Hi, nice to see this video. I grew up at North Lodge Southbarr in the 1970s. Our neighbour on the estate was Mr Bell and our other neighbour was Mr Stevenson. Both very nice people to have as neighbours. I can remember Mr Lamont, as the farm was still, just working. It was a lovely rural farming community coming to an end. We had seasonal travelling workers who would live in the woods and pick potatoes, possibly from Ireland. I was just a young kid and loved to go to Stevenson's farm and get driven around in the tractors or even better sit on the hay sled when bailing was being done .In hindsight, i know i was probably more of a worry to these people hanging around their farm but i was always treated very well and never chased away .. As a kid I could see the remnants of the old way of life in this area. As the first stage of Erskine was being built. The Stevenson's farm was such a big influence on me as a child. I always wanted to be a farmer, and this dream came true, as I became a fish farmer in Shetland for many years.. Thank you.
I actually have a few of the old glass milk bottles with the names of the local farms of Inchinnan and Erskine ,I'd imagine there's not a lot around anymore
I've been in Erskine since we was six , so 41 years it's been now and I wondered sometimes what was here before , I've seen a lot of changes myself in that time but to see this video before the town was even thought of was something I have thought of, so thank you for this film and I'm proud as a " new Tennant" to watch this history
Awful to see the way the village and surrounding area was destroyed......so many lovely memories....so nice to my old neighbour, Mrs Potts again.....also Mr Lang, Mr Mitchell, Mr Gilchrist, Mr Hamilton and Mr Mculloch...spent hours picking those bloody raspberries for sixpence a barrel....and the spuds....I remember when Mr Hays Massey went on fire....we were showing neeps....Peter Mitchell wouldn't let us into the shop because we smelled after milking....whatever happened to Janet Hay?

Excellent social documentary! Nice work Bill. Used to love walking in this area as a kid before the building of the Bridge and these houses.
Great to see the early photos of Inchinnan, it brought back many happy memories of my time at 12 Park Mains.
Great to see the old place of my youth.
Is that Bill McCallum, scout master? Had a great childhood in Inchinnan , it's a shame that children today will never know it again !
