@@ilerium7517 youre right. but you could feel his drive to want to win through even the tv. That guy played all out, sparked the team many times when they were struggling with that extra effort. Doesn’t have to be vocal necessarily. Travis wanted to be a winner and you could sense it in his behavior.
I like the major changes, it means Norvell is working.
Let's see if it pays off.
I'll always say had we played the exact same game and managed to win, a lot of these problems would not have come to light right away, and the reaction would be completely. Don't wanna say it's a good loss, but it brought some things to the forefront that needed to be addressed sooner rather than later...
It was a bad loss but it was the last thing future opponents wanted to happen. Now we will be laser focused on every game because we have no margin for error now.
Our weaknesses have been exposed so we can fix them EARLY.
I'm pissed but I'm not backing off my 10-2 prediction floor. Clemson and Miami play this weekend, let's see how they look.

I'm a 1970 FSU grad and miss the Mickey Andrews defenses. I'm NOT watching the Adam Fuller 4-2-5 no pressure, no linebackers, everybody out of position, atrocious tackling defense ANYMORE. I'VE had it with this crap. Give ME a third of Fuller's pay and I'll give you a lights out 1985 Chicago Bears defense the likes of which the modern college game has never seen AND again I'm 75 years old!!!!
The changes sound good. Hope to see this team get better as the season goes along.
This was a loss we needed and it happened at the perfect time as well
BTW...we rotated our OL all last year. Some time Roddick was out their, then Emanuel, and Jones. Our issue is that Jones is a good run blocker, but poor in pass pro. Ferguson is good at pass pro, but not at run blocking. So we kinda tip our hand off of what is coming.

Saturday was horrifying. When we can’t run counter Trey, our bread and butter, we have to reevaluate.
The second puller needs more depth and play off the first pullers butt and they only did this maybe one time. GT was wrong shouldering our 1st puller and our second puller was either getting caught up in the garbage or not pulling outside. DJ needs to hit that RB now before the LB closes and put air under that long ball to give his WR a chance. Our D was catching and not playing downhill. LB’s were frozen in place in run plays. It appeared that GT was more hungry and wanted it more. A group of 2 and 3 star players should rarely if ever line up against 4 and 5 star players and win unless they’re out coached.
We will be alright. Imo we go out and show our talent at home and get the dub. Go Noles 💯💥🏹
The other question is, how good is GT really? That’s the same team that almost beat Georgia last year. Could be that they are sneaky good and made us look mediocre since we are basically a new team with players that have never played with eachother. My concern was it definitely seemed like Norvell was not confident with DJU handling the ball with the conservative play calling

The problem is the fan base was told the whole off season how talented this team is. Might be better then last season. So expectations were sky high. Then thud. A bit of reality
Stop making excuses, we have donated our own hard earned money to the school’s NIL program, been told for months how good this team is, just to watch them play like absolute garbage against a middling team. Not holding guys accountable will only lead us to mediocrity
Also FSU isn’t some middling program like NC state or Virginia Tech, we are a blue blood program which is paying players hundreds of thousands of dollars to play football at an elite level. If they don’t live up to the standard criticism is warranted. If you’re ok with losing just say so

I tried to tell you all summer that FSU was bad. You laughed about it. Now look, I was wrong. They aren’t bad. They’re fucking god awful😂
One statement I've heard from a Fullers family member is that the linebacker core we are pursuing is not what we normally think of as a true linebacker. From Fuller, basically he is wanting larger than normal safeties to play our linebackers. It shows to me it isn't the best format. Georgia's lbs are formidable big strong lb
Fuller has to be the first to go! You need to take Graham off the depth chart period. He's a liability let Cryer get those snaps

The COACHING STAFF seems to have taken a step backwards. Why are they still making changes in the starting lineup? They rotated throughout the GT game, and are still uncertain who to start for the next game. That’s NOT a recipe for success!

