Sweeten Bath Time with Frosted Cup Cake Bath Bombs

- Make Cupcake and Frosting Bath Bomb!!! These cupcakes are seriously too cute! You can get really creative when making them; multi-colored icing swirls, different candy sprinkles, various eco friendly glitter, etc. Happy cupcake bath bomb-making!!!
CUPCAKE RECIPE: 2 cups (500 grams) baking soda, 1 cup (200 grams) citric acid, ½ cup (60 grams) corn starch. + 15 milliliters fragrance oil, 10 milliliters polysorbate 80, & 10 milliliters cocamidopropyl betaine. MOLDING: I suggest a hard & sturdy mold; they’re much easier to mold with & your cupcake won’t crumble. Anytime you’re using a mold with 1 side, pack it & make top as flat as possible. DRY 24 hours.
ICING: 1.5 tablespoons meringue powder & 2 tablespoons (30 milliliters) warm water. Mix to dissolve meringue powder (it'll be light & frothy). Add 1.5 cups powdered sugar, a bit at a time. Beat/whip 7-10 minutes. Check for stiff peaks. ***If it's not thick enough, add ¼ cup (30 grams) corn starch. {I added extra sugar & ¼ cup corn starch & It became so thick I could no longer mix it, so I knew it was ready. PIPING: Use a big tip for this (Wilton “1m”). Always start with your ugliest cupcake. Icing gets easier & prettier with each cupcake. If you mess up, allow icing to dry then pop it off & start over! The icing begins to dry as soon as its piped, so place decorations IMMEDIATELY after piping. Let dry 24 hours {You probably won't have to wait this long for icing to dry}. TIP: To remedy loose icing tops, pour a bit of melted soap base on cupcake & immediately place icing on. The icing becomes ROCK hard! USES: You can pop the top off, or just let it slowly dissolve in the tub. It's just sugar, it wont hurt you - but it's not very vivacious either. It's mainly for decoration ONLY (when sitting on top the pretty cupcake bath bomb).

Hi Dora. Great recipe! I am trying to find a good bubble frosting that doesn’t use sugar, and dries rock hard. I have even bought someone’s recipe for it and it won’t harden. If you could create one for bath bomb cupcakes without sugar that would be amazing!

love your videos when I take a break from my own business! Relaxing to watch..your creativity is refreshing to see..many youtube videos are the same ..do you have a different recipe for frosting though that doesnt include sugar> customers do not want sugar in their tub and many worry about infections though you assure them its not likely to happen..I have bought and tried many even a new soap frosting you just heat up and use supposed to be for soaps bath bombs bubble bars but it doesnt stick like promised. It does frost amazingly well and does get rock hard, but its very expensive..still looking for a good frosting recipe .
Thank you boo! I don’t have a recipe like that…maybe 1 day. All my recipes change every time because they’re constantly evolving. Although, like you just said- there really isn’t a big down side to using sugar… it doesn’t create action in the tub but as far as making frosting, it can’t be beat!

Awesome!! Let me know how it turns out! The bomb/icing will stay good for a long time, probably over a year, but the reactions (fizz, foam, etc) of the bomb diminish over time. I’d use within 6 months for sure!

The icing can go in the water too with the bomb or do you take that off first
You can absolutely put the icing in water! It doesn’t do much (slowly dissolves & lightly colors the water pink) but that’s about it.... but you can also pop it off before hand. It’s your choice!

I have been looking for a bubble frosting recipe that doesn’t contain the meringue powder. My son wants e to make a cupcake bomb for him with bubble frosting but he’s is so allergic to egg that if egg touches his skin even he has a reaction. Any advice would be of great help!
