- The Canon R10 with RF 100-400mm F/5.6-8 and RF 600m F/11 come out for a test drive. I visit several wildlife management areas to enjoy some wildlife photography. This will be my first mirrorless camera with birds-eye detection. I certainly wish I switched sooner. Take a look at all the photos and let me know what you think in the comments. This is considered Canon's budget wildlife gear. Although it is certainly not budget for many people. Be sure to share and subscribe - www.youtube.co...

@@democratic_chocolate2067 Thank you for the kind words. Glad you enjoyed them. 😎👍
Looks like a fun new set up - great images and really nice colors :) Its interesting to see almost like with macro the depth of field gets narrow quick, like towards the end of the video the row of birds on a pipe (?) looks nice how the one in the center is sharp and it falls off in both directions. Were those all using the eye detect feature - does it get confused when there are many birds in the frame?
Can't wait to see more from the new setup!
Thanks. Yes, it's all using the eye detect. It doesn't get confused with other birds. However it does get confused with parts of the bird. At times it would keep focusing on the rear end instead of the eye. It also struggles a bit in low light situations.
Another great video, Ryan! You got some really nice shots!!
Thank you very much 😎🙏
great video 👌🤜
Many Thanks 😎🙏
Like the old saying, "it's not the camera, but the person behind the camera that makes the image" You caught some beautiful shots. I'd say your equipment does just fine. Really in wildlife and bird photography a crop sensor gives you extra range on your telephotos, it's a good choice.
Thank you. The crop sensor certainly helps. The autofocus does struggle a bit in low light, but what camera doesn't.
Beautiful bird photography! New subscriber here ✨
Thank you! I appreciate it 🙏
Nice video, well done! 😀
Personally I would have gone for the RF800 and skip the 200-800. I am thinking, the RF100-400 with the RF800 is a good combo that allows you to shoot from very very close, up to 400mm, and even crop a bit if needed, then switch to the 800 when the subject is too far. But that's just me... Anyone has his choices and reasons. ✌
Thanks and I'll admit that I was leaning towards the 800mm to begin. I would have gone that direction if I photographed more small birds. Even at 600mm heat haze is a struggle. It's always hot where I am. Even in the early morning. I'm now leaning towards saving for an older ef 500mm prime. Won't be surprised if some new lenses get released that change my mind. 😎👍
Nice pictures
Thank you! Have a great day.
