Can i suggest like a small bog filter pond outside the gallery. You know just to clean and make the water from the gallery re useable. I mean just saying like gallons of water is wasted, creating a bog filter pond can add scenic beauty to you're yard and also a place for the kids to play n swim in the hot summer days, not to mention that you could go into a new topic of the hobby as well..... Just a though 😊

I've been watching your videos for a couple of months now and let me tell you that you're single-handedly responsible for getting me to want to set up an aquarium at my place (Previously I never even thought I'd entertain such an idea).
Now that you got me hooked to the idea of setting one up, I'm in the planning phase (investigating the market, available equipment, food sources, etc...) Looks like it's gonna be a 105 gallon community tank, which I plan to have ready to stock by February 2018.
Great work and keep it up.

Wensen Wang Epsom salt can be quite dangerous for fish when used improperly and shouldn't be recommended when you don't even know what the issue actually is. Also you say dropsy isn't curable as though dropsy is a condition. Dropsy is a sign of kidney failure which can be reversed depending on what is causing the organs to fail.

Yes we want to see how you manage the cost for the aquarium!! It looks super costly, just by how much water is required and all the electric bills. I am so inspired by your drip system I want to set up a new tank with it for my forever-growing pleco fish.

He's on a well so there is no water bill. I imagine the electricity is a factor but he's built it to be as efficient as possible so I bet it's not too bad. I've been thinking about a drip system myself, it sounds like a great idea and I could do it on my biggest tank.

Amazing videos! I'm not a fish keeper. And, I enjoy learning so much from your channel. I'm learning about fish, aquariums, back-room equipment, and the passion you have for your collection. Feeding, aqua-scaping, isolation for new fish, introduction of fish to their new environment, etc. You are SO commited to your hobby. When do you have the time to take care of your amazing body? Are you lifting full aquariums with each arm in your spare time? Your work-out exercises are definitely working. Your T-shirts demonstrate your commitment to your hobby. Great videos!

Ive got a totally unrelated question for Joey.
First off loving your DIY video's, your enthusiasm is really contagious.
Now im thinking of building my own tank but sadly plexiglass/acryllic is extremely expensive here(The Netherlands) so i was looking into polycarbonate sheets as they are allot cheaper.
Now i know they are stronger then plexiglass but there is very little information on it beeing used for aquariums.
Do you know of its safe to use or if there's a reason not to use it?

  • @handlehaggler

Joey, please make your 2000g look like the inside of an Amazonian river basin?!
A moss background wall would also be awesome and I hope to see a lot of plant projects similar to Dennis Wonng from you because you have the ability to do so and a lot of people use your channel as a learning resource and personally I feel like you haven't nearly touched on anything real about planted aquariums yet there's so much awesome stuff to it.

how frequently do you check your pH and nitrate levels? do you check any other levels? could you recommend any sources for research on what is the best level for tanks with a variety of different fish? Also, you've probably answered this in a past video, but which do you prefer, hang back filters or sumps? also I use a hang back filter, how can i make it to be near silent? you probably won't read this comment, but if you do. I really like what you're doing with the gallery and I can't wait to see what the future holds!
