👏👏👏👏 Applause goes to the wall Builders!
Yes those men risk their lives to be out there and save the Day. 🏅
those crews did alot of fantastic work to build those walls, right on 👌🏻👍🏻
Most amazing drone footage! Bar none
Ty for giving clear and concise vision of how high n wide berns are and especially how close it was previously flowing next to blue lagoon/ power plant.
High Quality footage
📽️🔨
Thanks for documenting this. It could all be gone tomorrow 😌❤️🔥
What your country has done with simple lava wall barriers is amazing, the dry lava they have used, their is an abundance of it to use it's a awesome and been very effective.. thank you for that technical update ..
Great footage Roman!
First time i see the wall so clearly. Wow thanks. Images stupéfiantes!
Thanks for sharing this.
Excellent footage. Thank you
Thanks for update.
Thank you for sharing. Great footage! 😊
👍😁🍀thank you.
Very beautiful ❤
Great drone footage! Thank you!
Bonjour ,merci pour tous ces renseignements
I pray for you brother.
Thank you, Roman. Planning on visiting Iceland in the near future.
Oh, so there is a wall built in the area of my concern, right to the west of the cone, up the hill from the PP.( 7:30) I wasn't sure of it until now :) . Great, thank you!
Thank you ❤ 😊
Amazing wall built and nice footage. That building doesn’t look to old. I’m sure that lava will still find a way but for now bravo! 😊
Excellent all the way around to everyone.
As I recall there was a lava wall built during the eruption (can't remember the name) in 2021 o prevent the lava from flowing to the west onto a big plain and keep it flowing to the south. The top of that wall became a part of the hiking trail on one of the routes to the crater. Anybody remember exactly?
Angels at work😊
Roman has anyone discussed the possibility of two parallel walls or berms being built to channel lava straight to the ocean? Can it even be done? Watching Iceland grow upwards is good (and thanks to the long slow process of erosion sideways growth still happens) but new land created from ocean would also be good.
Never heard of it. But there is a small wall next to the farm to the east and big one to the west but not reaching the sea yet...L13 just needs to be extended and then we ll have a channel
The opening statement is that the walls have been effective. Then the following video shows several kilometres of massive embankments that have not been touched by lava. The only banks that were actually effective were north of Grindavik and they were compromised by fissures through the wall and inside the wall, in the earlier stages of the eruption. As the eruption continued the lava field built to a level higher than the banks requiring reinforcement. One small overflow occured, to demonstrate what may happen. The eruption is not yet over. God help the people there.
If the main fissure erupts halfway down that hill below the old green house, nothings saving that town unfortunately. Prolonging it maybe but that’s about it.
As much as I hate to say this, maybe they should stop building the walls and just let nature choose its path. The only reason that I say this is because it's starting to kill off lots of moss, and that is the only growing plant in that area. I love that people are trying to build walls, but it seems like the walls won't do anything anyway if Fissure 15 opens up and it's inside of the walls. If anything, it will fill everything inside the walls and completely destroy all structures. Let nature take its course, the lava will go where the lava goes. Don't get in the way unless you like risking making it worse. However this is not on you Iceland Exploerer, I am just putting it out there.
Hagafell just had a 1.6 and 1.1 Keilir is swarming tremors now
There are 112 EQ and Tremors. Went up quickly from 75
when you look at their terrain and how quick they built them then you got to say how comes we can never move that amount of material as quickly i bet their costs are not 100,s of millions either
Did they convert the material from the edge of the lava flow north of Svartsengi into a berm? That is - icelandic.
It looks like the old lava did
Where can you park and hike to the new volcano? Will be visiting Iceland in 2 weeks. Thanks!
Olá, ainda tem vulcão ativo na Islândia que está em erupção?? Sou só Brasil!!
P1 Fagradalsfjall parking only. The eruption is over and you can see 2024 cones from 3 km distance whike hiking to 2021/22/23 cones and 2021/22/23 lavas. 2024 eruption site is closed. But you can visit Grindavik by booking table at Papa's restaurant in Grindavik or visit Blue Lagoon then you can stop for 24 lava