Sometimes a DC does stay for a very long time because they're not HC material. HC is a very different job and not every coordinator is cut out for it no matter how good they are.

@@thastinger345 yup but there are some still working today. Fuller is a good DC but may not be a HC. If Brent Venables doesn’t make it as a HC he’ll be in demand as a DC. Will Muschamp was an excellent DC and a washout HC.
DJ U only ran 8 yards in college you have to have some duel threat capability.
Not having Atkins hurt.....and our offense needed more changes then our defense.....mainly play calling

I'll be much happier after last weekend's loss with a Big Statement game on Monday and knocking the brakes of them the 4th quarter...we'll see.
Why weren't the issues dealt with this summer. COACHING PROBLEMS.
Defensive front seven and DJU are the two biggest concerns. Also I think Norvell is doing too much. FSU needs to get better assistants for Norvell,we have also rans and former players that need to retire or be analysts(Dugans,Shannon,Odell). Also Atkins(even though he is suspended) needs to have a better O-line product at this point. Papuchis and Surtain seem really good,Thomsen is solid and is a Norvell guy from way back. Fuller,who knows? He was great with Fiske,Verse and Bethune...is he back to mediocre without them? Also,I wonder why we didn't go after Seth Henigan in the portal instead of DJU? Mikes loyalty probably.
Boston College ALWAYS plays FSU close even that stacked National Championship team we had almost lost to Boston College I always get nervous playing them hopefully this L lights a fire in these guys and they lock in for the rest of the season

Mike also has to stop showing favoritism towards portal guys and use his homegrown talent. The guys he recruited are really good and reports are saying Brock is actually doing better than D.J and I'm starting to drink that kool-aid.

Boy am I glad you're not in charge, norvell is great. We lost a lot of talent from last year, trust the process, plus, ESPN isn't allowing the o coach to coach the first 3 games
@@moloney0218 this isn’t an NC state, VT, UNC type program. If we ever want to be a consistent contender, which we should be with our money and resources.. how do you make excuses for losing to bottom of the barrell ACC teams. No excuse. Big time programs don’t drop off like this
@@mattg0012 I agree with you, but at the same time we're only 2 games into the season, Georgia Tech is ranked, and I think bc is better that they're giving credit for. And again, Alex Atkins isn't coaching right now. I'm trying to be positive here, hopefully we will win out, hopefully our players are seeing they can't give 50%, hopefully they have all learned a painful lesson. I guess we will see

We didn't get embarrassed by Georgia Tech both teams had 7 possessions. We lost to a team that took Georgia to the brink meaning Georgia beat them in the last moments for the game. The same team that dog walk our ass in the Orange Bowl. Even Nick Saban picked them as a surprise team. They have tons of coaches from Georgia and LSU I'm not surprised. It wasn't a bad game it was a good game. Don't blame the kids blame poor play calling on Norvell and Fuller they should of been more aggressive.
The issue is fans underestimated the importance of a veteran unit in what GT has this year. They were dangerous for any young talented team. The cohesiveness is so important in week1/week0.
@@noles9998totally, part of the reason we dominated LSU in the last opener was so many returners and just adding a few key pieces.
We should have been playing an FCS team week one and fine tuning any issues.

If Shannon goes then so does Fuller. He is the DC and Shannon only plays guys in Fuller's defense.
Stop calling the players, "kids". They're grown adults that can vote, go to war, and pay taxes. Not to mention that those, "kids", are getting paid more than you'll probably ever make in your lifetime. And if they do make it to the NFL they're gonna face even more and harsher criticism.

Not true. Most changes and the most improvements should be after your first game. . I agree Norvell is not the best X’s and O’s play caller so we have to call the right plays to get the ball in our playmakers hands, execute the play and play with some fire in our belly’s. The 4 & 5 star transfers that either played sparingly or were non-starters are still playing the same. I think we overvalued some of those guys and they’re playing like they still have their former teams tattoos on their butts.
