They did an amazing job on this film. I absolutely loved it. The connection to the lore, the old film and the fans is so obvious and perfect for people who already enjoyed the Ghostbusters universe, but not even slightly intrusive for people who haven't seen any of it before. An absolute masterpiece.
SO many moments had me just smiling ear to ear lol. They even fit the "Who you gonna call" line in lol. I think we all needed that final goodbye from Harold too.
The service to the fans made this movie an instant classic. I can’t even think about certain scenes without getting choked up. I can’t wait to see it again. And again. And again.
Seen Afterlife twice already, seeing it once more before the weekend. Thank you Jason Reitman and everyone involved for bringing us a true Ghostbusters sequel.
Jason is the right man to have made this fabulous movie and how absolutely fantastic that he gets how brilliant 'our Adam' is and that Jason cares about the fans...the makers...thanks to Adam and others i have built my own replica props that are so much more special and familiar now that our own hands made them.
Great film! Amazing cast, fun cinematography, wonderful blend of old and new storyline. Thank you for reminding us about how timeless the Ghostbusters franchise truly is! This film not only confirms but preserves the classic and entertaining Ghostbusters films. Definitely a MUST see!
"... we have to make a movie that makes them happy". That is the perfect definition of fan respect and what real fan service MUST do. We are the ones buying tickets, merch, and copies. We are the ones that need the product. The company simply puts things together so that the "Fan Service" is done in a way that doesn't feel artificial or mocked. Thank you, Adam, for this amazing episode!
I am SO thankful for what Jason has done with Afterlife and now with Frozen Empire with Gil. Thank you all for the care you are taking with this franchise.
I really enjoyed how Adam conducted this interview and the editing was great, kept my attention the entire time. I’d love to see Adam do more of this type of interview!
So cool to be able to honor your fathers Legacy with this movie. I tear up when I drive my fathers truck and sing the song for my father, but I lost my father years ago. This must be emotional to do for sure just because of the legacy!
Mckenna and Finn talked about some deleted scenes in a video that's out there. Also, that chip bag popping in the trailer wasn't in the movie, was it? Every GB movie has had lots of deleted scenes. But it will be interesting to see if Jason decides to use them to make an extended cut or just put them in a deleted scenes section.
you know its good when after watching it, all you want is to cross paths with the people behind it, give them a hug and say a deep and meaningful "thank you".
This was beyond perfect. This movie oozes with respect, it's incredible how it shows in the final product, I loved it (and I really wasn't a fan of the original idea of it becoming a kids movie, but the cast was stellar and convinced me 10 minutes in). Thanks Adam for this very special look behind the scenes.
watched the '84 version so much. it was a treat to actually see it re-released to theatres a while back ago. its amazing how much subtlety there is in the film that you dont see on a t.v. screen.
I think this is the best tested video I have ever seen (and that is saying a lot) a chance to sit friend to friend and talk about this great movie and how it came to be.. I am just wetting my pants with anticipation.. and at 70 that alone says a lot! I haven't been to a movie theater in over 10 years.. Carry on son.. and thanks ever so much for your sharing all you share..
I saw Afterlife yesterday 11-22-21 and it fulfils what I love about the franchise. Loved it in every way. Thanks Jason and Adam. Oh and I am months in to the Eco 1 build.
There is just something that feels like home when Venkman says “ON THE COUNT OF 3, GO ON 2, 1, TWO!!” First time seeing it, I immediately felt that was straight from Bill Murray’s brain. Love it so much!!!!
Thank you very much Jason and Ivan ... Amazing movie ... I've seen the movie 3 times and I think I'll see it a fourth time. The love with which they made this movie is incredible
Why no thanks to Dan? He wrote the original story based on his grandfather's belief in the supernatural and the occult and Ramis for making the story cohesive.
The essence of the finale ghostbusting climax special Fx was dominated and almost rendered insignificant just by the emotional presence of Harold as it converged into both the reel & real world in the minds of the captivated audience. His not talking and only showing facial expressions also added the emotional outburst. Gr8 to see all (4) of them virtually reunited after all these decades. This may well be the final time we'll ever see our heroes together. It's T.R.O. - Time Running Out for everyone, no question. Thank you for this epic scene which may never happen again.
This was the best featurette I've watched since The Making of Star Wars when I was a kid. Jason goes from being a fresh mouthed kid in Ghostbusters II to being this amazing filmmaker and storyteller. LOVED Ghostbusters : Afterlife...as did my entire family. My 10 year old daughter was thrilled with it, she's artistic and I believe she has eyes on working in the film industry one day. I did too when I was her age, but the film industry in Toronto hadn't sparked yet, and I had high school councilors that dissuaded me at every turn. But my daughter won't have that problem. I encourage her to follow her dreams no matter what anyone says. Perhaps she'll work on a Jason Reitman film some day!
This is waaaay too personal of a comment for UA-cam, but I teared up a bit at the end of Afterlife and teared up a little at the end of this interview when Jason was describing how important it was to have you involved and how the Ghostebusters where makers like you! Everything was amazing in this film, and I loved it from start to finish. You did an excellent job, Jason! I especially loved the car chase scene and the "Who Brought The Dog" score fit perfectly in it.
