i think atl has really changed MLS as a whole. its brought so much attention from overseas to the league bc of its attendance and young talent and i hope other clubs in mls take notes and that we continue to grow as a league.
P1tri0t definitely. Never been so proud of Atlanta. Not only that we placed in the top half of the table this year and we are looking for a reasonable cup win.
Just got home from the game tonight. It was my 3rd Mls game and 2nd Atlanta United game. It was my first time in Mercedes-Benz stadium and let me tell you, there is nothing like the atmosphere and fan section. Atlanta IS a soccer city
Atlanta has such a big fanbase for soccer, its so cool seeing a team like this being successful in the MLS. Just a step closer to helping the league become bigger!
Atlanta United is one of the best teams to watch in person. If you ever get a chance to watch them play live do it. Plus when they are at home that's a whole new experience.
Just watched the Atlanta Vs Toronto game which finished 5 minutes ago. WOW !! what a great stadium, exciting game, and amazing fans. Now I have a favourite MLS team. Your fans were awesome, great atmosphere, chanting all through the game supporting the team. Shame about the free kick near the end but it had to be something special. Your players battled well for the ball and deserved the win I thought. Hope I'll get chance to see you play on Wednesday playoff game. Best of luck. Big respect from Glasgow Celtic fan..
I'm 36 and live in the UK but as a kid I always wondered why the US didn't like football aka soccer because it's the greatest sport on earth. Glad to see you've finally seen the beauty of the game and why Europe are football mad!!! 😍😊
I'm glad they made a Atlanta team. I thought no one cared about football/soccer in Atlanta. I've supported Atlanta United even before they debuted and saw them score their first goal ever vs New York Red Bull's .
I think the stadium helps a lot too. It's a new stadium and it's extremely cool and provides the best fan experience of any new stadium in America. If you get a nice crowd in that place cheering on the home team they could almost be playing badminton and it would still be a lot of fun. You put the exciting team they have in there and that might be the best total fan experience in America.
Ernesto Cervantez Because weaker teams in the MLS right now know that they don't need to spend big and they will still remain financially secure by staying in the league, hence taking away the competitive edge. But introduce relegation, and suddenly there's a massive incentive to succeed, bring in players etc because there's a lot more to lose. That'll only bring out the best in the MLS.
Ernesto Cervantez Haha nah I get where you're coming from, Chicago have done well to get to where they are and some weaker teams have spent the money. But it isn't a requirement and some teams just seem content to cruise the MLS with the security of knowing they can never be relegated. For me at least though, relegation battles in the European leagues add to the drama and intensity of football. Whereas being 15/20 points off the playoffs come the end of the season means MLS teams have little to nothing to actually play for. I feel like thats probably contributed to the reputation MLS has for being a "retirement home".
The beauty of the sport is that some weirdo or poor city can start a team and work towards becoming the country's best without first to pay millions too some league!!!!
Proud of Atlanta United fan, I become since March of this year because of Giorgos Giakoumakis. I hope someday will conquer the MLS Championchip as Bayer 04 Leverkusen conquered Bundesliga for 1st time this season in 120 years of history. 😁😁😁😁😁
Comment section just filled with obsessed brits and Mexicans (who's born and raised in america) hating on the mls so they can feel better about themselves.
A Random Celtics Fan really makes you wonder. Not like MLS is a threat, so why spend so much time cutting it down online? Is their identity so rooted in their native football league success that has nothing to do with them personally?
ATLiens looking to change the perception of MLS and soccer in the US and around the world. Don't hate, participate. Why not appreciate leagues all around the world? Do we not all love football for the love of the sport?
That's why I think they should franchise American football teams into MLS, the same way for instance FC Barcelona as a sporting club also has departments for Ice Hockey, Basketball, Rugby etc. So you could have the Atlanta Falcons FC, tapping into the history and tradition of the NFL team, and hopefully also pick up some of their fanbase. Or alternatively even the Atlanta Braves or the Atlanta Hawks from the baseball/ basketball franchises. Football would be better though, because it can even open up the possibility of groundsharing.
Its the only team that is truly in the South.. So all us Southerns are going to support them until we get a team of our own which most likely will never happen for someone like me in Kentucky. Plus they are fun as hell to watch.
We don't consider Orlando the south it is only south by location. It has nothing else in common with the other southern states aside form a few rural parts of Florida..
Well why would we do that? Comparing a soccer club to a football club here doesn't make sense. I believe he's comparing it with an english soccer club and not an american football team.
theoriginalanimeker You cant compare a FOOTBALL team to a SOCCER team. I mean, you cant compare an american team(or canadian) to a English team. And i mean THE REAL FOOTBALL not the shit handegg
I went to like 4 silverbacks games, they were pretty bad and the rosters would change constantly so you couldn't really get attached to the team. Atlanta United is not just a better team but the atmosphere is also miles better than at any silverbacks game.
Yes, 40,000 season tickets sold (10,000 before they even had a name) all bandwagon fans. SMH haters will be haters - ATLUTD sold more season tickets without a name than Silverbacks had seats in the stadium.
**Benjamin Olortegui**Like I said earlier, this used to be KICK, and there wasn't as much MLS bullshit as there is now. The idiot here is you for not understanding what I'm saying.
@Imapuddles1 we've played football longer than hundred years son, just look up some English football teams and see how old they really are. The first football international was played between England and Scotland in the 1860s. Learn some respect.
@Imapuddles1 See that's were you have no idea. A team that's having a 3rd shot at football and your having a go at European teams, let's see what happens when your good times are in short supply and your corporate owners are lossing money, your so called traditions (ha ha )will get you no were. The average US football fan has never been brought up like European or South American fans with the passion and commitment we have. I'm a long standing season ticket holder with Newcastle United and we've won nowt since the 60s but the city lives and breathes " The Toon " 52000 go every home match, let see what happens if ever the wheels come off for your team, will you still be there. You still have a long way to go before the MLS can achieve anything, so pay your dues to the bigger league's of the world, don't think you can run before you can walk.
@Imapuddles1 And will you still support them throughout the bad times. Your league must have promotion and relegation to make it comparable to the big league's. Were is the excitement in knowing that your safe every season before a ball is kicked.
Do you think Atlanta United is MLS 3.0?

