I always love the concept that canonically speaking, during multiple fights, our character whoops their enemy to half health, then just chills for like 2 minutes why they talk about personal problems before getting stronger.
I like to think the player character is just catching their breath. Oh, sure, gameplay means we don't need to worry about that, but in real life fighting these monsters would be *exhausting.*
Fitting since Messmer suffers from the same issues Morgott does, a lack of HP and crippling weakness to ranged attacks. I don't know if I was overleveled or anything, but Messmer could 2 or 3 shot me, and yet he died twice as fast as most other bosses, so he seemed a bit of a glass canon compared to the likes of Rellana or Bayle. Either that or he's weak to magic, since I was playing a sorcerer and haven't started my second playthrough with another character yet.
@@urtoryu_dy_althraidnlet me tell ya no boss has magic weakness in dlc, magic may seem good because it deals absurd damage regardless of 40% magic negation, majority of dlc bosses have fire, lightning(due to paddle of water in almost every single boss arena) and holy type of damages. I had faith dex build so I just used flame art infusion or lightning infusion or sacred blade against undead dragons, and putrescent knight. And funnily enough Radahn in 1st phase has 0 holy damage negation, maybe due to the fact he is soulles shell in 1st phase(i did not it when i was fighting him though)

It's been a bit of an odd experience to switch characters now and realize I'm doing more damage with less optimized builds than I was with my sorcerer, but I think it wasn't a bad call when playing sorcerer felt as balanced as it did (And I'm really exited for my holy character now that I looked at the resistances) Sorcery was always really powerful, but it's very fun to play with so I wouldn't like if it was nerfed. Having more resistant bosses is a good decision in my eyes. I also noticed the new bosses seem to avarege to 120 stance isntead of the 80 from the base game, which is probably following the same principles since stance breaking builds were extremely strong in the base game. (My strength playthrough was pretty much just as easy as my intelligence one because of that, if not even easier since I was more experience at the game)

A very calm start to the fight, ridiculing him only with martial arts then in phase 2 a mix of Genichiro with his whirling lightning attacks from the death knight's twin ax which reminded me so much of good old Levi it was incredible. | 6:16 옹발 축하해요 ❤

I can't wait to see you hitless the final boss. I have no idea how do dodge the attacks. I literally just won by tanking them with 60 vigor and morgott's rune.

i dunno man,i saw a lot of people saying messmer is the best boss of the dlc,but there are also others who claim it's garbage,there are a lot of mixed opinions about the dlc
1:38 okay so, Im not sure if its more consisttent because you are light rolling but I actually found it more effective to dodge INTO him when he goes for the flurry of stabs, you only need to dodge once and Ive yet to get to get clipped. Dunno
One huge difference with Souls games I’ve noticed is the dodge. You have to press the button way early since it activates on release while other games you dodge as soon as you hit the button. A little frustrating to be honest
Curious to see what your approach to doing the final boss hitless is! I've really struggled on him today, feels like there's some moves that are very hard to 100% dodge...
Well, I am at level 407, 99 vigor, strength, endurance and so on so forth; he single or couple shot me every time and I have played like more than 100, even with mimic tear, once was like close to defeat him but that was it, so it is satisfying to see dude in underwear and a hat can do it, bravo!
This has to be my favorite fight in the game. Really well telegraphed attacks, challenging without feeling like bs (I’m looking at you, Bayle) and just beautifully designed. Really well done on the no-damage kill.
You know if I be heavily promoted the DLC he isn't the final boss I'll give that pass because bloodborne DLC did something like this as well as focusing miquella
The delayed jab he does after scraping the spear on the floor.... I swear to God, this game only gets me with delayed attacks. My chest hurts from being poked 100 times.
This man is straight up menace to all souls like bosses. The DLC hasn't even been out that long and bro doing no damage runs. I can just imagine the bosses waiting in the boss room be like, "oh, someone is here.... oh, he's not wearing any armor. Fxck"
Most of the main DLC bosses are mid, so it's a given. The AI for most of them seems fucked. It's just slightly better than that of the ER Convergence mod.