Saw Ghostbusters: Afterlife last night, can not recommend it enough. I love seeing Adam geeking out with Jason and really having a good conversation about it.

I absolutely loved the way they were able to incorporate Egon in the story. Very appropriate and very moving
I really enjoyed how Adam conducted this interview and the editing was great, kept my attention the entire time. I’d love to see Adam do more of this type of interview!
Very nearly gave up on big-budget Hollywood films entirely until I saw this last weekend. Thank you, Jason and crew! Faith restored!
So cool to be able to honor your fathers Legacy with this movie. I tear up when I drive my fathers truck and sing the song for my father, but I lost my father years ago. This must be emotional to do for sure just because of the legacy!
It feels like there were a lot of cut scenes, I hope we'll get a extended/director's cut come next year.
I'm so glad the legacy was restored from that last outing. There so much emotional connection fans have to the original thank you for Afterlife.
What a freaking honor to be a part of this
I love that this is an actual physical place.
you know its good when after watching it, all you want is to cross paths with the people behind it, give them a hug and say a deep and meaningful "thank you".
I love seeing the level of care and reverence all involved with the film have. Wish all the best for Savage, Reitman, cast and crew!
The sound itself in "Ghost Busters Afterlife" was fantastic. Can't wait for the movie release...!!
What Jason says at the end ... What an absolute tribute to you , left me smiling :-)
Ah man! Big hugs for everyone involved in Ghostbusters Afterlife and Adam! Very cool that he was apart of it. And Ghostbusters Co!
I honestly got a little teary at the end when Jason was telling Adam what a ghostbuster is and that they are everything Adam is. So sweet
This video (and of course the movie) made my heart so full. Thank you Adam, thank you Tested, thank you Jason.
To be in the room with these 2 would have been a dream for myself as not only a filmmaker but also a Ghostbusters fan.
Afterlife absolutely needs and deserves a sequel from this team. Thank you 🙏🏆🍿
watched the '84 version so much. it was a treat to actually see it re-released to theatres a while back ago. its amazing how much subtlety there is in the film that you dont see on a t.v.
Thanks for providing the next needed chapter of Ghostbusters. I loved it.
@@andrewft31 Of course, Dan too, mastermind. You're right ... Thanks for Afterlife
Watched it twice and the end made me cry both times ! This truly is something stranger and special
When they do another Ghostbusters, they should cast Adam as the rookie from the game who comes back to help them.
PLEEEAAASSSEEEEE
This is waaaay too personal of a comment for UA-cam, but I teared up a bit at the end of Afterlife and teared up a little at the end of this interview when Jason was describing how important it was to have you involved and how the Ghostebusters where makers like you! Really good stuff! (when are you selling death whistle casts)
Huge spoiler in your first sentence. Please edit so you don’t ruin it for anyone. Thanks.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife is a wonderful theater experience … what a way to capture & re capture some movie magic … this fan immersive behind the scenes and inclusive marketing approach was outstanding … makes watching & rewatching the movie more rewarding … well done!
This was a de-freaking-light! More excited than ever to see the movie, and dang I could watch Adam talking shop with directors, vfx pros etc till the cows come home ^^
Also holy cannoli if that first screening beta tape is ever made available to the public how amazing would that be to watch 0_o
Amazing! thanks for sharing this wonderful conversation with us!
I've told my friends that haven't watched it that it's all heart with a dash of comedy.
I could listen to those two talk about this sort of stuff for hours 🥰. It's such a rarity to see souch passion for something when it comes to Hollywood movies nowadays. You can tell how much it means to both of them.
Everything was amazing in this film, and I loved it from start to finish. You did an excellent job, Jason! I especially loved the car chase scene and the "Who Brought The Dog" score fit perfectly in it.
Jason Reitman is now my favorite contemporary filmmaker. He absolutely nailed it.
Saw Ghostbusters: Afterlife last night, can not recommend it enough. I love seeing Adam geeking out with Jason and really having a good conversation about it.
this was a wonderful heartfelt movie, its been a while since a movie teared me up...what a great interview here too, thanks Adam.
It's funny. From time to time, I find myself asking, "Could you love Adam Savage any more?" Then I see something like this. "Yep. A hundred percent, yep."
Adam, you have to be the best host of an interview I have ever seen and of course an integral part of the films creation.. This is a truly great interview in every way. As Fun , educational, and informative , as the iconic films you were discussing / honoring.
Totally awesome interview and Jason was just so exceptional in everything, and truly thankful to the both of you and can't wait to see it on the BIG Screen.
Very excited to see it. Been a Ghostbusters fan for over 30 years, and it's going to be great to dive back into that world.
Incredible interview. Thank you Adam!
Grace McKenna stole every scene she was in. Thank you Jason. You made your dad, the fans, and Harold Ramis proud. Thank you. The movie was amazing. I’m 46. I loved it.
He is such a likeable dude. And over all what I like about this interview most that he lets people end their questions.
GB Afterlife was EPIC!! UNbelievably amazing and so worthy for the franchise! LOVED IT as much as the first 2.
