unique Gravitas. Thanks!
Glad you like them! It is my pleasure
Emy, I loved your review of this pen so much, I've just bought one from your website!
Hope you enjoy it! It is going out as we speak - just finished packing all of them - keep us posted with a review on our platform for it
I really like this pen! Thanks!!
Great to hear Scott ! How is the vac coming along ?
I dont feel there was any bias in your presentation. The ebonite feed is a major upgrade.
Thank you George - its a pleasure to share this pocket rocket with you all :D

On the way - noted !
If Ben made this in his Sentry model, it would be a near instant buy. Such a good looking pen!
:D we do look to see more of this material being released in other shapes as well - will see :D Thank you
I want one! Also please talk to Ben and ask for some more Micarta colors (like blue)!
Well notes - some custom micarta pens would look really good
Thanks for the great review. I think this ebontie feed with an Ultem Vac would be an interesting combination.

Ben makes really nice pens.
we approve this message! :D
Nice video. You are a great salesman!
Thank you! I hope this is a well earned complement :D
It's such an awesome pen
Thank you, Emy 'n' Ben
thank you so much for the feedback and support!

Any thoughts about a pocket clip?
We will have something coming this year for sure in this category :D - as a accessory but also on some pens with the purchase

:D couldnt agree more - My stainless steel felt from the table and broke a ceramic tile :)) so that is a pretty biffy pen :D
@@pen.venture I'm sure it could double as a self defence batton 😅
Window cracking device in emergency ?
@@pen.venture Baseball bat for tiny hands? 😆
Baby baseball bat ;))
Since the ink capacity is a little tight would you recommend a fine over a medium nib?

Thank makes perfect sense. Thank you!
Prices of Gravitas pens on Pen Venture finally increase 😢
We had to follow the official website and pricing

@@pen.venture thanks, Emy. That’s great news. Exciting times😀
Carbon fiber is nasty stuff if it gets into your lungs. Can anyone confirm if how this pen is made prevents carbon fiber particles to become loose?
