I love them being together. Somehow, they fit each other. I can see the development of Takumi character. When he is with Hachi, he becomes gentler and kinder. Takumi knows what he wants. He wants a warm and happy family as he grew up in a dysfunctional family. He has a strong sense that Hachi can build a happy family and a safe harbour for him whenever he returns.
Takumi character is deep and interesting.
I read this manga when I was around 16 years old. This manga has special place in my heart and I cannot move on from it. Hopefully, Yazawa Ai would get back to finish Nana. This would be the best gift for me and all readers. ❤

Watching it for the first time, I don't really quite understand their relationship and easily call it toxic. However, after a few times watching them, it made me clear that why Takumi is behaving that way. He has a very dark background and to be honest, most individual with dark history usually goes through depression and Takumi seems good at hiding them but his actions showed that he was actually weak and afraid. He can't even understand his own feelings of love towards Nana until Ren told him. His weakness is always Nana but he's afraid to show it to her. Yes, he cheated because he was a bad boy and he is a popular guitarist. Its darn difficult to find a celebrity who is as popular as him who can actually stay loyal and faithful. He even admitted to Nana that he isn't a faithful person to start with but Nana accepted him for who he was and who he is. I even read the manga of this beautiful story, and their relationship actually made a positive progress as time passes by. Little by little with two kids, Takumi is learning not only to be a good father but also a good husband to Nana. Nana is indeed someone very optimistic even though she cried so many times. Her character here has showed me how she can become someone so immature and playful about love to someone so mature when comes to love especially when she took the responsibility to raise her own little angel. Not every woman is that brave enough to raise one after getting the news of being pregnant with someone whom "supposedly" an ex boyfriend. But being Nana herself, she is unique and pure with her own feelings. I always find it miserable but isn't it amazing how Nana is able to overcome her sadness and insecurity because of one little human being who is growing in her belly? I also believe that not everyone feels love similarly. Everyone has their genuine and unique kind of way of showing and feeling the true love. While this is Hachi aka Nana Komatsu, who we keep talking about here. For me, I couldn't compare Nana with any other character or myself as a woman because Nana can never be me and I can never be Nana. Like if I said she was actually being raped for so many times but looking back at her story, she has never once claimed that herself instead he keeps falling in love with him. I feel its wrong to put words in Nana's mouth. And after reading the manga, their relationship actually grew stronger and Nana could only find more reasons to stay with Takumi instead of asking for a divorce. I believe, as we grew older, most of us at least have the intention to change to become a better human being in the future. Even if it is not for anybody but at least we would want to do it for ourselves. Nana is also a very passionate, determine and patient woman. With all of her hard work, I believe, she will eventually get something great in return. Life is indeed a learning journey. Its full of obstacles and tribulations. Only with mistakes, flaws, sins and weaknesses could teach us properly about the reality of true life and the beauty of love. If we don't take a chance on it, we won't be able to see the changes we always dream of wanting to witness all this while. Some people give up easily on love or life while some don't. Different people have different view and perspective about life and love and we can only appreciate and respect one's decision. We as audience can always lend a helping hand if they ask for one but we can also sit and just watch how it will turn out to be. As for myself, I have always learn to appreciate the process rather than enjoying the result. Life and love is not about losing or winning but its a learning process for us to become more human or inhumane. Its always easier said than done. And I, myself was once a messed up, damaged and broken teenager. The bitter past is always unforgettable even with zillion of good memories with me. I don't even know how to fall in love and getting hurt is a pleasant feeling for me sometimes. I was and still in depression mode. That is why I can at least understand a little about Takumi's and Nana's life. But I know I may not be absolutely right cause I also believe that there is no right or wrong in anybody's opinion as long as it does not humiliate and insult the character's physical appearance such as body shaming and etc... As I grew older, I learnt to respect individual's point of view and people's thought better. Lastly, if Nana is the reason that Takumi Ichinose can improve to be a good person in and out, why not? Everybody deserves a second chance in this life and Takumi is actually falling in love for the very first time in his life. So, for an individual who is a very very popular celeb to turn into a new leaf is way too possible but it takes lots and lots of time.

