Hello Mike, this is also a very good Video from your site. The length of the Video is good enough for a comprehensive overview of a very important measurement in fiber optics. Many thank for that!

I need to get my OTDR calibrated, new to this position with my company- how do I go about doing that? Where do I send it?

Here is a link to the calibration page on the Fluke Networks website. There is a phone number on the page where you can obtain a RMA number to send it in. www.flukenetworks.com/content/calibration-services

9:58 Oh NOW you want to inspect the bulk head :) You never checked or cleaned the bulk head when connecting launch & tail cable e.g. at 4:15

Great point! From a training standpoint, sometimes it's better I don't, so I can show what happens when you don't clean it first. It is good practice to clean the bulkhead connector before inserting the fibers. I'll do a video showing the bulkhead connector under a microscope so people can see how much gunk is in there. Thank you for the comment.

Sir how to solve negative loss

    • @MikePennacchi

Negative loss is most likely caused by a difference in backscatter between the fibers. To get an accurate measurement, you must measure in both directions and take the average, know as bi-directional averaging. I'll do a video on that shortly.
