    Your American Original has a 9.5 radius fingerboard and these have 7.25 with vintage tall frets.

    I saw the same guitar,except in a creamy white color at Southpaw Guitars and it has been haunting me since! I’m going to have to go there and try it out. Great job Shane!😎😎😎🎸🎸🎸🎸

    I put a set of the Pure Vintage '57 Pickups in a Japanese made 1958 Strat and it sounds amazing. I highly reccomend them and they are quite affordable compared to other boutique brands.

    Would love to hear the 61! You're my GOTO, as a lefty... your reviews matter most. Hopefully Jerry's is back up and running soon and you can do some more demos with some fresh guitars. He's in my neck of the woods now, so hoping to get an in person visit there. Thanks!

    That skull with lights is so dope its really getting me freaked out. That is some really nice sliding into so riffages as a whole and notes as an element. Dope jam up.

    Very nice demonstration, did you notice a big difference in the 7.25 radius compared to your other Strat ?

    Great looking and sounding Strat! Delish! I've never played a guitar with that neck profile. Don't need this one tho, I have a Seafoam green with rosewood board, alder body LH. Stole it for about $220 USD, only thing I changed was pups to 3 hot rails, it's killer 😈. Great review Shane

    Nice review Shane. I'm on the fence myself. Not sure what I'll end up with at the moment. I like the color and I don't mind a 7.25" radius. Enjoyed your putting it through it's paces. Sounds good.

    I have this exact model and color. I took your advice on your video about your white Strat and how if you have the extra $$$ just get the higher end fender over the pro ii or performer Strat. You were so right. Got sick of budget guitars and fooling around with them and said f it and spend the extra $$$ it’s so worth it. Love it!

    Shane: have you ever had a Strat or Telecaster that you had the high E string saddle screws keep coming loose or unscrewing? I had this keep happening on
    my Squier Tele, finally my local Guitar Center did a setup and all that, and still hadn't fixed this, so I had to bring it back in this week and bring some Loctite thread
    cement (!) since they were out of some, for the tech. to apply it to one screw on the high E string saddle screw, and now it appears to be fixed, thus far. It was
    driving me mad for a long time. The good thing is now I know how to do it myself. This was only happening on the high E saddle, no others.

    I was interested in buying the sunburst with maple board. But they took forever to get here. I ended up buying the Japanese version for more than half the price. Now that they have arrived in Australia, I'm reluctant to go and try one.

    I've got an America Pure Vintage 59 Stratocaster. It's an exceptional guitar.
    But whatever I do, I just can't bond with the 7.25 radius.
    It's play great, low action, no choke with bends, the hand slides on the neck like no other guitar I have.
    It's also quite chunky..
    But that 7.25 has a feel, and even a sound.. I'm sure of that. The notes are snappier with a short decay, and very light sustain.. it does have a singing quality.. but I don't like it.. I cannot put the words why.
    So, I've thought, sell the guitar ? No way.. so it will forever be mine.. I've decided I'm gonna ask my luthier to shave the neck, and redo the fretboard to 10 inch radius..
    Some might, that's stupid to modify a perfect reincarnation of a 59 Stratocaster 😮.
    Well, you know what, what made me make up my mind is an interview of Jeff Beck I read today. I want to share this for you :
    He said " I don't like that fat neck on my Signature Stratocaster, it's just too fat. Fender just wanted to redo a 50's spec .. and didn't want to carve it to my personnal preference, medium C shape"
    " there's no point for a kid with small hands to fight that neck.. so find your guitar guy to just shave down that thing.."😅
    That just made me feel good to just do it.
    For your knowledge Jeff Beck keeps swaping necks on his guitars, whatever the year, or vintage models.. what's important is for you to bond with the guitar, not to get stuck with an instrument you fight with..
    The guy was an engineer, and for me the best electric guitarist on earth, and the ultimate Stratocaster wizard
    So I just follow his advice and will butcher that 59 neck 😅

    I just don't care for the thick poly coating. I mean Fender cakes it on for these $1200+ guitars. I could live with it on the old MIM Standards at $499. It sounds good though and I assume it had a nice neck profile?

    • @jordanpratt3821
      @jordanpratt3821 5 місяців тому

      These are nitro, but they do apparently have a poly "undercoat". Couldn't tell you why they do that. Maybe someone in the trusty comment section will know??

    • @rodolpheponthus2948
      @rodolpheponthus2948 4 місяці тому

      @@jordanpratt3821it's my inderstanding that Fender has been putting a poly finish under the nitro for ages
      I read that somewhere, and it seemed coming from very knowledgeable people.
      The full nitro coating wasn't done for a long time

  • @RickFoxx777
    @RickFoxx777 4 місяці тому

    Love your videos. these are nice to look at but...with a 7.5 radius it is unplayable by most pro's standards.
    I just don't get Fender these days. They either use crappy wood and great necks or visa versa.
    IMO, if you are going to use a 7.5 radius for a neck at least make it a compound radius to 9.5 or 10.
    Sadly for me, in the last three years or so there has not been one single guitar with a decent radius, Soft V or Mid sixties C neck and alder or ash body in the 1k to 2k category. There has only been one guitar I even considered buying (Fender American Original '50s or 60's Stratocaster) but at $2500.00 new (when it first came out) it was, IMO too costly for what it was. Just my 2 cents worth. Peace.
