I was very wandering, when I knew that Fabio sing clen vocals and harsh vocals :D :D :D When I heard that song at the first time, I thought that Rhapsody of Fire had some death/black metal vocalist like guest :D
"Hold on, before my head explodes..." No! This is power metal! There is no, "hold on".
Rhapsody of Fire just doesn't get enough love. Each album is a continuation of a Fantasy Saga they created. They made me a metal head back in the early 2000's. It's a long song, but Erian's Mystical Rhymes might just be their most epic song of all time if it isn't Mystic Prophecy of the Demon Knight.
Rhapsody is more...they aren't just "power metal". Neoclassic metal/symphonic metal/rock opera/power metal/folk and many other subgenres. As Joey Demaio said: "They are unique band and their genre is film score metal" (c).

SETUM, yes!!! Neoclassical symphonic power metal is literally one of my most favorite genres of all time! Especially with operatic vocals. I don't care how cheesy it can get, I eat that shit up!

At this point, a song by Rhapsody of Fire isn't as much a song or even a performance. They reached the point of near ritual magic. That how powerful their music has become.
This is probably one of their hardest songs to digest.
Try to react to some of their older stuff from back when they were just called "Rhapsody" and were backed by a full symphonic orchestra. Both of the "Symphony of Enchanted Lands" albums as well as Dawn Of Victory are among the most over-the-top epic things ever produced.
Symphony Of Enchanted Lands Imo Is Their Best Album.
The most EPICCCC song ever is Emerald Sword by far
I wouldnt say "by far", Wisdom of the Kings is in par with Emerald Sword.
Eternal Glory is also up there.
I love in power metal how they add Orchestra in these songs. Awesome 👍

I don't think this song is particularly underrated. They even performed it many times live. But in general.. Rhapsody is underrated as whole.

Watching someone listen to Rhapsody of Fire for the first time is always highly entertaining to me. They're never ready for the intensity.
p.s. The Frozen Tears of Angels is such a kickass album.
There's so much you need to hear. Their music writing is next level! Just like they used to say about Beethoven. "Too many notes" when in reality they just weren't used to hearing the masterpieces he wrote.

Certainly not the easiest song by them to listen to, but they're IMO one of the best power metal bands of all time. Check out some of their earlier more popular stuff like Dawn of Victory, Land of Immortals, or Emerald Sword.

5:41 a lot of the song is not in English, it is in Latin. Rhapsody is an Italian symphonic power metal and progressive metal (with Italian folk music influences) band, so sometimes they use Latin and Italian, they have even done some song only in Italian, like the beautiful folk metal song Danza Di Fuoco E Ghiaccio (and it's the song after Reign Of Terror on the album).
This is literally a final boss battle theme and it slaps

I have been a fan if this band for 20 years and I flew to South Korea from Australia to see them and I met the whole band. Then they decided to tour again and came to Australia and I saw them and met them there too and showed them the photo from Korea and I gkt a drumstick, a pick and a signed poster that says to Jeremy on it

En cualquier caso no creo que sea necesario criticarlo por carecer de una "Educación musical", cuando es probable que simplemente esté disfrutando de la canción de forma natural, sin siquiera preocuparse por entenderla.
Al final, no es que sea necesario tener educación musical para reaccionar a una canción
@@apocalypse3485 Cuando digo "Ejemplo", es para dar un contexto de lo que sucede cuando no se tiene educación musical, de su reacción, es claro que le atrae, pero se abruma. Lo mismo sucede con el gran porcentaje de la población joven de hoy a quienes no se les da eso y al final la industria termina siendo una bazofia de ida y vuelta, perdiendo talentos extraordinarios.

I almost forgot this band existed. I listened to them all the time in high school when I was just getting into power metal. Great reaction! On another note there is no chilling in power metal.

Thanks for checking out one of my favourite bands. Please do some more - they are DIFFERENT, and that takes a lot from you, but it's what makes reactions interesting I think. And tbh most of their songs are more easy to digest than this one.
Billy, normal bands beat the level, metal bands wait till the boss is a one shot, thow him in the air and count how many combos can they do.
Rhapsody of Fire albums like this are something special, they form an epic cycle like the Lord of the Rings, all original, all in song.

The band is italian so some of the lyrics are in that language. I think some of the more choir parts are in Latin too but I don't either language well enough to tell for sure.

the symphonic choir sings on Latin sentences while Fabio sings in english. They did some songs with Italian lyrics (rarely) but this is not the case.
