Regarding the not killing Ajani with Skoa. I bet they thought you would use your spawn gang commander to shock one of your cats to flip ajani in response. That's what I would've done.
It was milled with Coram's ability so they would either need to have white mana sources themselves or mill a source from Kenji's deck later to then play it.
@@lngun great catch! So then the opponent definitely wouldn't have been able cast the dog umbra that was milled that turn. I guess with Coram, you hope to swipe opponent's lands to be able to cast future things milled.
Dang, love watching you play and that was a fun deck! I made 4 attempts and had probably the worst sealed pulls I’ve ever had, zero good rares or 7+ drops with the exception of one kozelect that I didn’t have the ability to play, and no good 2 drops, and zero synergies every time. For reference, I regularly reach mythic playing limited every season.
Game 1, turn 3 I think the play is to attack with the token cat and surfer, then after combat you play Discharge on the cat, flip Ajani, then 0 Ajani, dealing 2 to the Dryad. You do less damge, but flipped Ajani + a red permanent on an empty board is so hard to lose from. You can play it safe and do it before combat to make sure you keep your red creature. I had a deck today where i used a lot of discharges (or phlage) to kill my cat token, then kill their thing anyway with the 0 ability.
I haven’t done an open since Wynonna was the card to beat I was playing the aristocrat cat food deck with a companion, Curious how many times it took people to qualify for this or how many resources you spent in not qualifying?
Man, you had Path of Annihilation, Dryad, Snapping Voidcraw, Chrys, and Springheart Nantuko to get extra copies of a ramper...I would've easily went 'Drazi. Emrakul looked pretty castable to me. I see the warrant for wanting to go aggro though, and I never doubt your judgement because you're the limited master. Just saying, though. ❤
honestly my first instinct here was to go rw and maybe splash green for chrysalis his landscapes didn't support that plan, but the gw dual does help whenever I look at a sealed pool I generally just listen to my instincts
@@celeste-y9x Yeah, he didn't quite have enough playables for a great Eldrazi deck but I still think it could've been good. But like I said, who am I to judge the limited king. Especially when he got there in just two tries this time, which by the way, congrats on that Kenji. 👍
@@celeste-y9x ya, I was looking at red white splash green. Both Chris and that Nantuko become disgusting with Dog Umbra protection, so could afford to play all the removal knowing Dog Umbra will always be good.
Chrysalis, snapclaw, dryad, nantuko, Emracool and path ? I’m sure white what’s the best color but I would’ve had a second deck eldrazi on standby just in case.

I've already said it, but i'am gonna say it again, played in as sealed is a very poor and frustrating experience, like you said it doesn't showcase your ability much, today i oppened 3 fetch again, and my list was mid at best. It's totally luck based, and not everyone is at the same level : in a very anticipated and competitive event I just don't get why they keep implementing those event, i personally hate it, i'd much ratherl ike it if they went for draft/constructed every time, and just forgot that bs altogether

15:57 Ajani is a "may" ability, so killing the skyclaw wouldn't actually kill ajani as well
Ajani angry for revenge being like “mmm yea I may do something about that”

@@marcopolo1020 Can't cast the dog umbra on later turns. Coram specifically says this turn.

Sweet deck, great gameplay and decisions. You beat some nice decks too. Congrats, thanks for the awesome content.

Give Kenji decent RW aggro with that Sundering Eruption and he's gonna find a way to get it done! Well played.
Cutting essence reliquary is insane. It's worth splashing for, let alone when you're already playing white.
Sundering Eruption targeting your own land to trigger Reckless Pyrosurfer is 🔥

When I saw you open the 2 white rares I knew this deck would be fast and scary

Wouldn’t strength of the harvest be a good cut for just plains with all the tap lands in an aggro deck?
Hey Kenji, I know you like to run 2:1 ratio for land dfc but try running closer to 1:1 for aggro decks (i.e. 17 total for both dfc and normal lands).
People don't know this, but in Spanish eldrazi means 'the drazi'.

his landscapes didn't support that plan, but the gw dual does help whenever I look at a sealed pool I generally just listen to my instincts
there's also enough playables and a low enough curve that chrysalis might not even be quite as good as it is in the more topend oriented decks

I was thinking this to at the beginning I thought he made the right choice but I was surprised he didn't even look at it in the deck building.
Good job my guy
its real easy to get unplayable sealed pools in this set, this was a really good pool
I only gave it one shot, but I also opened an Emerkul! And 3 snapping turtles, so I had to go for it, and never managed to cast her.

It’d have snap played eldrazi with that pool 😅. But the white deck did look good in action
