Another ripper day at Inskip

- Sand driving does not have to be this difficult everyone, such a simple technique such as letting your tyres down to a Maximum (Yes Maximum) of 18PSI would prevent so much of the incidents we regularly get sent in regarding this area.
18PSI Is a starting point for pressures in this sort of soft sand and contrary to popular belief NO you will not instantly dislodge your tyre from the rim if you go lower. This area is on the other side of the country to us but even by looking at this sand 14PSI would be our starting pressure and drop by 2psi as needed.
As always when running pressures below 18PSI be very careful when steering and keep speeds low. With all modern 4WD vehicles VERY important to turn OFF Electronic Stability Control before entering soft sand.
There is a lot to be learnt about using your 4WD in soft sand and as daunting as it may seem when watching these sorts of videos, it really does not have to be with the proper techniques. - Розваги
5:25 That is one of the funniest things I have seen on UA-cam in a long long time. One pulling in reverse against another in forward... amazing
Funniest thing I have seen for months! made my day!
mrbreezeaau maybe they trying to get stuck
'Oh what a Feelling.... lmao'
Oh, is that why it didn't work !!!
Lol at “ the snatch strap was too heavy for the cruiser” loving it!!
Makes fun of the v8 200 series but the Channel is named ......Prado 120 ?
I love the way so many other vehicles are driving past with no issues.
Bob Pfaff
Huh? Put down the meth pipe.
Bob Pfaff I love driving around and really really slowly and looking at the tires pumped up to read pressure don't even bother helping them anymore
The best, easiest, and cheapest mod for a 4x4 is tire pressure!
Agent. K.
absolutely 👍🏻
Guy in the silver Lux is in 2Hi- huh?
Old mate in the cruiser looks like he's dropped the pressure to at least 38psi
Thats what i was saying. Air down 15lb then very little slow on the gas.
Nice how the broom on the back of the LC brushes out his tracks. that is taking leave no tracks to another level. LOL
Just as a note for anyone new to 4x4 and wants to drive on "soft" sand. I have a Defender 110. Skinny tyres 235-85-16 and run them at 16psi on sand. Touch wood i have never been bogged in this car. Sidewall height and tyre pressure is everything. Ground clearance also helps in the ruts so you dont belly it. Wide tyres go wider when you go down in pressure and you are then pushing a wall of sand. Skinny tyres go longer when deflated. Also momentum . Some areas you just need to drive it like you stole it. If you do get stuck take advice from those who have experience. I personally just keep driving past those stuck who won't air down. Dont be a dick about it.
GREAT comment.
THANK You.
You show SO MUCH WISDOM and EXPERIENCE.
REALLY APPRECIATE it.
Regards.
the old navara just cruises by minding its business 👌🏽😂😂😂😂
Funny stuff cobba, cheers for sharing.
8 to 12 PSI, and you´ll do what you want on sand. Take it easy to turn!!!
Dead right I run 15 in sand and you can stop and start anywhere you want
Spend 100k on cruiser buys a kings awning 😂
W3TFART gotta stay in budget for when those toyo injectors and fuel system shits itself 😂
W3TFART its the poverty pack GXL $85 grand
W3TFART kings awnings are actually way better than more expensive ones, not all plastic crap like named brands 😬
The actual awning is ok. It's just the hinges that let them down.
Most people that have those stupid cars have them on loan.
I have seen blokes drive off the bitumen straight into the sand at Inskip Point, only to get totally bogged in the sand! You ask the driver if he has dropped the air pressure in the tyres...the reply is either : 1. Yeah I did a bit, 24psi...or 2....This is a 4wd, mate, it can go anywhere you know," and it is always some else that get to get them out of trouble! I recall bloke at Indian Head totally bogged in a 4wd Patrol.....he couldn't comprehend why he got stuck, seems he just forgot to lock the hubs in
I am a firm believer that there should be a license or endorsement for the wannabee 4wd owners IF they want to take their vehicles OFF ROAD, let alone into the soft sand! Great video, thanks for sharing! Got a great laugh ...at someone elses expense, sorry!
As a solo traveler I don’t even look twice now since every second car on the Rd is a 4x4 . I am stuck pretty easy to get out under 2-5 minutes.
15 psi for our FJ and anybody with traction control make sure you. Know how to turn it off before you hit the beach.
Happy travels
Those big flaps on the Land Cruiser graded the sand nicely 👍
You usually see a Suzuki Sierra drive by in these videos.
It seems they have a nice holiday. :-)
Astounding stuff....
I actually always lower my air pressure on sand that is the first basic rule of thumb but I had an incident with my big 35 foot RV in Pismo Beach and I lowered the pressure to 5PSI on one of the tires and it did come off the bead. Had to have it reseated we tried everything to reseat it before the tides came in. Finally got a tow company to come out and in less the 20 minutes He reseated my tires and 300 dollars later. So yeah I learned a lot. for RVs with big 22 bus tires no less then 10 to 15 PSI but on smaller jeeps with 35s or smaller 31 or smaller you can go with 10 PSI no problems
Is this part of a Russell Coight video haha?
