Great pair of ancient Roman coins from Vespasian and Titus featuring the Colosseum. I saw some corrosion on the planchets , but most early Imperial Roman copper coins have been in heavy circulation so it´s absolutely okay. Thanks for sharing, and can´t wait to see your next highlights. 👍Greets from GER, U. P.S. 12:00 A late Roman Tetradrachme from Alexandria, Egypt. 12:19 A Folles from Constantine the Great, VOT type.
Made of copper/bronze. A lot of ancient coin collectors, including me, do not like graded/slabbed ancient coins. They prefer holding them raw in their hand which does not harm them. But there are more ancients being graded/slabbed these days. Like modern coins, there are ancient fake coins. It's wise to buy ancient coins from well known trusted dealers.
For most of Spartan history, they didn’t mint coins. Especially not during the Battle of Thermopylae. The Spartans avoided coins because their government doesn’t like the idea of citizens holding private property and wealth. I don’t get why 2A & Liberty people love Spartans so much considering that Sparta was the closest thing to Communism during ancient times. You shouldn’t get your history lessons from movies like 300……
Another stellar vid, T. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
So awesome! Amazing coins and history about the colosseum. So cool!! I met Aaron at the Baltimore Coin show. Thanks for sharing my friend
I love your channel ❤️
I'm so glad you're doing this for us today. The history behind the coins around the world 👍
Ancient coins are amazing! When else can you hold something from 2,000 years ago in your hand?

Good morning T’S.
Aaron Berk has quite a job!!!
T, Sherrie has a few ancient coins, I picked up one from her last week.
Thanks T ❤
My pleasure!
What are those two coins made out of? And is there a reason those aren't graded? Great video!!!

I need a coin from the Battle of Thermopylae in 480 B.C. - The infamous battle when the Spartans said, “MOLON LABE!

I would not buy it without NGC certification lol
: )
ngc doesn't guarantee authenticity, plus you would not be able to touch the coin and you cannot see the rim, both of which are very important.
@@whybob1930 NGC only slabs authentic coins so they guarantee authenticity
Aaron berk is a foremost expert. Like the previous comment ngc doesn't certify the authenticity. Although experts look at it.
