Thank you x 1k for telling a first time waypoint/poi Litchi flyer how to begin the mission after it has been plotted. I have watched at least a dozen Litchi tutorials for beginners and you are the only one to mention positioning THE S1 SWITCH. Thank you for reeling me into the light. Yep, I’m a new subscriber to your site. “You the man!” 👍🏽🇺🇸
Excellent video and very easy to understand. I've had the Litchi App for a while but never had the courage to use it, but with the latest 'compulsory' DJI GO update and the comments made about it's problems seems now is the time to use Litchi. Besides I've heard it's a lot better than the DJI App! Thanks again for the great video.
I have a couple of questions, but This is GREAT because almost everybody else on YT explains only about doing this orbit flight via the online mission hub; YOU finally are the rare fellow who explains doing this IN THE FIELD -- Yay and THANK you!!! My question is, after saying to go into "F" mode, at about 3:15 you say to "go over to your mission and hit start." Where do you "go over to your mission and hit start" -- what button is the mission button? DUMB QUESTION, yes, but I just don't see the mission button that gets you to START and do not want to mess up tomorrow, trying this for the first time. The other question is about when you are supposed switch over to F -- on the ground or in the sky -- but I'll figure that out.
Thanks for taking the time to create this video. It was very easy to follow and I didn't waste a lot of time watching opening credits or people begging for your help, Paypal, subscriptions etc. I liked it and don't need to be reminded to like and subscribe. Your work sells itself and I will make sure to check out your other work! PS, Love the Star Wars shirt!
My favorite Litchi function is the Pano photos. I ti s great for real estate work and after stitching with a program like Panorama Stitcher it comes out really great. Now I am trying to find the best way to shoot an orbit at 100 feet high and 100 feet back with each picture with a 50% overlap.
Did you have any conflicts with your RC after installing Litchi? I have a P3A and completely stopped - eventually even uninstalled - DJI Go as recommended by many, as well as removing defaults and all of that before installing and opening Litchi. Nevertheless, my Litchi app showed "DISCONNECTED" and so did reversion to DJI Go! This caused the replacement of my controller's USB port module (contacts were fine - must have been one of the tiny black boxes on the board) - Not Cheap. It COULD have been an amazing coincidence with the Litchi installation, but after 1-1/2 years of flawless operation? Long story short, I'm back to getting things right and using only DJI Go again. I REALLY want to try Litchi again for obvious feature reasons, but cannot afford more problems. Have you ever heard of or experienced such conflicts? THANKS for the excellent video!
Very well done video. I think you can also still control the radius, height, and speed manually if you use your controller while in this mode. Example... lets say you want to speed up or slow down at a certain point in the shot.... right stick up = faster, right stick down = slower.... and so on. At least this works on DJI go... should apply here too.
In the air I select a POI pressing the C2 button. Then I move the quad to a position I like to start the orbit. How can I define the radius from the present drone position to the POI? I mean Litchi takes quad position to get the radius instead of manually changing it from settings until the circle matches the arrow/quad in the air. POI settings shows a default Litchi radius. Thanks.
Great tutorial mate, in the first 3 minutes you answered what I have been looking for the last three hours... can you save a POI? !!! and yes you can... now.. two questions if you would be so kind.... the gimbal settings was manual, if you had it in AUTO would it record the angle you had it on for replay in that same angle every time? Also is there anywhere to put in an actual GPS location? I am building a house starting next month and wanted to do progress shots each week until its done, but I want the exact same POI every time i fly it. Help please :-)
I think the gimbal settings have to be done when on the location but once you set it up it's all done. GPS location, well what you can do is just set up your mission from home on your tablet or mobile then create the radius and save. That's all GPS because you're using google maps. Sounds great and hope your vids are awesome.
Is there a way to save the center of an orbit? We are going to building and I want to fly around the building everyday then edit so it looks like it's going up as we fly around. How do I make sure the center is the same location everytime?
Waypoint is my FAVE, Coz it takes a lot of worries away, when it flys autonomously, just press Play! its so easy I love LITCHI; I agree it beats DJI by a long way...
I am new to the Litchi app. I downloaded the Litchi fr the Phantom 2 vision Plus app. will this work on the Phantom 2. I have the right switch setup as: up=GPS, the center= ATTI, down=FAILSAFE.
On orbit I actually prefer DJI's method where you fly over the POI , then fly out to where you want it to orbit from. Because as you showed, when you looked up at the horizon, you LOST your POI... because you had no idea how far out to go. So with Litchi it's way more trial and error to get the shot you want and some math to figure out how far to go out.
I done exactly what youve said in setup and the drone stays static and does not budge an inch very defiant does it move to the circle automatic or do i have to give it a helping hand? I set radius / height / speed / flick the switch on the controller but all it does is hover even after i press start guessing litchi doesnt want to work for this mode
the fpv setting on my shitty huwawai phone its propper good through a 6 quid vr set......i would go so far as to say that its on par with my fat shark v2 s as far as colour and clarity goes.....only the dodgy field of view shape in the vr goggles that lets it down...anyhow cheers dude for the video tidbits
Jason Cole The equivalent toggle switch for the P4 is on the left corner, with the P-A-F options. P is GPS positioning, A Attitude, and F is Function mode which is the one you're asking about. F has to be set to run Intelligent Flight modes, or in your case the Litchi Radius mode. You regain control by toggling back to P. The middle setting A disables the GPS and Vision system, and is the setting also used for Sport mode.
LOve your tuto i have the new version letchi app 1.15.9 and need help with waypoint (mission) .I want to film a golf course, each alle from tee to green. can you help me ,thank's
You know maybe I should make a facebook group for all of us who have questions. Could be a great way to help each other. Best way to contact me is through facebook. Just look for my name and in Japan.
Nice man, very nice. No BS, no three minute intro with dancing astronauts, etc. You covered this very well. Can't wait to try this feature out.
Rock it out man! Thanks for your comments...

