    Reagan walked in and took his place at the podium without a notecard directing him to do so.
    His pants were clean and remained so throughout the press conference.
    He spoke in complete sentences.
    He did not call only on a preordained list of press.
    He had harsh words for America's enemies at the time.
    He had solutions that involved cutting useless bureaucracy not throwing money at it.
    Was not hustled out after two answers by his handlers.
    We need another Reagan.

The 2 dems have done more to defeat us than the Chinese an Russians have combined. The narcissist had great things he did economically an in judicial but his foreign policy was lacking. Ronald Reagan is the guy who enacted the most strict and harsh gun control laws in the country, California's gun control laws. If you think that's "leaving individual Americans alone" then I don't know what to tell ya. The 2nd Ammendment exists for a reason. Everyone has the right to bear arms. It's the law. But he apparently didn't care about the law all that much. And now Californians have to deal with this stuff that he enacted decades after Reagan died. The spectre of government hangs over the country long after its fiercest proponent, Reagan, stopped standing. Sure he _CLAIMED_ to be anti-government, anti-state, anti-centralisation. But look at his actions, instead of his campaign promises, his words. Like all politicians, he was a liar, and so didn't actually do what he said he was gonna do (be anti-government) but instead actually strengthened it and centralised it even further

      Do you remember when Reagan was President? I certainly do. Perhaps you were too young? That is no disgrace. You are incorrect in saying that he “did not need to read a TelePrompTer.” He certainly did, and was very skillful in doing so. Actually, President Reagan used the TelePrompTer a lot, and I mean A LOT! It was said that he never met a TelePrompTer that he didn’t like. Ronald Reagan was the King of the TelePrompTer. Except for news conferences when he spoke extemporaneously, President Reagan ALWAYS used a teleprompter or note cards whenever he made a speech. Using a prompter made him appear strong, because he was an absolute master communicator who knew how to deliver his lines to the public; he knew how to pause; he understood vocal variety, and he knew how to emphasize certain points. Because he was a trained actor, President Reagan was great at hitting his mark and delivering his lines. There was none better. NONE! On the other hand, speaking off the cuff at Press Conferences was definitely NOT his strong suit, especially as he aged throughout his 70’s throughout his two terms as President. Ronald Reagan was never really comfortable at Press Conferences in my view. JFK, in my opinion, was far Reagan’s superior when speaking at Press Conferences. But he was 30 years younger at the time.

    This man never used a tele-prompter to speak. Didn't have easy questions that were pre-planned. And took questions from individuals who did not always agree with him, without animosity, hostility, or bias.
    How things have changed. And not for the better.

    Nothing changed with Dept of Education and Energy....I never realized he wanted to abolish them. Smart move.

    • @CountArtha
      @CountArtha 3 роки тому

      The Department of Education was brand new, created in 1979 at the tail-end of Carter's administration. The Dept. of Energy was created in 1977 to oversee rationing during the energy crisis. Reagan's solution was just to deregulate the energy sector so they could produce more, which is _ALWAYS_ the right decision when prices are rising.
      .... But yeah, major fail that he didn't just nip them in the bud and abolish them both.
