I needed this level of positivity this morning. I think my favorite part of your videos is that you show us the specific things in your bujo, instead of empty or "filler" setups so we can see how things function on a real person. See you next time!

For those who don't want to write all the dates, here is the tip - just don't do it. I simply divide the page, write month name, and then underneath i list all the relevant dates. They don't even have to be in order, I'll sort them out when setting up a month ahead :)

I debated on if i needed the calendar in there but I realized I wanted/needed to see the actual days things fell on after i screwed myself over once or twice lol.

😊Thanks for the shout out! When you were talking about refocusing your goals every quarter, I was reminded of “The 12 Week Year.” Have you read that? You actually treat each quarter like its own year. Smaller goals. Shorter timelines.

    • @SimieIriarte
      @SimieIriarte  7 місяців тому +6

I haven't! But I've heard of it and thought of giving it a go to see what else I could try. but I definitely treat each quarter like it's own year. It's easier to not lose sight of why I'm doing what i'm going and I have more urgency lol

Love this system! Especially "you are the asset". I am not crisp in the morning so I shovel sand first thing, stuff that needs less brain power. I build my sand castles later on when my brain will actually brain.

this was exactly what i neeeded. i love your 10x/2x way of splitting tasks. genius. and i love the simple quarterly. i also like your approach to pick your day's tasks from the 10x/2x list depending on your energy level. plus wins to fight toxic productivity. this is the exact balance of overachieving and too hard on myself that im trying to fight.

Really helpful stuff. Just curious, where does "10x" and "2x" come from? I have similar lists labeled "Project Tasks" and "Admin" but just wondering why you call it that?

I enjoy doing monthly goals. They might repeat. But in the end, they help towards the overall long term goal.

So, my bullet journal is from the dollar store, I'm using pens, fine liners, markers and washi tape to make it pretty, but not over the top or time consuming. Thank you for sharing your story. I also quit my job as a pharmacist technician 3 years ago to take care of my mental and physical health and to pursue life as an artist and creative person. I think your system of distilling your values to determine your goals will be really helpful. I'm taking the first baby steps of doing the tasks of daily living with consistency before I tackle big things like where I want to be in 5 years and will I start a YT channel. Thanks for your inspiration and good luck on your journey.

Ah your timeblocking system might have saved me! As a remote worker, I need some kind of guide like this but all the time blocking videos and tips I've seen are way too rigid or require too much upkeep. Also, I love Essentialism and have had my personal slogan as "you are the asset" for years! It's so true. You can't do anything if you're tired or worn down.

You’re one my favourite bujo youtubers and that’s why I couldn’t not subscribe to your channel. So many useful content and so entertaining also.
And you kinda remind me of my favourite cousin with whom I was bffs in childhood. 😂
    Lots of love ❤❤❤

Simie, thank you so much for your content! I lurvveeee it! And now that I know you read emails, I’ll be finishing up that draft I have for you, lol.
I’ve been applying your bujo strategies and I can say confidently that my days are more productive and enjoyable in general.
The problem is; it all just feels sorta … idk, pointless? That’s because I don’t know what I want. I’ve watched countless goal setting videos (yours included) but I still don’t know what I want.
It’s like I want everything yet nothing at all. I guess I need clarity as I’m getting older (23) so if you have any ideas on how to dial down on what exactly it is you want (could be a video, since you seem to have a general idea of the direction you want your life to take), I’d love to hear them!
Thanks again and have a great day!

My gut reaction to this is that you should just make it a goal to explore new things! If I didn't try something new, such as agreeing to hike in the mountains for the first time ever - this youtube channel wouldn't exist. strange connection right? Never would've known. Hope that helps!

This is so helpful! I like that all of these parts are connected together hence, creating a system. I am following a "12 week year" concept to achieve my goals which is very similar to the quarterly year goals.

2 Questions! So, section 3, Monthly, 1. What really is the difference between "Thoughts" and "Reminders"? They seem like the same thing? And 2. Do the answers to the "Reflections" section get done at the start of the month and all relate to the precious month? Or do they get answered at the end of the month for that month?

How does the creator prioritize tasks?
The creator prioritizes tasks using a four-square setup in their monthly task prioritization spread. The squares are labeled "10x" (tasks that will generate the most meaningful progress towards goals), "2x" (adulting or maintenance tasks), "Urgent" (tasks with deadlines or immediate consequences), and "Not Urgent" (tasks that can be delayed without significant impact).

So around 11:15 you're saying the task list at the top has some repetition on the timed schedule? Items crossed off in the task list indicate they were taken care of during the day's schedule. Then you cross off the schedule anything that didn't happen. Meaning whatever is left at the task list up top is still pending action. In your example the computer keyboard cleaning didn't get done and is pending a reschedule. Right? Great vid, as usual.

How do you plan how many pages you need to save for a specific section? Example would be your brain dump, free pages, monthlies etc. I’m just starting out so I wonder how many pages to plan ahead for.
