Toast is in my top 5. Great system by itself, but unfortunately I've heard too many stories that the company itself is not the most ethical. Story after story of hidden fees or something buried in a contract that wasn't discussed, and then denied later that they didn't disclose everything. I'm a fan of the system, but not the people behind the system as much.
@@DaveAllredTheRealBarman as a food truck owner, I 100% back this up!!!!!!!!! The best features but the ethics and customer support are AWFUL. They tried to charge me for a $2k invoice that does not belong to me. When I initially got equipment, I was calling in 5-6 days a week for the first 1.5-2 months of having it. For context, I’m very proficient with software and technology. They just suck!
Our restaurant is switching to toast and today will be my first time using it as a server. Really not excited after looking for videos on how to use it and seeing so many negative experiences with it!
That's true, and this is because the processing percentage is never set in stone. It can be negotiated and changed based on your contract. I don't want to throw a number out there, only to have it be different than I quoted when you speak to them. I hope that makes sense. Cheers.
Hey Jacob, for a smaller venue, I would probably look at Square. They are limited in some aspects, but it works well for small businesses: square.sjv.io/729ky
I would look at Square for this. They have a free plan or low-cost plan if need be for smaller venues. Overall Square is not at the top of my list for full-service restaurants, but it could work great for a mobile bar business. Best of luck.
Hi, thanks for posting. What would you recommend for a strictly drive-thru restaurant? Basic menu focused on quick easy meals. We would like for it to integrate with app and online orders. Looking at Cake or MYR. Would Lightspeed handle drive through POS well? Thanks in advance!
Question for you, Sir. If a customer mistakenly put a recyclable tray or basket in the garbage, and then apologized after you corrected them and explained why it can't be disposed, what would you say to him? Is there any chance you would add, "Just don't let it happen again"?
@@Carloss18 That's very interesting...because the manager I encountered actually did say "Just don't let it happen again." That sounds a bit absurd to a customer, don't you think?
@@johnrainsman6650 if it were something bigger like being disrespectful to a waiter or other customers then maybe saying just please don’t let it happen again. Would be fine. But not for mistaking recycling and trash.
Hey Dave I just had an experience with Clover you won’t believe. I am getting ready to produce a video on the experience and thought you might want to discuss off the record before I post.
Hey Dave, What would you recommend for a Pack and Ship store. Similar to USPS and UPS. Thanks I'm also a beginner just starting out. I need a POS system like yesterday.
Hey Jerry, you would want to probably use something smaller like Square. I'm not sure of the shipping store needs for a POS system, but it doesn't seem like it would be too robust.
There are, but they are rare to find and are usually outdated models. There's not much money to be made by just selling the hardware to restaurants, which is why nearly every POS company has gone to the subscription model and/or transaction model.
Is possible to use translate For example i have a dish that is written spanish and english And i Would like to choose one of them depending when is needed
Hey Wilson, you would need to ask during your demo of each POS system what they can do as far as language goes. I know some of them are only based in the U.S. so probably not. Others, like Lightspeed, are in over 100 countries, so they would be able to.
Square is known to hold funds. Though it's capable, I'm not a big fan of clover. You can check out my review on them here: ua-cam.com/video/-9oB7ztji9U/v-deo.html
My restaurant just got Spoton and I immediately hated it. The user interface is confusing and hard to work. Updating the menu is so complicated. The whole layout and system looks dated
Toast is a very good POS system Cody. Great features, easy to use. The main issue I have with them is I keep hearing nightmare stories from bar/restaurant owners about them being sneaky/unethical in their contracts and not providing the customer service they need. The system is really good. The company and their ethics? Jury's still out for me.

can you recommend free or more cheaper pos system for my cafe? for example Loyverse or Square or ehopper etc?
Hey Ronin, Square is not a bad option for this. I would recommend you check them out.
@@DaveAllredTheRealBarman their fee and support seem a bit worrying to me after checking a bit

Yes, it does integrate with Quickbooks for $29/mo.
