I just played one in GC. I really like the neck on these. It wasn’t too sticky as some have reported elsewhere.

The one I played had the highest action and stickiest neck I've EVER played in a shop, I reckon you were lucky. These new Fender's seem to be as bad as Gibson's quality control used to be but for some reason does not get the same flack.

@@theoryofthrashyeah, I’ve played others that weren’t good, particularly the 61.

I just bought one recently. I haven't had any tuning issues, but I haven't had the trem arm on it until I watched this vid. I played around with it and it did go a little out of tune. I like the thick neck and the 7.25 thing is hardly noticeable to me. The smaller frets do take a little getting used to. I'll put slightly larger frets on it when these wear out, but this makes me play with a lighter touch which is probably a good thing.
The neck is a little sticky, but doesn't bother me. My Gibsons are much worse.
I loved the pups on the reviews which is why I bought it. When I got it, I was a little disappointed. With the knobs dimed, it sounded pretty thin and tinny. I dialed back the tone knobs a hair and the pups came to life. First guitar I've experienced that on.
Anyway, for the clean chord arpeggiation stuff I bought it to play, it's fantastic. I'll save the bendy songs for the Tele with the bigger frets and satin neck.

I think the tuning problems only have to do with the fact that someone obviously didn’t put on the strings properly.
I have seven Strats and they all work well. Just set them up correctly.

Nice playing. Would be interesting if you ever get your hands on the Ash bodied version of this guitar to see if there is any difference. An easy drop in modification is to replace the stock tuners with Gotoh SD91-MG Nickel finish vintage locking tuners (Gear ratio 1:15, Button 05M) - available in lefty and righty. Those tuners, together with a properly cut and lubricated nut, and the tremolo set up to be not too far above the body or even blocked, keep the string tuning stable - especially if you swap out the Fender strings for a more high quality premium brand. I find the Vintage series prefer a slightly heavier gauge string set whereas the Professional, Player, Ultra play better with a slightly lighter gauge. However, string guage is personal preference.

Thank you, review on the 1973 Ash body Strat coming soon! Thanks for watching. I didn't experience tuning instability on any others in the series, strange. Good suggestions all around

The weirdest thing happened last year, I had some money that I wanted to spend, and for the first time realized I don’t need any guitar gear, no amps ,no pedals, I have five guitars, they’re all great, including a 1964 fender esquire , and I don’t mean a re-issue, I just have everything. I finally have everything , other than strings, which I actually have enough for a couple of years, and I have a lifetime supply of pics, I am so set ! I have an amazing Rig and I am done, but that’s just me

I really wish they had made a '57 hard tail option. 😢

I just received this strat, are you sure this is 7.25" radius. I have other guitars with 7.25" radius, this one is definitely not, at best 9.5" I would say.

Hi thanks, it's definitely 7.25" - maybe taller frets than your others? That can have some effect of offsetting the more pronounced radius

Nice guitar BUT for $2000 I would get a G&L FULLERTON ASAT CLASSIC. It's a much better built guitar than fender ‼️

A lovely guitar to be sure although they don’t hold their value as much as a Fender. However, if you plan on keeping it then the G&L is a great choice (as is the Xotic brand).
