After months and months of blockades, accusations, and tough negotiations, the House of Representatives finally gave the green light to continue military and financial assistance to #Ukraine.
We are talking about a huge spending package of about 60 billion dollars that will soon begin to flow to the battlefront in Ukraine. Now, what does this new aid package to Ukraine mean? Will it be enough? How far does the commitment set by Congress go? How could this measure change the direction of the #war?
#Russia
As someone has so rightly put it, "whenever yuu feel useless, please remember that it cost the USA thousands of lives, trilions of dollars and 20 years to replace the Taliban with the Taliban in Afghanistan".
That’s because we had a game show host as president who had zero geo political skills. We witnessed the “ art of the deal “
@@Rockboygg Actually, it was Trump who negotiated the US leaving Afghanistan. To be honest, it was what everyone in Afghanistan said they wanted, over and over. So he negotiated a withdrawal, and Biden did it when he took office, as per the agreement.

Only about 25 billion USD of those are for Ukraine - the rest is replacement funds for US military needs. And only about 8 billion worth will be delivered this year. Which is about in line with previous support levels - which means it's enough only to hold the front, no progress.
Meanwhile, USA has thousands of Bradleys, tens of thousands of Humvees, hundreds of F-15 and F-16, millions of cluster shells and thousands of rockets - that will never be used and are slowly getting safely destroyed (contracted for hundreds of millions USD). They were meant to defend Europe from USSR - and now they're destroying all this equipment for taxpayers' money, instead of sending it to Ukraine to be used for the original purpose. And all the while people still have to donate money for pickup trucks for Ukraine's military, because there's always a dearth of mechanization.
Makes no sense, absolute madness.
Majority of Democrats are fine with playing geopolitics and letting both sides slowly bleed out (or they don't care and let Biden's team do whatever), a good part of Republicans are MAGA isolationists who don't care, but neocon warhawks don't have the power to act anymore and are afraid of political consequences.
Ukrainians are disorganized and can't manage to demand these weapons (partly because they're under the spell of their local mostly state controlled media's optimistic propaganda), political leaders are in over their heads and muddle along with very slow progress and no bold, decisive moves.
Europe is still slow and somewhat split, but it was always ill-prepared, thinking that USA will use its military power, weapons' stocks and production capacity in these situations.
I mean, the front most likely won't significantly budge for years, but it's a constant stagnant unnecessary meat-grinder. Everything is bloody shit.

@@ademirrodriguez4209He was just stating economic numbers, relax bro
Considering what the operation in Afghanistan cost, this 60 billion is peanuts.
So, the US government has admitted to over $120 Billion over the last two years. This doen't include the billions of dollars of taxpayer money provided to the Ukraine from 2014 through 2022. Additionally, as of last June, the Ukraine reported that over $750 Billion in property has been destroyed or damaged. This number may well exceed $1 Trillion by this point. Essentially, the American taxpayers are already on the hook for well over $1.2 Trillion. You make a great point about the Global War on Terror (GWOT). It is estimated that the Federal government spent between $6 Trillion and $8 Trillion since 2001. All of this is added directly to the National Debt. The current National Debt is at $34 Trillion and is expected to exceed over $36 Trillion by this time next year. Every American taxpayer owes the United States government over $250,000 each to pay off the National Debt.
Yep but the economy ain't that of the early 2000s
@@jerrellholder8382 GDP in 2023 was almost three times that in 2000....

The US Department of Defense Budget alone is 800 billion. The afganistan war cost was 2.3 trillion in 20 years, which is 10% of the entire GDP for 2023. So the US spent about 0.5%of the GDP per year on the war effort. So yeah, it was peanuts.

Ukraine literally lost two villages less than 48hrs ago
That's about 1,340 russian lives per village, or the pile of rubble that used to be a tiny village. Impressive. And they took the town of Avdiivka at the price of only 5 troops lost per 1 former inhabitant. It only cost the russians 50,000 to capture that pile of rubble. russia is slowly crawling towards being the Worlds' top 1 in control over rubble. And has for a long time been number 1 in suffering high casualties since the end of WWII.
This's just money laundry through Ukraine.

You actively show a totally not Neo-N wearing a Black Sun patch at 7:09. What purpose is that for? Do you support the ideals of the Black Sun?
The "Black Sun" suggests that the soldier might be of the Azov Battalion and has been since before they removed that symbol from their badge. It's correct that it has become popular with some far-right groups, since it originally was used to small extent by the SS. The Nazi connotations of the symbol in that logo are lost on most people in Ukraine, and the logo rather has an association with _"a successful fighting unit that protects Ukraine"_ (Political scientist Ivan Gomza, Krytyka magazine, April 2022).
All symbols have the meaning that those who use it put into it. Different groups can use the same symbol, thus the symbol can have totally different meanings to different groups of people. The swastika f.ex. that the Nazis took as "their" symbol, have been used by many others in completely different connection, and in the Far East it's to this day only used as a symbol with "good" symbolism.

Europe have money, but no weapons. USA have weapons, but not much political will to spend money.
So when a few pro-russian traitors in congress blocks weapons shipments to Ukraine, there is not much Europe can do to help Ukraine. It does not matter if you got thousands of billions of Euros or dollars if you cannot turn that money into artillery shells here and now.
The rest of the world care about other things than war . Like their citizens healthcare, free education , childcare, full maternity leave with pay , homelessness…. You guys don’t seem to grasp that you’ll never recover the pretty decent reputation you’d not fully eroded with your own war criminality in various places.
Why doesn't the U.S. want to help Ukraine either by sending troops there or by sending the enough weapons? Who gave Ukraine security guarantees? Its neighbors or the USA and Great Britain? Who forbade Ukraine to hit targets inside Russia, because it does not even want fuel prices to rise? The Ukrainian had a chance to push Russia out in a counteroffensive, but they needed an order of magnitude more equipment. Ukraine's neighbors are watching and seeing how much the Anglo-Saxon guarantees are worth. Ukraine's neighbors see how Republicans have blocked aid to Ukraine for 1.5 years. Most likely, many Republicans are bribed or Putin has a papers on them. Ehh, that famous American lobbying, for which in a civilized country you would go to jail for many years. And then there will be astonishment that Ukraine's neighbors have started their own nuclear program.
