I’ve been taking care of my daughter’s fur baby for the past 5 days and the weather got cold and damp. I looked in her cupboards and freezer to see what soup/stew I could make her when she gets back from vacay. I found a pound of grass fed sirloin burger, onion, garlic, can of garbanzos, can diced tomatoes, left over beef stock, left over frozen spinach and 1/2 small pack of frozen broccoli. I cooked it down and added the end of a Parmesan cheese. It was fantastic. I broke up some spaghetti into one inch pieces. I’m calling it Volfie soup because you inspire me to use up leftovers and be creative. Ty
Looks delicious. I've never used my Kitchen Aid attachments. I agree, if you have a spouse working outside the home and you do not.. it's not fair for them to have to come home and have to cook the meal. The homemaker job includes making meals.
Watching early Monday morning in my part of Canada…. Giggling away listening to you two lovingly bickering, like my husband and I do ❤. Have a fabulous day.
That is something I LOVE about you Bev is that your old school like me and actually serve your husband dinner after he worked all day. I've had so many friends make rude Comments to me about it. And that soup looks amazing. Thanks for sharing.
I love it when I make something that my husband likes. It makes me happy to make him happy so i guess im living in the wrong era. 😂He’s my rock and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
@@decoy8645 I am too but that's ok with me. And I guess it's ok with my husband too because he has stayed with me for 23 years so I guess making him a nice dinner or a special treat and serving to him counts for something.
Starting with cold water is really important! My grandmother always said that.... Her explanation was.. Start with cold water, and as everything slowly heats up, it fully relaxes allowing all the goodness to seep out. Starting with warm/hot water causes a quick relax then a constriction. She also said start with cold water when boiling potatoes and the mashed potatoes turn out fluffier. It's absolutely true!!!❤
Soup looks delicious. I haven’t heard anyone in years say they were going to sit in front of the boob tube. That’s a very old saying. Lol. Hope you guys feel better soon
Love this video and love the way you love each other. I am in Oklahoma, USA and just made a whole chicken in the crock pot for yesterday's supper. Going to pick meat off bones and make stock for tomorrow night and have chicken and noodles tomorrow night. God Bless you both.
Last night I deboned five pounds of chicken quarters I had been given and had cooked in my crock pot. I folded my bag over just as I learned from you, and was so proud of myself when I sealed it. The edges were perfectly clean. I have another bag already in the freezer with a rubber band around it too--learned from you. THANK you for all the tips you give me.
That looks delicious Bev, I did the same, chicken soup from soup bones, minus the noodles, and I am canning it up to send a basket of soups and bread to my sister in law and brother in law when she has her surgery
I love making chicken / bone broth like this but in a big roaster. I keep and freeze my veggie peelings to put in as well. Strain and pressure can for future use.
Hi Bev, if you have a cold, and with this lovely chicken noodle soup, add some freshly grated ginger or jarred not much just alittle, helps with colds, been doing this for years, and helps alot. Warms you up on the inside to heal you. and we all know that ginger is very medicinal, Some one told me that years ago, and it really works,,,,, And your like me, it is my job to serve my hubby his dinner, he works hard,
My Dad used to say if it's a hot food it's supposed to be served HOT! Cold foods are supposed to be served COLD! My Dad and Howard probably would have had a thirty minute discussion regarding this subject🤣
I to maybe make the feminist mad my husband has hot meal on the table for him when he walks thru the door makes me as a wife feel good that he has been gone for 14 hours and comes home to my cooking lol
I hope you borh will ceel better soon! The chicken soup looks wonderful. I must ise your recipe for noodles. I like more of a dumpling style cut. But, im thing the recipe would be good cut both ways. Thanks Bev for all of your inspiration and knowledge.
I have been coughing, sneezing and blowing for over a week. I can't tell if its my allergies, a cold or both. Been taking my asthma and allergy meds and taking emergen C with zinc and D. I am also drinking hot liquids. Allergies can be worse than having a cold in my opinion. I hope the 2 of you feel better soon.
I feel the same way about feeding my hubby . I had a couple friends stop and my hubby came home I loaded him a tray and took it in the living room were he had sat down to watch the news. They were surprised. I said my hubby works very hard he has about 3 hours to relax , eat ,get a shower and visit with his kids. That’s the least I can do for him. They were shaking their heads bewildered. I said my hubby has never asked to be served in this manner. I do it willingly on my own.
It's so funny cuz I'm the same way. I make sure my husband's food is always fresh & hot. What does he do!?? He says "ouch it's hot😢) yet if we let it cool off u know damn well they'd say "why is my food cold" I swear!!!! men!!! 😂😂😂😅😊
My allergies have just about done me in. No amount of antihistamines are knocking it down for very long. I am beginning to wonder if I am sick as well. I take my emergenC with zinc and D. I may need to start up the elderberry tea again.
NOTHING IN THE WORLD like eating some hot chicken soup with someone who loves you as much as you love each other! It looked decadent and rich!

Now you've motivated me to make homemade chicken noodle soup, looks delicious!
Yeah, Poppa hit the lotto with you Mrs. V and 🤣@Poppa,saying: "Yeah would've been if the bun was homemade"!😂😉👍

Thanks for the tip!
I did that this weekend too but cheated and started with two rotisserie chickens from Sams.
Feel better soon ❤️🍀❤️

How satisfying!!
Right?!
I to maybe make the feminist mad my husband has hot meal on the table for him when he walks thru the door makes me as a wife feel good that he has been gone for 14 hours and comes home to my cooking lol
Right?!
I also put a splash of apple cider vinegar in the stock. Never taste the vinegar but it helps bring out the good stuff from the bones.
Hope you are feeling better

That soup looks so delicious!
Why do you put a towel over the crock pot while something is cooking..?
Helps retain the heat. And reduce heat loss.
To serve love and cherish each other that is a happy marriage
That chicken noodles soup looks absolutely devine. I can hardly wait to dig in.
Hope you are both feeling better. I need to try making my own noodles. Next learning challenge for me!
You can do it!
I absolutely adore how much you love Howie and how much he loves you. Such joy to see I love all your videos. This soup looks phenomenal
Happy eating