Experiencing life as once a broken soul with major depressive disorder and with those times haunted by darkness from the past has really really open up my eyes and heart. And also made me realise what is reality like. Is not easy to be able to differentiate between sugar and salt without tasting them. Just like this journey of life, we need to taste it and sometimes we need to learn to embrace those hurtful moments just to be able to survive in the future... That's also part of the reason why I'm always interested in people like Takumi and somehow, I managed to understand them at least a little. I don't know... But honestly, from my own experiences tasting my own life... Love is indeed complicated to understand... I don't even understand what is actually true love coming from another soul and as for me, I always feel the pain going through the process of wanting to understand it, either...

I actually like the idea of Takumi and Hachi being together. Nobu deserved better definitely but Takumi was Hachi's obsession, in reality even when she tried to stay with Nobu, she couldn't keep herself apart from Takumi because they had developed with one another for too long. There are some moments in the manga and that one moment in the anime, which Takumi becomes impulsive and their relationship seems iffy but I believe that Hachi and Takumi staying together was for the best. Nobu needed Hachi to let him go so he could move on. and Many believe Takumi is heartless but I believe he is a businessman to his band more than being 'heartless', he obviously cares somewhat for Hachi and their children otherwise he wouldn't have taken responsibility for everything, plus he tries his hardest to keep his personal life far apart from his business career/life which is for the safety of the band and along the safety of his family. He wouldn't want Hachi getting caught up in all Trapnest/BLAST conflict because she's his wife and mother of their children.
Yes, Takumi for sure has done some questionable things and yes, he's got a reputation. But Hachi accepts that and stays with him through it all for the sake of their children, even Takumi states that he does sleep around, in a certain way, implying to Hachi that she could choose to stay with him or leave and be with someone else (Nobu) but she stays and that somewhat proves that both care for their family more overall, and Takumi is a good father, he looks after his children. Being a tormented kid from a troublesome and lonely childhood, I am quite amazed that Takumi held his love and responsibility for his family over the band at some points, and he cares for them, along with all the stress of being the businessman of Trapnest.
Hachi and Takumi have a family together and I believe that though they may have their hardships and they have their flaws and mistakes, they stick together for their family.
Btw this is an awesome representation of their relationship in the series, and the song does quite work, especially if it's through Hachi's struggle having to choose between Nobu and Takumi.

@@khlsh35 actually he did, and I’d like to say my perspective on their relationship has changed since that comment. The manga definitely shows us and tells us another side of their relationship which the anime skipped out on. I still don’t fully hate Takumi’s character and do still somewhat believe that Hachi choosing him over nobu was better (purely because Nobu deserves better then being with a girl who had trouble being loyal, but I’m not blaming Hachi and I really hope she gets a better life and I love her). But no, Takumi actually did rape her, both in the manga and tje anime, when they meet with nana at the apartment and he found out the child could be Nobu’s, that scene when he pinned her down while nana was still in the house (it’s the episode/chapter where the strawberry glass breaks), that’s when he raped her, silence doesn’t mean consent and Hachi never actually consented to that time, which means he did rape her. I hold that against his character and I don’t think he’ll ever live up to being forgiven for that, but I do like every one of Ai Yazawa’s characters because their realistic and 3 dimensional.
@@ThoughtProvokingVlogs yes i have noticed that now, back when I posted that comment I was still so focus on nobu and quite bias person towards the characters of nana, so now that I’ve rewatched and read the manga I understand scenes more maturely, and my opinion has in some parts shifted from my previous comment.
@@kaicastellano83 I would also like to add that Hachi wasn't silent before he physically raped her. She tried to come up with a few excuses as to why she should try to "make him happy." at that time, and you can clearly hear the discomfort and terror in her voice when she does. Its been a while since I've seen the episode, but if I remember correctly when the scene pans out of the bedroom and back to Nana you can hear muffled screaming? I don't think Nana forged enough of a relationship for her to be exclusive with Nobu at that time anyway (then again I'm demisexual and demiromantic so) and the only reason I am somewhat content with Hachi tying the knot with Takumi is because he is hardly ever home so he doesn't get much of a chance to domestically abuse her. I do wonder how their relationship will affect the child, an absent and abusive father figure is not in anyway healthy. Really the only outcome I see fit is where Nana and Hachi are exclusive partners. Their relationship was perfect for one another. However this viewpoint is coming from a limited perspective as I haven't yet read the manga.