Wow getting snatched and they don’t even help by accelerating... just... wow... this is painful to watch...
and in high range, what the hell was this guy doing off the road
that dude just trying to fish hahaha
That was very painful to watch.... low range, low tire pressure, and lockers! The three “L”s
You guys said it for me.....
Why didn’t the LC driver put it in 4L and lock the difs, along with getting rid of the rear mud flap thingy? And no winches?
stay on the paved road ;-)
How to bog a landcruiser in three easy steps.
1. make sure your parents are brother and sister.
2. have more money than brains.
3. go offroad.
What's that skirt thing on the Land Cruiser?
Good to see the cruiser is grading the road lol
The guy with the shovel? Was he waiting for the instruction to download to his iphone?
"Put it in reverse and drive out, are you in low range?" Fucks sake, the basics.
Finally the LC 200, if it had diff locks he couldn't find them.
Harvey Smith
That LC was using crawl control system to get him out. I don't think he's better than the others.
I was having a bit of a rant the first time I watched it. I confess.
Painful to watch, one vehicle is trying to go forward as the other vehicle is going backwards. The guy with the shovel? I can't go there again.
And now you tell me he had crawl control?
Oh well, they make me look almost smart
Harvey Smith
Yup. All you have to do in these new LC's is press a button and wait for the computer to get you out... otherwise he would've stayed there forever with his skills.
As for the others, I don't want to even think.
The problem with these "smart" 4x4 features is that they get incompetent drivers into places far beyond what their competency would normally allow... so when they inevitably get stuck, they are proper stuck and unable to get out of it.
cruiser only has open diffs and relys on pathetic traction control. no diff locks in this overpriced piece of junk.
lol. The silver truck at 1:20 is hilarious. Dude just comes out of nowhere and.... stuck.
That was painful to watch....but good video
Momentum is they key with sand. Before you hit the soft stuff, have a walk and access which line you’re gonna take. And you have to commit yourself, IE low range, low gear and consistent revs.
That cruiser driver clearly thinks his crawl control button is for display purposes only 😂😂
Getting caught in the sand, seems to be a popular activity in this region :-)
UNDERSTATEMENT !!!!!!!!!!
Why do they keep driving through if they know they will get stuck ?
Aussie born and Aussi bred, strong in the arm and weak in the head.
But we don't have this problem on the school run or at the supermarket what's going on?
lots of fun
One word..."hovercraft". ;-)
Man i was there today and saw a very similar series of events
Best thing everyone is trying to help everyone even though he knows he’s getting bogged for helping
How would my 2018 Subaru Outback 3.6L go there?
With the CORRECT tire pressure, I see No problem.
I grew up on the beach, we aired down, and we walked across the sugar sand, I don't mean to be an armchair driver, but damn people, your making it harder than it has to be
How much Air do you have in the tire?? You should be at least 12 psi
AIR DOWN!!!!!!! Never mind to late lol 😂
Have low got type pressure on 4x4 look high types in video
Bloody good video on how not to do it....was this your first time off road
That brush really eat all the LC200 power
muppets... fun to watch albeit bloody stressful!
This is hilarious!! Are these people DRUNK!?!?!
Bring you esky full of beers and enjoy the show!
And a packed lunch as the show will last all day
all the bogged car seem to run highway pressure.some places i had to drop to 6 psi to drive
Michel Polydor i always drop mine to 6psi once i hit sand.
ThatGuyJason
I always drop 18 or 16 psi. I'll go below depending on the sand.the more you drop the more risk of tyres come off the rims.so if not need to go that low better not.
Ah right, with somthing like this video would you recommend still 18-16 or would you go less?
i've my deflators set to 13psi for everything.
6psi is way to low you will trash your tyres or roll them off the rim that low !
Get some new material. You need more beer on the weekends at inskip. Don't forget your camera... I love this shit
Seems like all these drivers are too worried to let their tyres down low enough. Last month I had to let my tyres down to 10psi rears , 6 psi fronts on a Toyota troopy to drive up a sandy track. Soon as you get wheel spin u stop and let more air out.....
bradley c. You should have even pressures for all 4 or a little more in the fronts for stearing to keep from loosing the rubber off the rim. I used to run a troopy at 8 rear 10 front with 33 ats and nothing stopped it.
Land cruiser has a bogging selector to get out of these situations. He didnt even lock his centre diff
wow
Tyre pressure, tyre pressure, tyre pressure.
crawl control?
Have the Fraser island authority worked out that they should pave the island yet? Black top from one end to the other. They could make an international airport too....
