Lost Tracks: Memphis International Raceway

Memphis International Raceway opened in 1987. The facility hosted the NHRA Mid-South Nationals, IHRA Nitro Jam, NASCAR Xfinity Series, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, ARCA Menards Series and the NASCAR K&N Pro East Series; now known as the ARCA Menards East Series. Sadly, this facility shutdown in 2022 and as I far I know the facility sits abandoned. Thanks for watching the history of this facility.

Glad we still have Richmond Raceway and Iowa Speedway. Tracks that are similar in size and shape.

Memphis was a decent facility but that whole county/area of Tennessee is just a total crap hole. NASCAR never drew much of a crowd or big sponsorship dollars even during its heyday. But I’d rather see the place revitalized than be bulldozed.