This video is literally perfect, and the song is very suitable. I don't know how many times I've rewatched it. I've just finished the manga and you know what? It's sooo sad, that we don't have the whole story, because there were some times when I was almost disappointed in Takumi and how he treats Hachi, but then he said he loved her after all those times when he slept with other women and oh god with Reira, I just didn't know how should I treat Takumi. I think, Hachi wouldn't be able to leave Takumi instead of Nobu. She really loves him, and in one chapter Hachi from our time said that she still loved him, although they don't live together anymore. I believe that Takumi loves Hachi too. Maybe she's not the only one, but he loves her as he can. He takes care of her, even if sometimes it seems like he doesn't. He trusts her and gives her freedom. It's not perfect love. But they are good together. They accept issues of each other and what a fuck I have written so much... So, I like their couple)

I like the edit, just a reminder that we shouldn't romanticize their relationship. It's toxic and although the manga is not yet finished I can still say that although he does care for Hachi it's still a toxic relationship with an imbalanced power dynamic since he's the one providing financially so Nana is dependent on him. He sure knows this and it's a common pattern in abusive relationships that one party is either emotionally, financially or in other ways dependent on the other and cannot get out of this relationship easily. He did some unforgivable things that cannot be forgiven. I have seen many comments especially from very young viewers defending him saying that although he cheats he always comes back to her. She's an adult so she kinda accepted it before getting into this relationship BUT what choices did she have? She was very young and gullible, easy to manipulate and on top of that got pregnant with his child because HE REFUSED TO use a condom. How can you say he loves her when he does not respect her enough to NOT CHEAT on the mother of his children?!
When I heard Takumi talking bad about Nana like she's some impure and gullible girl, I hated him. But seeing Little actions of him.. I think (based on anime purely) That he doesn't hate her but doesn't love her that crazy level either. But he understands her emptiness as if relating to it and seeking the same from her for his hole. He does care for her in a kinda twisted way, other aspects I'll know after I'll read the manga

I think hachi x takumi is the best couple cuz
1. that thing about her being number 2 in his life has changed cuz now music has to be his number 1 for his wife and baby the music is the only income they have so it really means now that hachi is number one
2. When everyone says how takumi sleeps around it shows that he has decided to stop doing that when he wipes Stella’s name off the glass window , I think it was symbolism that he’s done with that part of his life and wants a CLEAN SLATE (get it, hehe.. )

I've made several thoughts whether Hachi's choice to stick with Takumi and left Nobu was right. In my point of view, considering Hachi's situation. (No decent job, very self centered and needs to be pampered) Nobu isn't a good fit. I know you guys would disagree and will say that they can survive. But this is a reality base situation. Impromptu decision, Nobu is not yet ready for any responsibility financial wise. Also Hachi considered Nobu's situation. Nobu longs for his career to be a successful musician so asking Nobu to take responsibility for her child specially when she's in doubt if Nobu is the father is very risky. It is tormenting the fact that she chose Takumi coz we all know she will suffer pain as Takumi is a womanizer. But on the other hand, they are using each other. Hachi loves Takumi coz she's being pampered. Remember that Hachi is a happy go lucky girl and couldn't sit in one place specially that Nana is with her. Her love for Nana is more than the love she has with Takumi in a sense. Meanwhile, Takumi is also focus on his career. He jumps from woman to woman yes but at the end of the day, he knows his responsibility and still goes back to Hachi. The only painful thing is that he only cares for her when he sees her.

I don't think that little girl in the end is Hachi and Takumi's kid. They had a son who they named after Ren. And there is a theory that this little girl is actually Nana and Ren's daughter. Probably Nana found out that she was pregnant after Ren's accidental death.

No. Nana left Tokyo without telling anyone. The little girl is Takumi and Hachi's child. It was obvious that the girl has the genes of Takumi since they have same hair color. Both of them also had a son which they named after Ren.

And I know that Nana left Tokyo without telling anyone and the theory I heard clearly said that Nana learned about her pregnancy after Ren's death and then after giving birth to the girl, Nana abandoned the child and vanished in thin air. And from that day onward, Hachi and Takumi took the responsibility to raise the girl as their own for Nana was Hachi's best friend and Ren was Takumi's former bandmate.

And i thought that's how it was since there was a chapter that Naoki tells Takumi that satsuki misses her brother ren and convinces him to find Nana so that Hachi can be with him in England.