If they keep it up they could do well in the concacaf champions league
Atlanta United is one of the best teams to watch in person. If you ever get a chance to watch them play live do it. Plus when they are at home that's a whole new experience.

Atlanta, and Portland Should be examples on how to support teams(also Montreal, Seattle and Toronto)
I'm glad they made a Atlanta team. I thought no one cared about football/soccer in Atlanta. I've supported Atlanta United even before they debuted and saw them score their first goal ever vs New York Red Bull's .

Atlanta United, Atlanta United, Atlanta United
Atlanta United will have a great future
Awesome atmosphere, great for the league and US soccer in general. Hope the LAFC has a similar impact:)
*MLS should get promotion and relegation...*
Ernesto Cervantez Because weaker teams in the MLS right now know that they don't need to spend big and they will still remain financially secure by staying in the league, hence taking away the competitive edge. Is there promotion from the NASL and USL to MLS? If not there should be, they have the same governing body.
Ernesto Cervantez Haha nah I get where you're coming from, Chicago have done well to get to where they are and some weaker teams have spent the money. But it isn't a requirement and some teams just seem content to cruise the MLS with the security of knowing they can never be relegated. MLS is in bed with the NCAA. Pro/Reg will never happen.
Proud of Atlanta United fan, I become since March of this year because of Giorgos Giakoumakis. I hope someday will conquer the MLS Championchip as Bayer 04 Leverkusen conquered Bundesliga for 1st time this season in 120 years of history. 😁😁😁😁😁

people always forget about canada when they talk about mls. canada has 3 teams total and 2 are top of each conference.
Comment section just filled with obsessed brits and Mexicans (who's born and raised in america) hating on the mls so they can feel better about themselves.

Soccer (noun): 1) A person who plays association football. 2) An alternate name for association football.
Origin: England.
Nycfc going all the way
This video severely under-sells the support of the Silverbacks for several years. Go 'Backs.
Atlanta Divided!
Si they abandoned their club for mls instead of helping them with their financial problems

Mrhomerunner09 Well it's only been a few years and they barely started ATL United this year.
Mrhomerunner09 There’s no history for Atlanta United, but Atlanta in one of the most iconic cititea in America
Mrhomerunner09 Actually Atlanta has had 3 soccer teams before maybe even more
America? north or south or do u mean both?
That's why I think they should franchise American football teams into MLS, the same way for instance FC Barcelona as a sporting club also has departments for Ice Hockey, Basketball, Rugby etc. So you could have the Atlanta Falcons FC, tapping into the history and tradition of the NFL team, and hopefully also pick up some of their fanbase. most bandwagonable club today

Deathless you absolute goon orlando is more south that atlanta
Emile Heskey sorry, bandwagon-able*
We don't consider Orlando the south it is only south by location. It has nothing else in common with the other southern states aside form a few rural parts of Florida..
progressive luciferian tyrant exactly the only “southern” about florida is north florida
Atl fans thinks they are so special because they have tradition..... every team has tradition....
Brand new stadium that ain't their it belongs to the falcons
Chandler Thornton Studios well most of teams that play in that stadium are American football teams.
SOCCER NO IS FOOTBALL ;)
Toronto FC is better than Everton.
lol
UsualScript You just cant compare a FOOTBALL CLUB to a SOCCER CLUB
Can't compare a true supporter to a plastic
Well why would we do that? Comparing a soccer club to a football club here doesn't make sense. I believe he's comparing it with an english soccer club and not an american football team.

Nah that's Orlando City SC.
These are Bandwagon fans that never should up to Silverbacks games.

With the way that the Atlanta Ultras have treated Atlanta United, by completely rooting against AUFC, I refuse to buy into anything Silverbacks again.
Red Bull’s will win
dont remind me about carlos the mercenary joining LA FC such a waste of talent
Stop promoting MLS. It's a shit league no one (outside the US) wants to watch.
the league could be better if there were consequences for playing shit, i.e bottom teams are relegated
its a us page idiot
Well it hasn't always been. I'm pretty sure the MLS/US Soccer payed this channel to redesign how it works. Thus, it is now promoting MLS.
Watch your language young boy.
**Benjamin Olortegui**Like I said earlier, this used to be KICK, and there wasn't as much MLS bullshit as there is now. The idiot here is you for not understanding what I'm saying.
