What I take from this is , democracy is the only thing that rivals god in terms of power over the earth.
Fact, during the bombing of Tokyo by the B-29 Superfortress, Using Napalm bombs, it was recorded as an attack with the most fatal & brutal damage compared to an atomic bomb attack.
For a Country whose air forces had clobbered American, British, Chinese, and Dutch Air forces in the early war. They seem to lack Air Defense capabilities in their home islands.

Just imagine being a Japanese civilian looking up at the night sky and seeing that, hearing the low drone of hundreds of B-29s 30,000 ft above you, all the while knowing that nothing is able to stop them, your country's air force completely obliterated and anti-aircraft guns nonexistent. All you can do is sit there and pray to God a bomb doesn't hit your house and burn you alive.

Fun fact, you can easily make your own "napalm" by dissolving polystyrene (aka styrofoam) foam in petrol (Gasoline for the 'muricans). (some say to add soap.. but no need it works without it)
The white foam packing from whitegoods and appliances and cheap coolers is normally polystyrene, just break it into smaller pieces and dissolve until you get the nice sticky consistency you desire.
Added bonus is that what you don't burn will probably die from the toxic fumes burning polystyrene at low temps produces.
Not that I recommend you make it or use it... of course.

My mum is Vietnamese and her dad fought in Vietnam as a young boy in the NVA as a tank commander. He was hit by napalm on his tank and his tank was still driving
It’s not anti armour it just cooks everything so the tank wouldn’t go down the crew would cook tho

here in brazil we used t6 texan and intruders to drop napalm on some comunist guerrilas in the 60's
WW2 was truly the worst thing to ever happen to the enemies of America. If we hadn't gotten involved in that, we might've stayed relatively isolationist. Instead, we realized we could kinda just crush anybody we wanted with sheer power of industry and the rest is history. We only lost wars when we got bored and left, and it's been over a century before an enemy soldier managed to set foot on our soil.
From what I understand, USA will have to go to war against Nazi Germany eventually to protect their own interests in Europe. But Pearl Harbor gave USA a very personal reason to join the war, and boy do they go hard with it.
Also a correction, the Japanese did land and occupy some parts of the Aleutian Islands, Alaska, but they failed to do anything more than that, and eventually left about a year later.

@@iffracem Korea was basically a draw against North Korea and China and we left after saving south Korea’s ass.
In Vietnam we were only defending south Vietnam meaning the south Vietnamese were supposed to attack into north Vietnam. We left because people got bored and disliked the war.

We were *never* isolationist. We were working with the Yakuza to put them in power over Japan. The Cartel and illegal migrants are literally invading us. We also got our asses kicked on the battlefield in WW2. We won because the Yakuza was on our side and the Japanese mismanaged their effort in Manchuria. WW2 isn't the worst thing to happen to Germany by the way. The 30 Years War makes WW2 look like Disney land. We also got our shit kicked in by China in the Korean War.

Hitler also held back the Luftwaffe because he viewed Britain as being under a criminal occupation. Had Hitler died in 1942, someone like Goebbels or Goering would've been in charge and they would've completely flattened London.
