John Cooper is the lead singer and founding member of Skillet, one of the best-selling Christian rock groups of all time. He’s also a podcaster and author whose newest book is called “Wimpy, Weak, and Woke: How Truth Can Save America from Utopian Destruction.”
John sits down with Brandon to talk about the band’s rise; raising a family while touring the world; how he defines wokeness and why he feels compelled to speak out against it now; and his alternate vision for a brighter future.
    He also talks about:
    • His personal religious journey in the wake of his mother passing away from cancer
    • Learning to treat his music career like a business
    • How he and his wife divide responsibilities and stay in their lanes
    • Why he warns Christian families not to send their kids to public school
    • The Marxist origins of Critical Race Theory (CRT)
    • The Black Lives Matter riots in his hometown of Kenosha, Wisconsin
    • Woke ideology infiltrating Christian church leadership
    • Why he believes more people than ever will be born again as Christians in 2024

How the radios didn't wanna play Whispers in the Dark is just beyond my understanding! That is one of the best songs I've ever heard in my life! It's the song that made me a Skillet fan! 🔥🔥🔥

I find it interesting to compare Harrison Bergeron with a Christian perspective. Jesus didn't go around making everyone else lame and leprous to level the playing field... he did exactly the opposite. I think there are a lot of Moon Glampers out there who think they're Ballerinas.

    Great interview! Thanks for sharing.
The book is also an amazing read, worth the effort of going through the 400+ pages. I enjoyed and learnt quite a lot about a topic I thought I would have a hard time finding more/new information. Recommended.

Let me give a testimony to God's goodness here.
10 years ago, I was homeless. I had no car. I had no home. I had a small gym bag with a handful of clothes and an air mattress covered in duct tape. Now, I'm a homeowner, like I actually own a house. I have 2 cars, one for me and one for my wife. We have 4 children 6 years old and younger. We do all of this on a single income. I only make $20/hour, and my wife stays home and homeschools our kids. We make it work because we trust God to make it work. No, we don't have much. Yes, sometimes it takes a while to fix things in the house while we save the money for it. Yes, it's tight. No, we don't take vacations very often. But the security we have knowing our children are being raised in the way they should go is priceless. If we can do it, anyone can.

Gender identity is not how *you* identify yourself; I think that's where John's getting confused. Gender roles are created by society; like women getting their ears pierced to enhance their femininity and beauty. Or like men growing tough-looking facial hair and wearing leather and inspiring tattoos. Your gender identity is the way you fit yourself into those roles that society created for you.
But John likes getting his ears pierced, like any little girl at the piercing pagoda. His gender identity is male, and we see him as male... even though he uses a shitload of mousse in his hair and behaves like a stereotypical little girl when it comes to jewelry.
Put John in a society where gender roles are different, like an indigenous village in South America or a war-loving central African tribe... or even a billion dollar office in Kuala Lumpur; and his arguments make no sense because he's the one with the confused idea of gender.
Sex on the other hand is cut and dry. You can be male, female, or intersex; all of medical science is in agreement on this the world over.
