What is the hottest your tubs ever get?
Here in Pacifica CA. A small shallow black tub (3.5 gallon) can reach 92F. Anything over 90F I place a screen over the top to reduce the direct sunlight. Or, I float the small tub into a larger (27gallon) tub.
Does the size of the tub matter at all? Is it possible to stunt growth with to much of a small size tub? Just curious. Don’t plan on having them in anything less than a 5 gallon
Like any fish, the size of the container has an effect on growth. But I have found that by monitoring the water (quality), the medakas have been growing fine after they reach a juvenile size. As an example a wider shallow 5 gallon will be more ideal than a deep 5 gallon.
Why do my small medakas that I keep in a 125 liter aquarium and they do not grow? I have had them for months and they are 3 or 4 centimeters long at most
3 to 4 cm is almost max size for Medaka . Are you talking about mm ?
@@medakametal I mean they are not even half the length of their parents