I've only tried two modes. What I have seen so far is mind blowing. Great video.

I think it depends on what you use it for. The tracking stuff is not very reliable but waypoint and POI is bang on perfect for me.

Great video, you're an easy to follow & fun teacher,
- keep yer rotors on Top..
Waypoints is my favorite, but i will check out your video on understanding heights.

Thanks for that and telling us this info. I'll check next time I fly or maybe can chime in on this.
Nick great video like your style

How did you get the Lat/Long above the flight info? Mine is all on one and the video box blocks it.
this APP work with Inspire 1v2 ?
Can the camera mode be changed from video to photo, say to capture pictures every 45 degrees? Can Orbit be paused, and restarted.
how do you save specific gimbal angles into your mission so you can refly them exactly?
Getting it to work after the last update.
Can you increase/decrease while on a lichi poi mission ?
My favorite is waypoint. But i just dont understand, there are instances that litchi app crashes. Also, sometimes video feed freezes.
On orbit I actually prefer DJI's method where you fly over the POI , then fly out to where you want it to orbit from. Great!
When you say mission, do you mean the disk or the folder icon?
Excellent!
Can you do a way mission with an orbit in between the mission please
HOW do you do this with my PHANTOM 4ADVANCED?I don't have an F
I done exactly what youve said in setup and the drone stays static and does not budge an inch very defiant
does it move to the circle automatic or do i have to give it a helping hand?
I set radius / height / speed / flick the switch on the controller but all it does is hover even after i press start
guessing litchi doesnt want to work for this mode
Camera Phill put both the inwards and get off the ground, then start the mission. Good luck

in litchi, can you adjust the altitude and radius of the orbit during the mission?
yes
Is there a good youtube video that gets more in depth with this type of instruction?
thanks man why litchi apps tell me allows cannot start orbit reason the execution could not be executed
I guess for me where the confusion comes is that I have a P4 Pro, I don't have that F1 switch? What would the difference be with a P4PRO?
Sorry I don't know since I don't own the P4P, in the works and want drone so bad!! just play around with it on your table and you'll figure it out!!
When you say "go over to your mission and his start", where is that? I cant see it on your tutorial?
once you put the F1 switch down you can select POI and load your mission. From there you'll see a bit START button the bottom. Hope that helps.
Yes but thats my point, i have a p4Pro, there is no F1 switch on the controller.
LOve your tuto i have the new version letchi app 1.15.9 and need help with waypoint (mission) .I want to film a golf course, each alle from tee to green. can you help me ,thank's