Great commentary haha that was hard to watch... there is some special people out there lol!
How can you possibly snatch someone else, when you can't properly get traction yourself? ?? Eg. Black Landcruiser
I could watch this all day.. if you went somewhere and didn't get stuck..you didn't go far enough..
What is that thing hanging form the back of the cruiser?
Juan V rock tamers, stops stones flicking up onto a towed caravan
That is to create extra drag in the sand.
It sweeps the sand to cover his tracks so you can't find him :)
It’s a cape.
That dude is a superhero.
Different variant of mudflaps
Honestly I can't stop laughing
I could be wrong but looking at it I don't see why they're all making it look so hard. Low range, drop tyre pressure and go go go
I think they had hose TREDs backwards
Low range reverse in sand what?
people never let their tyres down enough and some appear to have no idea of what gear to use.
TRD in CC and you don't have to fuss with PSI changes. ;) As for everyone else, If your rig is too heavy and your PSI has not been lowered.. obviously you are going to have to remove weight so you can get back on top of the sand. Do not come to hard stops. Do not do hard throttles. Keep your speed consistent so you stay on top of it. ;)
Why the bloody hell..are they running street tires for????
Did I see a driver actually get out and lower his tyre pressure?
At least the black cruiser in the beginning of the video wasn't spinning wheels and digging to china!
Need to buy a winch
What happened to deflating tyres!!! Lol. That cruiser needed offroad tyres to perform
Can’t get over all these guys wanting a tow then just sitting in neutral waiting for another vehicle with f all traction to pull them out🤦♂️
I fucking hate sideline "experts" sitting on the side yellin random advice...and to top it off, doing it whilst filming.
Hilarious!!! :D
Rookies.
Painful to watch but you do learn from your mistakes. LC200 should have aired down at 12psi to start with and then drive back and forward over the sand you going to snatch him from to try and compact it a bit. That's what I would do and maybe use Maxtracks at the start to help with the wheel slip
15" rims start your tyre pressure at 15psi , 16" rims start your pressure at 16 psi, etc.. 18' and 20" rims stay on the tarmac they have no place off road. If you drive carefully you can drop your tyre pressure very low eg 10 psi or even 8 psi if the sand is very very soft. Ngkala rocks on it's worse day towing trailer is easy at 10 psi behind my GU patrol and Maxis Razor MT's
How do they think everyone else is getting through so easily. Surely they would stop and think they are doing something wrong.
the vehicle is sitting on its chassis, the other one is getting there! scary 4x4's
WOW! They were terrible drivers.
Van Diemen Overland
With your help they could be the best.
Very true. Maybe I should open a sand driving school? You want to be my first client?
finally, a gasoline lc in australia
That got to be just too painful to watch. I bet the numpty in the black 200 isn't even aware he's got a CDL switch.
this is the reason I don't go up that way any more.
Note the Cruiser will happily drive around on top of the sand but as soon as the lower swing arms start to dig into the sand on the inside of the wheel ruts it goes in like a beached whale.Toyota should of never strayed from the solid front end axle.
I love my 2006 105 Series!
Looks like none of them has reduced tyre pressure
it was a pain to watch. these guys need to learn some offroad skills!
Looks like mayhem lol
It's amazing how many people are so ignorant to correct tyre pressure off road especially sand
5:30 come on guys 😱😱
⬅️➡️
All the gear and no idea, got to laugh at dudes who spend thousands modding their 4x4 for it to bog.
These problems of filling the tires with air, air and one kilo frame, go all the beaches of the world
(jeep grand cherokee pulls out triton ) if you want to see a snatch out of how it should be done.i love my jeep my hilux is a great work truck but not on sand does not compare to my 2000 model jeep grand cherokee on sand in and on conditions just like these my hilux would be stuck just like these guys if i dont air down and lose momentom but my jeep can stop look around take photos and drive off again or even snatch out cars all todo with quadro drive the closest thing to lockers to front and rear locker and i drive staright from concrete onto sand with engaging no sticks locking nothing i just drive.
🤣🤣🤣 worried about the cost of pumping up the tires maybe
Oh dear..
Why not bring landrover to see how it would perform
Be nice to buy 200 LC or Y62 but think I’ll pour $20,000 into my 97 Discovery and run circles around these guys .
what no one needs is an expert with a camera telling every one else what to do.
Must be a heavy snatch strap.
Let your tyres down
maxtrax 15psi abit of right foot sorted
Has he even let tyre pressures down?
Max Trax will get get you out 👍
Not on sand if your tire pressurs are too high, you just melt the knobs off the boards.
They are a waste of money!
ZenMinus they are the single best thing off road. Well trends are anyway
reduse the tire pressure to 15psi to 20psi.. then go and enjoy..
Just look down at the ground and shake your head and walk away ......just walk awake
