The one good thing that was missing in New Blood, besides one episode that was only really nostalgia bait it should have consistently been in the series it gave the original series so much charm and an eerie musical backdrop to go with it
It does miss really much indeed but i tend to think it's a good artistical choice based on what we see in the show: New blood is in a snowing/vast/empty place and that makes the silence heavy and fits with it.
I did! Long story short- the finale was quite rushed and had a few too many leaps in logic, but it left me with a MUCH better taste and love for the show than I had 9 years ago.

If the finale would be a two-parter, fleshing out some stuff (that Batista-tease -_-) and I would be happier. Not so satisfied with how it turned out, but definitely not angry like last one. It's not an easy show to make a satisfying ending, so I agree with you that it left in a much better taste than the previous ending.
